    There are some proposed kickoff rule changes that could mean more returns for Nixon as well, maybe the Packers know these will be implemented.

    Jones just wasn’t durable enough and Packers O needs good RBs. It sucks he went to Vikes but I still think it was the right move.

    So Runyon got 17 million and Jacoby got 12.5? That’s just nuts. I agree great deal, he moves right into Jones’ salary slot and not a lot of long term risk if he doesn’t pan out.

    I think the Vikings might have dodged a bullet there, Cousins got 100 million guaranteed and has one playoff win to show for all that money Minnesota payed him. Especially after he made a lot of talk about taking less to stay in Minnesota, it was time for them to move on. Too bad the Bears likely wouldn't trade Fields to them but they can draft a QB in the first and sign someone to start next year like Jimmy G.

    What a crazy day so far. MLF likes big running backs so not surprising they got younger and bigger at the position. I still hope Jones just wants to retire a Packer and comes back.

    I got mixed up and assumed that Bakh would also be June 1 cut since it would explain why they are waiting.

    Packers to release Campbell and likely Bakh on Wednesday and designate them post June 1 cuts. This will free up space so they can be more active in free agency, specifically a safety and maybe other positions. No word on Jones yet. No link but it was a Silverstein report I saw.

    Lohse was very solid for 2 years before falling off a cliff the last year of his deal. The Garza/Suppan contracts were much worse.

    Just saw on NFL network neither McKinney or Barkley to be tagged by the Giants and Winfield will be tagged by Bucs. I really like the idea of the Packers signing Barkley. It would take some pressure off Love at a good time for his development and they would probably get better value than paying more for another need like Devin White. I doubt it unless they have to cut Jones though, Barkley probably not interested in sharing top RB duties.

    I was thinking of the days of Reggie White/Vonnie Holliday as power ends in the 4-3 and thought maybe Wyatt and Brooks could fit that role, especially on early downs. But you are probably right, times have changed and guys have to be freaks like Reggie to pull it off now. But I do think Hafley must have sold it as the guys we have are better fits for it or we wouldn't be changing. Just start with stopping the run, I think that part is still considered a strength of the 4-3. The switch does require another LB and unless we score someone in FA(Devin White?) I expect one of our top 3 picks to land a starter there.

    I don't know that anyone is going that far, it wasn't total dumbassery like say faking a punt at your own 20 on Thanksgiving. To me it's more a debate about how far you go with the new aggressive play calling once you get to the playoffs and Campbell seems to go the furthest. Playoff games have gotten a lot tighter in the past decade or so these decisions earlier in games can end up bigger when there is no next week. We may have been burned by our own 4th down call just a week ago but like people have said here, if your kicker isn't reliable you take a chance. I think Campbell would have still went for it even with Baltimore's kicker though...

    How many of those extra points he ran up in the regular season were against poor defenses? Someone posted here a while back that statistics show over time you will score more points going for 2 every time but obviously if you go 0-4 in a playoff game and lose because of it you will look stupid. One of the guys on NFL network was ripping on Campbell pretty bad yesterday, not really for the decisions but his postgame explanation of "that's who we are and will do it every time". He called it meathead talk and I agree, you have to adjust to the situation and quality of the team you are facing. It's the main reason I soured on MM in the end, he seemed to call everything off his chart without any real feel for the flow of the game. Of course that is probably tougher than we think, it's the sort of thing that separates the great coaches from the good ones.

    We have been cycling through veteran coaches for a while now without a whole lot of success despite what seems to be a lot of talent. There are probably other factors at play in that, the type of players they like to draft, how they practice, the offense centric organization and head coaches, etc. But I think it's time to take a chance on a young coach like Leonhard and I think he is most likely the guy but we will find out soon enough. Leonhard also had a long NFL career and I think he could have easily got his coaching career started there if we wanted so not too worried about the college coach thing.

    Of course I had decided when we went up 21-14 that house money was over and I now had SB aspirations for this team. Then they tore my heart out, again. 😡

    I thought it never rained in California? We have been outmuscled by more physical teams in the playoffs so many times it's hard to be too optimistic. But this is the Love era now so who knows. It's a very successful season already, none of us thought we would get this far.

    Looking forward to watching Skip Bayless when I get home tonight, I watch all the Packer segments of these shows on youtube after big wins like this.

    He didn't practice again today and is listed as questionable. 52 guys took part in the walk through on Wednesday and the guy who has the "freak accident" is Alexander?? Something doesn't seem right about that whole situation with him this year, I hope I am wrong but I don't think he plays Sunday.

    MLF said he was day to day and they gave him the day off to rest it but when it comes to Alexander I assume he will be out.
