  1. I just posted a Jeffress update. It's possible that his pen session wasn't public. There is info on Nelson's minors start today all over Twitter from McCalvy. Of course there is nothing on the Kimbrel negotiations. Why in the world would they make anything from that public before it does or doesn't happen? One of two reasons: 1. The deal is done pending some minor contract language clarifications. 2. Kimbrel’s camp leaked it to get other teams interested I honestly believe #2 is the reason. 3. kimbrel’s camp upped his price with Knebel news #2 and #3
  2. Brewers in all likelihood gonna have to be a second half team this year. Between injuries and inexperience and schedule if they can just hang in there til deadline I have confidence stearns can do what’s needed to shore up any weakness. And sept look out = call em all up and reel off a 21-5 streak.
  3. Nothing on jeffress bullpen Nothing on Nelson minor league start Nothing on Kimbrel negotiations Can’t believe these beat guys this oblivious to the die-hard brewer fans. Whatever.
  4. So just to be clear, if Arcia is the black hole, and Hiura gets called up, who plays shortstop? Are you suggesting, and it won't really be all that shocking, that Hiura will be our SS in that scenario? If / when Hiura gets called up, it is to play 2B. Who plays SS? No, he's suggested in the recent past that Moustakas play SS. Because he played it in HS. Seriously. Arcia- .260-.300-15hr-15sb should be close to his line this year. Zero black holes this year.
  5. If they asked and given no answers they should have reported that then. So yes I blame the beat guys for the silence. I mean all 4 of them are there.
  6. No word Nelson start either?
  7. This has all the earmarks of a two year injury. One year of "let's try to rehab this" and another year after he actually has TJ surgery. Reality is we just wait and see what he second opinion is but I'm considering him out for the year unless I'm told otherwise. Have the TJ Corey, rehab like the maniac that you are, and come back throwing 100 for the second have of next year. We’re gonna need you then for the repeat.
  8. All quit on the western front with jeffress bullpen. Can’t believe McCalvy Rosiak Haudricourt Murray couldn’t give update by now. If he did his pen prob was this morning. Geez.
  9. Disagree with your take on our young guns. Seamless no. There will be growing pains, I think we all know this, but these 3 are gonna be studs this year. Woody is slightly ahead of the other two because of experience. He’s ace material THIS year. Burnes also potential ace but maybe not this year. I think, like woody can pitch deep cause of his good command.peralta once he commands his FB could be the best of the bunch. But without the command right now will struggle to go deep.
  10. I guess you could read it that way. I don’t understand the blame chase game here. Some of us are acting like he’s this scub pitcher and a potential bad apple. Polar opposite of bad apple and he’s a good above average pitcher.
  11. Burnes impressive. One bad pitch to turner, love the 9 ks.
  12. What’s going on with the Chase bashing? When has he complained about anything? You don’t know what your talking about. Stop.
  13. Anderson is another team first guy. I think he’s going to take to the bullpen like the proverbial fish to water. Uptick in velocity out of the pen certainly won’t hurt, he’s got good stuff he should do really well. Just as I never believe initial injury reports, I also never believe any "team first" stuff. Some players are very good at PR, some are not. Anderson could be (probably is) a team first guy, but for all we know he hates the idea of going to the pen. You must not of heard many interviews with chase, he’s awesome, smart, well spoken, and also a stand-up guy. When they asked him about not making the postseason roster, he said he was naturally disappointed, but understood the teams decision. No reason to be skeptical with chase’s Motives.
  14. Anderson is another team first guy. I think he’s going to take to the bullpen like the proverbial fish to water. Uptick in velocity out of the pen certainly won’t hurt, he’s got good stuff he should do really well. Do we have any non team first guys? Smartalec!
  15. Why only one year? Wouldn’t it be better for the Brewers to have him for multiple years? I mean he could help them win a lot more games over two or three years than one.
  16. Anderson is another team first guy. I think he’s going to take to the bullpen like the proverbial fish to water. Uptick in velocity out of the pen certainly won’t hurt, he’s got good stuff he should do really well.
  17. In all my despair about Knebel and excitement about the young rotation I forgot all about Nelson for a couple of hours. That may indeed be a good option this season but I'll bet he is itching to get back in the rotation. Yeah, but Nelson very much a team guy.
  18. Yes, sign Kimbrel and with Nelson we have our three headed monster back.
  19. Couldn’t have said it any better than this with any less words.
  20. Here I thought that the Brewers were being next-level proactive and value-driven, but apparently I was giving them too much credit. Signing Kimbrel now is the textbook definition of reactionary desperation. Disagree. It’s only money. Look at it like an investment to protect an investment. Brewers invested 29+ in moose and Grandal why? To win the series THIS year. If we overpay a little for Kimbrel to win the serie THIS year it’s worth the overpay. World Series could be worth 50-100 mil. If it goes south stearns can dump him and we be fine.
  21. This was the final straw for you? I guess my earlier opinions didn’t litter the board with overreactions after all.
  22. I’m sorry guys but they NEED to sign Kimbrel. Small trades, waiver claims and such not gonna be enough in my opinion. Barnes Williams Petricka Albers not closers. Fields prob not. Nelson our secret weapon. He could close today if we don’t sign kimbrel.
  23. Stearns and co have a plan of attack you can be sure of that. My guess: sign Kimbrel and move one of Burnes peralta woody Nelson Anderson to the pen. That would potentially make up for the loss of Jeffress and Knebel.
  24. I think all of us are well aware.
