  1. For as much as Chacin helped the Brewers last year, he hurt the team with his pitching this year, We’re even. Move on.
  2. Hiura and Woody will make this team so much better.
  3. Really enjoying the Cards broadcast tonight.
  4. Keep going with Lyles. He can throw 105. He did it for Pittsburgh.
  5. So 4 games worth of ABs, and he sucks again? Yes he sucks > OFFENSIVELY .250 .319 73 ops+ = as good as his defense has been, his lack of offense has really hurt this team.
  6. So much for the Great Cain turnaround. 1 for his last 15 now.
  7. Don’t speak for others. That’d be a great goal for you to have amongst many. And just because he’s starting now, doesn’t mean he will continue to. Having multiple pitches doesn’t mean much if you’re getting rocked. Time will tell... Wasn’t speaking for others as much as just reading the previous posters comments. But ok, forget the previous posters. Time will tell.
  8. The minor league evidence hasn’t kept him from starting for the brewers and impressing the heck out of scouts and analysts. A reminder, I’ve already mentioned this, but, HE DEVELOPED A SLIDER IN ST, that he didn’t have in the minors, so those stats are neutered. And yes you are on an island, all the rest of us see Houser a starter moving forward.
  9. Falling apart, if we can’t come back to win this game, need tomorrow’s.
  10. Give the guy a chance to get a little more than his feet wet. He’ll get better. How bout his minor league numbers? You love Freitas for his but Houser wasn’t a good starter there either. Go ahead and stay on your island.
  11. Give the guy a chance to get a little more than his feet wet. He’ll get better.
  12. Nats losing again vs Braves 5-1 top 7. Nats play teams with something to play for, outside of 3 gamer in Miami, the entire way, including ending the year with the tribe. This could be our in. Fitting if we play the Cubbies in Wrigley again, the winner taking on the dodgers.
  13. This is either a joke or some sort of good luck post...literally the last time this pitching matchup happened a few weeks ago the brewers beat Flaherty 4-1 and lyles got the win. The brewers actually have had pretty good success against Flaherty - hoping the bats show up early and get some runs on the board Need all the luck we can get.
  14. Yes agree 100%. But Cole is unique in the following way: Superb mechanics, easy heat, I believe, helps keep him healthy over most other pitchers. Absolutely unhittable stuff. A 6 war starter is extremely valuable to any team. I also believe pairing him up with Woodruff and Houser at the top of the rotation, coupled with the best bullpen in the NL, the best hitter in baseball, a strong positional core, a great manager, a superb GM, mix it all together and we get a title. 2 years of Cole and Yelich should be enough, then trade em. Rebuild.
  15. Ok, thanks for clarifying. I do understand the desire to pitch Houser out of the pen, FB ticks up to 97 and his stuff becomes even more devastating. But the #3 supersedes the pen dominance, especially for the small mid-market brewers, who, as we all, already know, have to develop their own starters financially.
  16. But it really doesn’t matter if there’s another poster or two that agree’s with you because the brewers don’t, and for good reason, and it’s called a pitcher with 4 pitches that he can locate = Starter 100% of the time. Multiple times you have cited the fact that the Brewers have Houser starting as proof that they see him as a starter and it's just kind of silly. Roles are fluid, and I don't think the Brewers are foolish enough to pigeonhole a guy solely based on the amount of pitches he can throw and say "this guy is a starter 100% of the time!" Again, roles are fluid. Peralta was a starter and now he's not. Woodruff was primarily a reliever last year and now he's a starter. Sometimes, roles are determined not just by best fit but by the options you have available. Houser was already removed from the rotation once this year and put back in the pen, then was back into a starter's role when injuries occurred. OK, so let me get this straight, you agree that he should be a starter, and a potential number three, but you’re arguing with me for the sake of argument?
  17. Probable top 5 worst trade in baseball history. But to be fair Their entire rotation has been absolutely decimated by injuries this year.
