  1. Did anyone here predict he would become the HR beast that he was during that reign? I think most didn't care because his arm and D were so bad. If we had the DH back then he would be been great to hang onto until he became a FA.
  2. Gasser looked good. That sweeper is a nasty pitch, and he threw it for strikes. When it was backdoor for a strike that is a thing of beauty right there.
  3. Maybe it's just me being positive, but maybe the "real" Brewers offense is last night, with Yelich in there mashing. It really makes a difference wow.
  4. I chalk up this sour stretch is from: 1) Key injuries in lineup and pitching staff 2) Scouting reports and video tape on how to expose/exploit our younger hitters/pitchers with little MLB experience 3) 26 games in 27 days stretch is a grind for any team Do I think we will keep up the hitting pace of the first 13 games? No. Do I think we'll be as bad as we have been during this latest stretch? No. Somewhere in the middle depending on when we start to get healthy and who we call up that steps up and plays well down the stretch.
  5. So who are these younger guys the Cubs have helping them win right now? Are they good prospects or are they just random guys over performing like the Cards prospects the last couple years or so. Excited for this series!
  6. Man what happened to the White Sox? Weren't they really good a year or two before the La Russa hire? I remember they had a ton of really good, young Latin players all coming up at the same time. What happened?
  7. We'll see how he does for them in the Playoffs. Can he can show up and pitch as their ace when it counts?
  8. In game threads are great. I really enjoy following along with the game, or catching up with the game later at night on it.
  9. We need offense. Welcome to the bigs!
  10. Love this place. Seems filled with smart, very knowledgeable Brewers and baseball fans. But because of that can be a little intimidating. I bet we have more lurkers than posters. But I love reading all the comments even though I don't post that much.
  11. I'm excited to see this younger, faster, more athletic and aggressive defense in action. Ever since TB beat us in the NFCCG, I've been wanting LBs and DBs that can fly and are aggressive. OLs like SF has would be nice too. Control the clock and be physical. Would love to see us take them down this year once and for all. Thanks to all that do these draft write ups! I barely follow along to college football these days but reading everyones stuff gets me jacked for the draft each year.
  12. If Judge steals 2nd base, is he a head first slider? Or is he like Braun and does a feet first slide when stealing? No reason for him to have that giant hand pad on then either. Let's see him try that without one. It's all good, this is just a World Series preview and we will beat them then :)
  13. I'm gonna sit back and trust the Packers front Office when it comes to drafting OL. Overall I think they have hit more than miss over the years. Very true OL picks are never exciting or flashy, but a very important part of the team. Give Love time, keep him healthy, let us control the clock by running the ball and big plays off play action. I'm excited for today lots of picks. It was fun watching the draft on my iPad and following along on this forum. I'm not a hardcore draft person like some of you but it was fun to read along with your insights thanks!
  14. So far I think they have exceeded all our expectations. Hats off to the front office and coaching staff for making this current team good to start the season. Let's hope they can keep it going!
  15. Just like on those shirt jerseys I think the current uniform could of a power blue alternate if they wanted, it would look good if done right. I'm not a fan of the City Connects, but we aren't the target market for those. It's kids and the "casual fans" who all think they look great. Look around next time you're at a game and how many people have on the MKE hats and the Brew Crew jerseys. It's probably close to the #1 seller I bet in sales. Me and probably most of us on here are a little more hardcore, and baseball purists and prefer the traditional uniforms. I'm boring and love a team's road grays the best with the city name on them. That's always been my favorite. It makes me sad seeing a few teams phase out their road grays because of the Nike 4 jerseys only rule they have now. Agreed on the late 90s version of the uniforms, that was the best version of that set and doesn't get as much love as it should since they only had them for a couple seasons...and the team wasn't that great then either. Gold M on the road caps and white M on the home caps was a good look. I think they removed the green by then on the uniforms as well or it was much reduced compared to 1994-1997. I still have a couple of those jerseys and proudly wear them to games and get a lot of compliments from random fans. I always think it's the sign of a true fan seeing a 1998 Brewers jersey.
  16. Wow those 2013 1B...the horrors. We need to find that clip of Weeks and Yuni B turning that crazy DP. His smile after even he was shocked lol.
  17. That's not bad. We're plenty deep in all these areas right now. Devin coming back would be nice. Man imagine if we had a healthy Woody right now? :)
  18. Couldn't ask for a much better start so far record wise. And we all know there's room to improve as well. Let's see if they can keep this up!
  19. Khris Davis? aka Krush Davis?
  20. Try buying tickets for any other MLB stadium, or any other Major League sports game. The Brewers are one of the top values nation wide so I always get a little salty when I see people complain about high prices. You can find the deals and discounts if you dig. There's like 100 of them. I mean it's 2024 and you can still bring in FOIL WRAPPED food into the game! Unopened bottles! I couldn't believe my eyes when a family did this on opening day in a giant clear bag. Amfam is still insane value.
  21. It is 100% the whole throw as hard as you can and spin the ball as much as you can every pitch, and it trickly down to basically the middle school level now. All these traveling teams, camps, indoor baseball facilities where you are throwing year round and who knows how many pitches. Lots of stress on young not fully developed bodies. It's still crazy to me that EVERYONE throws hard now. Remember Sheets when he came up and he had a mid 90's fastball as a starter? That was unreal to me compared to previous Brewers pitchers and now it's common. I used to laugh playing MVP Baseball 05 in college when you'd play franchise mode for a few years with the computer created players being your draft picks and you'd draft a guy who could throw a 99 mph sinker or cutter, or 2 seamer. That would never happen in real life! And now it does and it's crazy.
  22. Did they say why technically it didn't work? Were their servers just overloaded with too many people? I wonder how much testing they did on this ahead of time? It probably worked great when they had 10 people test it out in the parking lot the day before...but not 10,000. Agree with the poster above, should of been rolled out on a weeknight game not Opening Day with much less of a crowd.
  23. I was surprised to see the Mets payroll that high, and then seeing Tyrone Taylor and Omar in their lineup and not many "names" during the series. Like what is all that money spent on? I love it. I really enjoyed how much we ran during the series. We have such a young, fast team. Use it to generate some runs like AZ did last year.
