  1. I think he'll be fine. Let's revisit this thread in 3 years. He's already looked better up there. If these rookies come on late, and our pitching comes back healthy we can win a series against anyone and get hot.
  2. I'm staying positive and think he'll be fine. Reminds me of JJ Hardy's first year where he hit around .200. Anyone have those stats to compare to Turang? And Turang is a better defender.
  3. Just wanted to share my experience. Parked around Jackson and Chicago in the Third Ward. Put about 50 cents in the meter since it was almost 6pm and I was good all night. Quick drink at the Deer Camp bar, and a 1/4 mile walk to the Summerfest gate. Really easy, and it's so nice down there now.
  4. Thanks for staying positive. Though the moves weren't exciting, the pickups are still upgrades...and we didn't give up anything too big. Bring on Craigtember and Craigust.
  5. In Larry David as Steinbrenner voice..."Hire this man."
  6. Yeah any bars or restaurants running shuttles down there would be great, too. Grab a bite before heading over sounds perfect. I'll keep checking around.
  7. I think you're right, he said all the right things when he left us, but this is a chip on the shoulder passive aggressive move to stick it to the GM and Prez. I bet NYJ are letting him pick guys too, giving him say on that stuff like he always wanted with us too. Even if he takes a 35 million pay cut, he probably figures he'll make up for it and more in NYC promo deals off the field. Smart move by him, but you're right man if he did this with us, we could of kept a couple more guys last year and maybe made a deeper run for sure.
  8. Yep this should make him look really good in the NYC market, increase his brand and mass appeal. Smart move.
  9. It's true. If both of these guys played for the Sox, Yankees, Dodgers they'd be shoe ins.
  10. Going to be a close race all the way to the end between 4 teams pretty cool.
  11. Going to see Pantera Monday at AmFam at the Summerfest grounds. Haven't been there since they redid it a few years back. Are there good, safe, free places to park? Last time I was down there 10+ years ago we parked by the Allen Bradley clock and it was ok. Any other ideas?
  12. He scares me in the field, but let's see what he can do in the DH...or they want to up his trade value. I have a feeling some other team will figure him out and he'll be good again.
  13. It does indeed look exciting. But by then we’ll have 0 starting pitching.
  14. Beating some good teams right now...with a terrible offense. Call up or trade for a bat or two, Ashby and Woody come back look out! We can run with anyone in the playoffs just have to get in.
  15. Is PGH a thing in Pittsburgh? I've never heard of that, but maybe it's a local thing? Barry Bonds tested positive for PGH I think. ;)
  16. Is this a cost savings measure? Or is it actually a better surface to play on than grass? Don't all the NFL players complain about the newer artificial grass that has been all the rage the last couple years blowing out their knees?
  17. I'm not buying it, the Cards are the Cards and they will somehow be in it at the end. They will get some new gritty manager that plays the game the "right way" and go on a run.
  18. Great game, way to fight hard against a really good bullpen.
  19. That was a name I remember getting tossed around on this board quite a bit years ago. Was this guy a pretty big prospect at one point? Good to see him getting a chance. Didn't know he switched to pitcher from 3B.
  20. We all know he will be come the best RF and DH now in the NL? We are talking about the Cards guys.
  21. Man more good teams. But we play good teams good. So maybe that's a plus! +4 above .500 this month.
  22. Remember a month ago we were worried about how we'd have no room for all our good players and prospects? Good to have depth! Welcome back TT.
  23. Nice to read, but it must of came out before all the injuries to Sal and Mitchell. Woody. Glad we have so much depth but it's going to be a test. Hope we can stay afloat.
