  1. How many of those extra points he ran up in the regular season were against poor defenses? Someone posted here a while back that statistics show over time you will score more points going for 2 every time but obviously if you go 0-4 in a playoff game and lose because of it you will look stupid. One of the guys on NFL network was ripping on Campbell pretty bad yesterday, not really for the decisions but his postgame explanation of "that's who we are and will do it every time". He called it meathead talk and I agree, you have to adjust to the situation and quality of the team you are facing. It's the main reason I soured on MM in the end, he seemed to call everything off his chart without any real feel for the flow of the game. Of course that is probably tougher than we think, it's the sort of thing that separates the great coaches from the good ones.
  2. We have been cycling through veteran coaches for a while now without a whole lot of success despite what seems to be a lot of talent. There are probably other factors at play in that, the type of players they like to draft, how they practice, the offense centric organization and head coaches, etc. But I think it's time to take a chance on a young coach like Leonhard and I think he is most likely the guy but we will find out soon enough. Leonhard also had a long NFL career and I think he could have easily got his coaching career started there if we wanted so not too worried about the college coach thing.
  3. It’s Doc Rivers
  4. Road wins in the B1G always huge, especially love them in that place. Very happy with the win, ugly or not.
  5. Of course I had decided when we went up 21-14 that house money was over and I now had SB aspirations for this team. Then they tore my heart out, again. 😡
  6. I thought it never rained in California? We have been outmuscled by more physical teams in the playoffs so many times it's hard to be too optimistic. But this is the Love era now so who knows. It's a very successful season already, none of us thought we would get this far.
  7. Looking forward to watching Skip Bayless when I get home tonight, I watch all the Packer segments of these shows on youtube after big wins like this.
  8. Alexander and Watson active
  9. He didn't practice again today and is listed as questionable. 52 guys took part in the walk through on Wednesday and the guy who has the "freak accident" is Alexander?? Something doesn't seem right about that whole situation with him this year, I hope I am wrong but I don't think he plays Sunday.
  10. MLF said he was day to day and they gave him the day off to rest it but when it comes to Alexander I assume he will be out.
  11. Alexander rolled his ankle on another players foot in the walk through yesterday and DNP today. You have got to be kidding me,
  12. Packers Wednesday Injury Report Did not participate: RB AJ Dillon (stinger). Limited participation: CB Jaire Alexander, WR Romeo Doubs, LG Elgton Jenkins, RB Aaron Jones, LB Isaiah McDuffie, S Jonathan Owens, DT T.J. Slaton, OLB Preston Smith, WR Christian Watson.

  14. Yes, I think most of us are just thrilled with the extra game and it is good for Love and the rest of the young players to keep this rolling another week to build toward next year. Of course, if we do pull the upset we will convince ourselves we can beat the Niners too. I am glad we got Dallas instead of Detroit, just a more exciting matchup when we don't have high expectations anyway. It's sort of nice being in the playoffs not worrying about choking away a 13 win season at home again.
  15. It doesn’t sound like Watson is likely to play this week, MLF admitted it was a bit of gamesmanship on his part and they really didn’t expect him to play Sunday. Hopefully he is just doing the opposite this week and he will surprise us and play.
  16. Packers @ Cowboys 3:30 Sunday cbs
  17. Packers-Cowboys will get a lot of hype, probably late game on Sunday. This feels great, what an incredible game by Love. And I sure hope healthy Jones is here to stay.
  18. Just an awful decision, I am fine taking another shot at the end zone but that was dumb.
  19. It looked bad but then I saw him walk off, that doesn’t mean it’s not an acl but has anything been reported? I am listening to Packer pregame so have game muted.
  20. Packers have won 9 in a row in the series. Packers get destroyed by running QB's. " I own you". Lots of parallels to week 18 last year. We struggle in elimination games at Lambeau seems like forever. Seahawks fans should be feeling pretty good. Bet your house on Bears straight up. :)
  21. Yes, sorry I can't keep their names straight for some reason, it didn't help we had a Watkins last year too. 🙂
  22. I am more worried about the rust on Walker, it took a month after his last hammy to start to make an impact but Love threw to him a lot anyway.
  23. I think the attraction for both MM and MLF on the 3-4 was the "complimentary football" angle, they plan on high scoring offense led by an elite QB and really need the defense to hold the other team to FG's and get lots of turnovers. That worked well in 2010 and early 2011, maybe a bit in 2014, but for the most part the players often seem confused and out of position. I think the 4-3 would not only fix our leaky run defense but also may be a bit simpler for the players? Not sure about that but I think we have our 4-3 DL, Gary, Van Ness and Smith are big enough for DE. We hope we have our mike in Walker but need to figure out the other 2 LB's. Not a huge transition in my mind but if MLF is set on the 3-4 we better be prepared for that sort of hire. No Packers in Pro Bowl, not much of a surprise. Maybe Love could have went over Stafford but he is the vet. Clark? That's about all I can come up with as candidates, just too many guys in an out with injuries this year.
  24. Yes, the Bears are far from a gimme, their defense is playing well and Fields and Moore could create problems for us. But if we do look ahead I guess I like playing the Lions over the Cowboys. Of course getting a shot at knocking Dallas and MM out is appealing too, especially since we don't really have high hopes of going very far anyway.
