  1. I think that collarbone injury affected Rodgers accuracy and it probably will never be what it once was. I have worried about that but he still seems like he can make all the throws, just not as consistently as he used to. No TD's today but a big road win and he had a great day.
  2. They just put a TD back on the board last week for Philly, not a TO but a TD which is the same thing reviewable wise. But sort of like the last Packers offensive play last week I am guessing the review folks don't want to get into it on automatic reviews. I thought LeFleur should have taken a timeout and thrown a tantrum last week, it worked when Pederson had a fit earlier in the game.
  3. Whew, I had no hope we would recover onside kick as clueless as our kickoff coverage has been, not even sure who our hands guys are. Big road win, cancels out the loss to the Eagles. Rodgers looking a lot better, we may be pretty good if we can stay healthy.
  4. I mean I am not arguing the flag but for petes sake there was like 30 seconds that went by before fox mentioned there were TWO! flags on the field.
  5. At the time I was more upset about giving up Ortiz and the other SS prospect for a guy we really didn't need, Villar was in the doghouse here and needed to be moved. Maybe Arcia just needs a fresh start somewhere as well but I do think he still has a ceiling he hasn't hit. I would keep him.
  6. Even in conference play there are a few gimmes every year for the top teams, I don't have a problem with these buy games i just wish everyone would be required to have 2 home and away deals going non conference every season and only one buy game. If you alternate them you still have 2 of 3 games at home non conference. I don't care if it is BYU and South Florida instead of power 5 teams, everyone should go on the road non conference every year. Even if it has to be MAC teams.
  7. Rivals has all the 2021 verbals as 3 stars and in the 100-150 range. Right in the Badgers wheelhouse as guys who will be there 4-5 years and hopefully be studs as juniors/seniors. Gard really doing a great job recruiting now, still needs to prove he can develop guys like Bo did but I am no longer in the panic mode I was when the Hausers turned him down. What a difference in a few short months.
  8. God no. He would give up 50 homers in a season I don't think a one pitch starter is a thing either. Well I think the one pitch thing came after he embraced the bullpen role, but i certainly didn't mean to start that debate tonight just feeling pretty down on him right now, tough loss but we probably didn't have a run in us anyway. Oh well.
  9. It's odd they haven't tried to build up Woodruff's pitch count, only 38 his first 2 starts back I think. But I imagine with the bullpen resurgence the plan will be just like last postseason. I just thought Woodruff's starts would be the exception.
  10. Yeah if they are going to make that dumb review rule at least own up to walking out there and not reversing a call like they did twice earlier. I mean LeFleur can't challenge so it's got to be done in fairness. Again, I think the NFL doesn't want the controversy and really wants to nix these PI reviews as they should next offseason.
  11. And what is up with the kickoff coverage? Jesus it seems like we had 2 returned all year and both went for big returns. I don't blame Crosby for angling the nest one if he didn't think he could kick it out of the end zone.
  12. Seems like we should have got a review but the NFL can't tolerate controversy anymore so didn't want it scrutinized I guess. Same old crap from the D, it showed up last week in the first half but now we saw it a whole game, still weak in the middle of the field and easy to trick. Oh well, Thursday game, can't read too much into it.
  13. Yep, my girlfriend couldn't sell her tickets which is really odd. I have said it here before that I think the last stadium expansion was a mistake, they made a tough ticket easy. But Thursday night is tough to sell unless it is the Bears or Vikes, even for people in Milwaukee you have to leave work early and have a late drive home.
  14. I just watched it again, at the time Lindsay was sort of bottled up around the 3 I thought both Tramon and Amos were in position to head upfield and assist but seemed to be more monitoring the play, no not standing around but not charging in for the tackle either. Tramon was walled off when the RB cut toward the endzone and Amos then came up to try and make the play too late. The RB made a good play, the other guys are trying too, I just felt real time that as long as the play took we should have had more guys running in there. But it's a split second decision, I can't say what was in the players heads, maybe Tramon thought he might break outside. We won, it's not really worth debating it, we just see it different. I don't know if we are talking about the same plays with King but we seem to agree the tackling could be better.
  15. Jonathon Taylor had cramps in Madison yesterday and it looked like Gary had them today in the Packer game. It has been brutally muggy in Wisconsin the last couple of weeks, I have to imagine it wasn't too comfortable inside Miller Park. It's possible it was more about that than Woody struggling coming off the injury.
  16. The NFL is the worst by far of all major sports for this stuff. If you live out of market and the Packers are the late afternoon game they won't switch you over until the early game is done and if god forbid it goes to overtime or just runs late they actually don't take commercial breaks in the Packer game so you miss like the whole first quarter. Why? So they can make sure you watch all the planned ads when they finally switch you over.
  17. Yeah especially in a 5 game series, that series last year is still stuck in my craw, just getting a shot at them would be pretty cool considering where I was about this team on Sept 1.
  18. I disagree here, once the RB was first hit at the 3 or 4 yard line everyone on the defense needed to run to the play and finish it. Tramon was standing around on the goal line watching the play, I am sure he is not the only one who thought the play was stuffed. I am very happy with the defense so far but they need to play stronger, still too much yardage after contact and broken tackles which has been a problem for years now. It's an attitude, great defenses have guys who run to the ball and are physical. There was a play earlier where King gave up a catch in front of him and actually backed up and waited for someone else in the middle to make the tackle and the wideout gained a few extra yards because of it. I know you don't want to give up containment but geez you gotta stick your nose in there and make a tackle.
  19. It's a quality loss for sure and a flaw in the system is that it's better to lose early. I was commenting more about the idea that they would get in over a potential 1 loss Big Ten champ, they are certainly not eliminated but I don't see that as a likely path. Remember a few years ago when TCU and I think Baylor got jumped when they didn't have a title game and were declared co-champs, Notre Dame made their own bed by staying independent. My 95% comment earlier was probably a little high since we just had OSU miss out last season but I still think most years a 1 loss champ gets in. That said if you have a ND with just the one loss to an undefeated and #1 Georgia and a 1 loss OSU who got trounced by Purdue the equation certainly changes.
  20. Nice win, I did a lot of complaining about our soft defense being exposed but in the end they really got it done. The Smith's have been money well spent and nice to see Gary getting more snaps and getting in the box score. I am starting to wonder if Rodgers is just a high end game manager at this point, his throwing the ball in the turf when not even under much pressure and subsequent body language was pretty annoying for a drive or 2. But he doesn't turn the ball over and our D gets them, that has been the story line so far this season.
  21. I hope they try to line up Woodruff for the wildcard game start. If he pitches Friday that would be only 3 days rest but he could do that if they keep his pitch count down. Still can't believe how quickly things turned around, on ESPN we are now at 90% chance for playoffs.
  22. I don't think a one loss ND gets in over a 1 loss Big Ten champ unless the Badgers get blown out in Columbus. They were only #7 coming in this week and will drop a bit, their schedule just isn't tough enough the rest of the way for the committee to overlook the conference champion criteria no matter how much they want to. Of course there are other variables, maybe OSU loses 3 other times and Wisconsin's schedule ends up looking sort of weak as well. I think 8 teams is the right number, seed the teams and give the top 4 home games the week after the conference championships and then have the same final 4 format as now. Then you also have the power 5 championships as play in games as well which should boost ratings there. Seems like a no brainer to me but it will be a few more years before they change it I am sure.
  23. With our schedule yeah I would say that is about a 95% certainty. OSU got burned the last couple of years because they got blown out by mediocre teams, just avoid stuff like that and only lose 1 and the Big Ten champ will get in most years.
  24. Yeah I was surprised by the overturn but especially when from the camera behind the play it looked like the ball moved when he hit the ground. I was a little annoyed when Perreira came on and said "maybe it moved a little" and claimed it was a horrible call. The ball moving as it hits the ground like that has been the standard on both levels for a while now for an incompletion. What an awesome ass kicking. These guys are for real. Sort of pissed about losing 2 starters for a half of NW when we were up 35-0 but hard not to be happy about all the Wisconsin teams in September so far.
