  1. This is truly a sight to behold. Not trying to pick a fight, it’s just that this sentence is something special. It really is.
  2. I highly recommend it as well, I believe they publish these articles every year. Far from perfect, but gives better insight into prospect performance.
  3. “Black’s move, and the pickups of Wilken and Boere in the draft have now given the Brewers incredible depth at the hot corner in their system. That said, some of those who don’t get the spotlight, particularly Devanney, Adams, and Nadal, also could be very credible options down the road.” Worth noting that Nadal’s long-term defensive home will be second base regardless of development. He will certainly add some muscle as he matures, but at 5’7” 125 lb. (generous) and with not much power/not a strong arm at this point, it is hard to imagine an outcome of third base or in the outfield.
  4. Wilken certainly fits 1B profile more with his body type and size as well as the power although 3B has become another power position in recent years. From what I’ve seen on the defensive side of things, Boeve has a better chance to stick at third and has even seen time at short in the past (no, I don’t think he’ll play there in pro ball much at all but I could be wrong).
  5. Quero isn’t going anywhere unless something changes dramatically.
  6. Jhonny Severino has a sprained wrist and the plan is for him to get back into games next week sometime, hopefully early in the week.
  7. Waiting to hear prognosis tomorrow
  8. Undrafted, so an even better story!
  9. Alberis Ferrer, former infielder that had a big 2021 in the Arizona Complex League but struggled last year in his first taste of full-season ball, has converted to the mound and should make his pitching debut in the near future.
  10. As far as I know, the target for his return is still late July, but his situation was very touchy dealing with a nerve in his elbow.
  11. Tayden Hall will begin rehab games in AZ today and will be there for two weeks after which he will head back to Carolina.
  12. Southern League will revert back to standard MLB baseballs rubbed with mud from the Delaware River after July 13th.
  13. Guilarte injured the pinky finger of his left hand on a stolen base attempt. I don’t know exactly when the target for his return is, but it shouldn’t be too far off.
  14. Nate Peterson has been dealing with a minor elbow strain and is scheduled to return to action a week from today.
  15. Harold Chirino has a torn lat muscle which typically requires 3-4 months of recovery. At this point, there is hope for a return at the end of the season, but that is not a certainty.
  16. Unfortunately, Castillo’s status was complicated by a quadriceps injury. The good news is that he will play 5 games in the ACL starting on Monday and then will head to Carolina. (fingers crossed)
  17. I will update when I hear of anything regarding Guilarte, but Hendry has been dealing with an ankle injury and I believe he is within a week of his return to the lineup.
  18. I will try to do this a few times throughout the season, but let me know what players you would like injury updates on and I will do my best to deliver.
  19. Sad situation with our old friend. I’m afraid that similar situations are all too common. (Luke Barker, Braden Webb, etc.)
  20. Damon Dues (left) listed at 6’0” and Konner Piotto (center) listed at 5’9”. I have no idea why the organization would choose to be so conservative and maybe it’s a weird angle, but I believe he is closer to 6’2” than 5’10”.
  21. I believe Arias is dealing with an injury and is still in the organization, unless I have missed something.
  22. C/1B Tayden Hall is dealing with a nagging lower back injury. He is headed to Arizona to see a specialist and, at this point, it seems as though his absence may be longer than his first stay on the IL this season. That being said, this is not a situation that should keep him out longer than a month, hence the 7-day IL placement.
  23. Was shut down with elbow soreness this spring (also what kept him out of the AFL last year) that is considered a common occurrence when coming back from the procedure he had a year ago. I was told it was considered nothing major and Henderson himself told me, barring a setback, he expected to begin a rehab assignment with the Mudcats in early May, after which he would head to Wisconsin.
  24. For those that may be interested, Luis Lara will be joining the Mudcats this week. Lara and Luis Castillo (hopefully making his season debut in the next couple weeks as well) could be two spark plugs in the lineup.
  25. In more positive news, RHP Ryne Moore (rehab from TJ surgery) will return to the mound next week. Still a little ways from game action, but getting closer!
