  1. Guilty of having a Pat Listach rookie card.
  2. Agreed. Can anyone basically make an article and get it on the page? There's too many, and they aren't good.
  3. First time ever drafting Mahomes...I'm sure he'll get hurt this season early.
  4. If the D is really good, I think they can sneak in with a wild card or be in the hunt...if the D is bad we won't make the playoffs.
  5. I would rather have us not playing our best baseball right now, and get hot at the end of the season and playoffs than be hot right now and fade in the playoffs like we have the last couple times we've made it. The best is yet to come! Let's be the Braves or Phils from last year and get hot at the right time. Or one of those Cards teams in the late 2000s / early 2010s.
  6. More deep cut random Brewers please. Anyone else follow @randombrewers on Twitter? They post players you forgot about, great page.
  7. Maybe this year will be the team where we "get hot" at the right time and surprise everyone like KC a few years back, Atlanta or Philly. It's possible!
  8. I just think he's choking. He knows a HUGE payday is close, and it's in his head to have another good year, if not his best year to get that life changing contract...and he's swinging at stuff out of the zone to try and be that guy. Other teams know this watching the tape now, and they don't give him anything good because they know he'll chase. That at bat a couple days ago where he had a 3-0 count, swung at ball 4, 5, and 6 with weak contact was a very frustrating at bat and summed up his season struggles perfectly. I want him to get going too we need him! And increase his trade value for next year since I don't think we can afford him.
  9. I think he'll be fine. Let's revisit this thread in 3 years. He's already looked better up there. If these rookies come on late, and our pitching comes back healthy we can win a series against anyone and get hot.
  10. I'm staying positive and think he'll be fine. Reminds me of JJ Hardy's first year where he hit around .200. Anyone have those stats to compare to Turang? And Turang is a better defender.
  11. Thanks for staying positive. Though the moves weren't exciting, the pickups are still upgrades...and we didn't give up anything too big. Bring on Craigtember and Craigust.
  12. In Larry David as Steinbrenner voice..."Hire this man."
  13. I think you're right, he said all the right things when he left us, but this is a chip on the shoulder passive aggressive move to stick it to the GM and Prez. I bet NYJ are letting him pick guys too, giving him say on that stuff like he always wanted with us too. Even if he takes a 35 million pay cut, he probably figures he'll make up for it and more in NYC promo deals off the field. Smart move by him, but you're right man if he did this with us, we could of kept a couple more guys last year and maybe made a deeper run for sure.
  14. Yep this should make him look really good in the NYC market, increase his brand and mass appeal. Smart move.
  15. It's true. If both of these guys played for the Sox, Yankees, Dodgers they'd be shoe ins.
  16. Going to be a close race all the way to the end between 4 teams pretty cool.
  17. It does indeed look exciting. But by then we’ll have 0 starting pitching.
  18. Beating some good teams right now...with a terrible offense. Call up or trade for a bat or two, Ashby and Woody come back look out! We can run with anyone in the playoffs just have to get in.
  19. I'm not buying it, the Cards are the Cards and they will somehow be in it at the end. They will get some new gritty manager that plays the game the "right way" and go on a run.
  20. That was a name I remember getting tossed around on this board quite a bit years ago. Was this guy a pretty big prospect at one point? Good to see him getting a chance. Didn't know he switched to pitcher from 3B.
  21. We all know he will be come the best RF and DH now in the NL? We are talking about the Cards guys.
  22. Playing good right against a very tough early season schedule yep. Really impressed with the team's approach this year. It's fun to watch.
  23. Gamer McBattler, Lars Eckbar, David Nutestein. Just a class team that finds a way.
  24. These young player deals you guys want to lock all our prospects who are unproven at the MLB level up with already are risky. Imagine if we signed Huira to one of these 7-8 year deals for over $100 million after 2019? Yikes. We're gonna have these guys for a long time even without these deals, we're fine.
