  1. Off topic but the UWGB post reminded me UWM got Baldwin Jr and I think some transfers, just checked and they didn't get any votes in either poll just curious for anyone who knows if they have the players around him to make a sweet 16 type run. Looks like their toughest noncon games will be at Florida and at Colorado. Baldwin had 21/10 in his debut against Badger nemesis North Dakota. Too bad badgers left them off this year but then again maybe not. Edit: It was North Dakota State that beat us, North Dakota was Frank the Tanks big 40 point game, I think they usually suck
  2. Yeah it seemed pretty hopeless on offense but they blitzed him like crazy, at least he threw a few good throws late. His accuracy needs a lot of improvement if he is going to cut it as a starter some day.
  3. Gah, really seemed like we had them on that play, just a great throw on the run. Oh well. didn't have a ton of hope anyway for this one.
  4. I dunno, I'm not sure they did that. Maybe in that Lions' game on Thanksgiving a few years ago. But other than that their backups just kind of sucked. The Qb play didn't help but my memory is that we suddenly looked like a 4-12 team and were getting beat by other awful teams. The team quit on MM or just wasn't very good to start with. Looks like it is going to fall apart today but the team is at least trying.
  5. At least the team isn't laying down with Rodgers out like they did under MM.
  6. Yeah honestly I am sure they won't because of their investment in him but if he was a typical backup you would be thinking of throwing Bortles in.
  7. I always blamed TT obsession with keeping projects at the bottom of the roster instead of special teamers but it seems to have carried on a few years
  8. It's early but that is about the worst start possible for us when we are trying to win with Love.
  9. That is not going to go over well. For a smart guy that was a pretty dumb thing to say. is he really that smart? is he? I actually came here to ask the same thing, maybe we shouldn't trust sportswriters to tell us how smart someone is.
  10. Maji and Tomzcak are 2/3. Dilweg isn’t a bad guess, but he was 2 years prior to Favre. The third guy started a single game in both 1990 and 1991, but managed over 130 passing attempts in his three years. I thought maybe someone would get it because he spent three years as a Packer and started games in different years…but it is a pretty random guy in the grand scheme. The guy is: Blair Kiel. The Sorcerer!
  11. Yeah the QB is everything plus you don't have time to develop all these draft picks like you do with prospects in baseball so selling off doesn't really always pay off. Every team already has a bunch of first and second year players they are developing so making room for a boatload of picks isn't that easy. Better off trying to show some improvement down the stretch to build toward next year than picking up a bunch of mid to late rounds picks.
  12. I always loved listening to the Viking whine line on KFAN after crucial losses like this when I lived in the Cities. Just looking around at some internet stuff this morning plenty of calls for Zimmer to be fired. If you can't beat a backup QB at home it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season but I would guess he gets the chance at 3-4 to turn it around and make the playoffs. He has been there too long, unless you win a Super Bowl you just need a fresh start with new coach as the message gets stale. I thought Zimmer would be gone last year too.
  13. I'd actually pull for MN. Unless something goes critically, functionally wrong, there's no way the Vikings catch us. It helps the Packers more if the Cowboys catch a loss here or there. Well we still have 2 games against them so there is that. Not worried but I would rather win division and clinch a home game first in the new expanded playoff world.
  14. I would much rather win the big ten title than any bowl game not in the playoffs so it’s nice to have a shot at it after the start. Too bad Mertz has disappointed or we could be in a better spot but starting to feel like a Badger team that dominates down the stretch.
  15. Jones is pretty good at the goal line, very good at contorting his body and finding a hole to squeeze through for the extra foot. Maybe Dillon has passed him in short yardage and should be used now but I have no problem using Jones there, just didn’t work out he came close though.
  16. It’s going to take me a while to wind down from that, reminder to look at he schedule and just take the Friday after the Thursday game off.
  17. Our defense is terrible, sucks we are on the bRink of losing this game but they had plenty of shots to top them
  18. We blew 2 4th downs now this half maybe have a stop coming our way?
  19. Yeah sometimes they know though and the way he reacted said a lot
  20. One of those collisions that makes you wonder about the need for kickoffs at all, onside kicks I guess
  21. If your going to take it out you better get past the dang 10, we probably need someone else back there
  22. Gotta stop that 4th down, an early dagger possibility you let get away. Damn…
  23. I mean throwing it on on 1st usually works but sort of puts you into tougher decisions from the 2. Glad they took the FG that wasn’t feeling good on 4th
