    The Tom news and the reminder on radio that Bears were without Odunze and Burton last game has already taken some wind out of my sails tonight. I feel like if it is close Bears will pull it out with a late FG, not looking forward to an excruciating playoff loss to the Bears.

    I suspect the MLF situation is more of a difference of opinion about his value that has now become a wait and see what it is at end of season. He has a good record but no trophies and a losing playoff record and is in his 7th year. It sounds like they will probably work it out from the Schefter report. For the rest I don't think we know the salaries or if they are low. I always thought we paid assistant coaches well until I read that article, it could just be the Packers don't value assistants that highly and feel it is more about the quality of players. That they tend to keep coaches around too long and promote from within certainly isn't a recent development.

    They brought up a couple of points like MLF being forced to keep Pettine and the lousy special teams guys they had before Bisaccia. It doesn't make sense to me why they would be cheap there either, they are rolling in cash.     It is possible Policy would shake things up but that piece this week about Packers being cheapskates on coaches made me think MLF really coaching these playoffs for leverage on his contract extension, not for his job. The Packers like OC type head coaches too.

    I am in La Crosse but spent 12 years in Minneapolis. Maybe they ran out of gas now but trust me if you were there during the Randy Moss years you would not find them so nice. And they REALLY hate the Packers.

    I am more interested in the Packers making their coach cry than their fans, I grew up on west side of state so Vikings have always been a bigger rival and I didn't know many Bear fans. We haven't won in over a month so I am right there with most of us expecting a loss here. But win here and our expectations will change, we are much better off going into playoffs this season than we were last when our WR's were banged up. And none of the NFC teams are that scary good. Just have to get a win to turn things around and this is winnable for sure. Huge game for both franchises, can't wait.

    That's what I saw last night too, then it was Packers -1.5 this morning and now Bears again. Yep, it's a pick and I even saw that on one site when trying to figure out what it really is.

    According to ESPN it opened at Packers -1.5 and is now Bears -1.5. Early money on Bears but it could swing back.

    I just saw Diggs got a good PFF grade for his 32 snaps yesterday and MLF didn't rule out that he could start on Saturday. I noticed on an early play he was playing press coverage, that may be something he brings to the table that has been much needed.

    He should be coaching for his job this week but not sure how the Packers view it. He didn't get it done when he had the bye's and home games and now he can't even get a home playoff game. A playoff win makes a lot go away but a loss as a favorite to a rival should not sit well with the organization. Will they let him coach next year without an extension? I am not sure if we have done that before. Early weather forecast looks like upper 20's and windy Saturday night, a lot like that last game there.

    Yes, it is definitely a change of scenery hope that we can get anything out of him. Still, he has played at a much higher level in the past than any of our guys and he is a better hope to give us some good play in the playoffs than anyone brought up from the practice squad or Melton.

    Diggs seems like a godsend considering the current state of our CB's. If they think he is not washed up they can restructure that 15.5 million he is due next year, considering what FA CB's got last year he could be a pretty good value if he wants to stay with his buddy Parsons. I have no idea if he is any good anymore but I do know Nixon and Valentine are not. I expect he will be starting in wildcard round, they need to do something different.

    Too many varieties taking up shelf space in grocery stores. Can I just get regular tortilla chips? Not bite size, not hint of lime, not lightly salted, not scoops, not shovels. The answer is apparently no because everyone else likes normal tortilla chips too and they are all gone. Had same issue finding original Triscuits.

    They have to take advantage of the week off that they "earned". I don't want Love, Jacobs or Watson to see the field. Hope that Philly and Bears get beat up in surprise dog fights against rivals. If we are going to be a 7 this is about as good as it could work out. I don't want Philly though...

    If some teams do view him as a starter I think he gets 2 years so if he does prove it they are not looking at a big multiyear deal right away, Colts were already talking about extending Jones before he got hurt, they may have dodged a bullet. Jones and Darnold were at different points of their career than Willis is when they got 1 year deals.

    It is tough to predict since he is entering FA without ever having been a regular starter. But part of that is being behind a franchise QB in GB the last 2 seasons, I would be pretty surprised if there are not at least 2-3 teams who would want to bring him in to at least compete for the starting position. It wasn't much of a gamble for the Jets to take a flyer on Fields at 2/40 and they still have him around to compete with a potential high pick in 26. Maybe you are right and Saturday night didn't move the needle that much. That he is a high end backup is the narrative pushed by Silverstein and JS recently. But to my amateur eyes he looks like he has a pretty similar skillset to Caleb Williams. Whether or not he can stay on the field with his style of play would be the big question mark for me about Maiik's future as a starter.

    He is a pretty unusual QB to be hitting the FA market. Top 100 pick who was a raw talent but never showed much in limited play for Titans. Traded to GB where he had some success last year as a backup and is a franchise known for developing QB's. Now has some late season prime time games right before FA to put him front and center yet has never been a regular starter. His talent really jumps out at you, it's not really like the Matt Flynn situation at all. He is only 26, if you are QB needy team and are not in position to get the first couple of QB's in draft he may be best option and doesn't cost picks. The bidding may go high.

    I suspect he may have priced himself out of being a placeholder for one of the guys picked at the top of the draft. Miami, Pittsburgh, Minnesota all would make sense even if they draft someone or have a guy like McCarthy already. Hopefully his market is robust enough to land us a 3rd round comp pick.
