  1. If we could hit a little, we’d never lose.
  2. I wouldn’t worry about Peralta, I’d say he’s been lights out now for some time.
  3. Nice to see Counsell use D Williams in last nights game, and to have him pitch well is big. Next week, the crew is gonna possibly need their biggest pen of the year for the last 6 games, imo, because of the ridiculous ballparks their going to play in. Day off is big, but 9-10 arms that can be used will probably be needed. 1.) Hader 2.) Pomeranz 3.) Peralta 4.) Suter 5.) Jackson 6.) Guerra 7.) Claudio 8.) Black 9.) Albers 10) D Williams Imo, the 3 pitchers most important these last 10 games are Albers Black D Williams, in that order. Albers is critical because Counsell loves to use him. Period. And he hasn’t had command of his pitches the whole month of September. Black hasn’t pitched since giving up meatball hr’s on Sunday, another possible commandless non-option late in games that should only pitch while behind or way ahead. But Williams could be the wild card in all of this, looked like he gained some much needed confidence last night.
  4. If only he had his velocity LOL, right ... our favorite conclusion jumper did point that out, didn't he? Houser has sat at 95-96, occasionally touching 97 during his time in the bigs, and that's exactly where he's at tonight. 1st couple FB after wince, 92 93.
  5. They need to get houser out of there. Velo down.
  6. Ok, he’s a below ave player, not good, but still an upgrade over Arcia, because, anyone would be an upgrade over Arcia during the regular season. But, Maybe Arcia can flip the switch, in the playoffs, like he did last year.
  7. There were a few posters that mentioned him as an option, but only one that really got upset. Of course, he posted about it a lot, so it seemed like more consternation than it probably was. It was me. 2.8 million. That’s the total cost in prospects & money for Galvis. Don’t know what he would have done for MKE, but if no better, STILL AN UPGRADE over the worst hitter in baseball. My opinion. That includes a million $ buyout, or 5.5 million option for next year.
  8. Last year early September all the projections had us with a less than 10% chance at the division. This year it was what 6.8%. Computer can’t see the Stearns/Counsell September. Brewer’s confounding these Algorithms, this is Awesome, and comical at the same time. Although a little early to gloat.
  9. Yes, they seem virtually unbeatable at home right now, but they have gone 8-1 in their last 9 road games.
  10. Capable of a 2 and 9 finish? Really? 3 and 8 for sure, but 2 and 9?
  11. And getting a little rest, which should keep him strong. Isn’t this, right now, the best pen in the NL?
  12. Counsell going with Pomeranz to close was big. Having 2 closers is critical to this team moving forward. Now, if We can get Peralta to close, like he did once already this year, we’d really have something. But that might be asking too much. I’ll take having someone to close, other than Hader and not get too greedy. We’re developing our own 2019 version of last year’s 3 headed monster. Another dominating performance or two from Peralta and imo, we’ll have it > Pomeranz Peralta Hader. I mentioned this last night, but with each game, this bullpen is inching its way to being as dominant as last year’s pen, and in one way is better, having 4 LHP’s that are all throwing as well as ours are right now, we’ve never had before. No wonder Counsell is so confident in this bullpen, he can matchup like never before. With Woodruff back, this rotation is better than what we had last September going into October. Imo, we now have our best overall September pitching staff ever. And we’re not doing it with 14 pen arms either, 7-9 on a nightly basis, which bodes well for the postseason. This pitching staff can compete with anyone.
  13. Tim Kurkjian. Didn't see it but I heard he was clearly annoyed that the Brewers were winning again. Ken Rosenthal and John Heyman like the crew. Both said so. And Kevin Millar picked the brewers to win the World Series over the Twins, before the year started, and still is sticking with them. Says they just have the “it” factor. He can’t explain it.
  14. At least use some stats that are approaching being meaningful in that small sample. His average exit velocity is well below average at 83.6. His barrel rate is just awful, one of the worst in baseball. His xwOBA is .286 which is also well below average. His walk rate is downright ugly. The only really good thing he is doing right now is not striking out and that carries a good bit of value in today's game imo. His launch angle is also decent so he is at least hitting the ball in the proper plane. The samples are too small for any stat to really capture things so far but overall Dubon's stats don't paint a very pretty picture so far. You and Sveum and Lathund sure know your Analytic’s. I sure feel better after reading your analysis.
  15. No command all month. But Counsell keeps pitching him in high leverage. This is the one head scratcher I have with CC.
  16. Agree. I know Counsell has earned our trust, especially the month of September, but gosh, it would sure be nice to give the pen a rest.
  17. I’m expecting Woodruff to blow the Padres hitters away with the 50-60 pitches that he throws. Although, if he doesn’t I won’t be surprised, because he’s been out of the mix for 2 months.
  18. Will be, yes, by the end of 2021. Right now Cole DeGrom Buehler Verlander Scherzer Snell Maybe Greinke Maybe Strasburg. But by the end of next year DeGrom Verlander Scherzer Greinke Strasburg will be replaced by: Cole Buehler Woodruff Glasnow Snell. I thought the board made a pact to ignore this guy's nonsense? Saw it on all the social media networks, facetwit, snapbook, etc... Maybe some don’t want to be bullied by the 3-4 people on this site that get enjoyment from putting people down, you know, snarky, biting commentary or rude, crude verbiage. And then because that doesn’t shut them up, get the “pact”.
  20. This lineup is good enough to win a championship. Especially adding Woodruff to our September pitching staff.
  21. If Woodruff isn’t already in Ace, then I’m projecting him to be one next year or the following year. He’s been a stopper for us this year already and since May his era is ~ 3. Imo, Woodruff is as close to Cole as any pitcher in baseball. Cole’s Command is better, and has a better breaking ball, but Woodruff has a great change-up, throws just as hard, and his command is getting better. These two, imo, would not only be 2 of the top 3 pitchers in all of baseball on the same team, but would give us 6-8 innings starts, making our bullpen sickeningly good. This 30 million a year for the Yelich years couldn’t be spent any better imo. I really believe a title will happen by the end of 2021. Then trade Cole and Yelich and Hader > re-tool > 1 year, 2 at the most with Stearns at the helm and the prospects he could get for Hader & Yelich, And 30 million no longer in the budget with Cole.
