  1. He looked great in ST, hard to believe he’s only 22, so I believe he’s as good an outfield prospect we have in our system.
  2. Keuchel has stated he’s willing to sign a one year deal. With reports that Kimbrel wants the multi-year deal, and Stearns M/O not to sign Pitchers to large multi-year deals, and with his familiarity with Keuchel from his Houston days, and with our need of a Starting pitcher that can consistently go deep and not to mention being a lefty with playoff experience > this makes a lot of sense to sign him. he’s also been pitching 100 pitch simulated games and probably could be ready after a couple starts in AAA. Reports are the Yankees Cardinals among other teams interested. It’s been so quiet with the crew on this front, which because of past history, leads me to believe it could happen.
  3. The idea of parting with the prospects required to acquire Smith when the first base position is the easiest position in baseball to upgrade doesn’t make sense to me. If the Brewers decide to upgrade at that position for this year, would think the rental route, higher salaried, middling prospect return would be the preferred route.
  4. Right on schedule. With yesterday's day at the plate (June 1) Hiura is now second only to Yelich in BA, SLG, and OPS. And he's just getting started. Wait until he cuts down on his strikeouts. I’m sold. Hoping things work out for him to stay up all of the rest of the year. Imo he’s needs ABs vs big league pitchers only, the adjustments he has already made are very much rookie Braun like, but he’ll need to make more and let’s get to it ASAP, because this could be the difference making bat this team needs for the playoffs. Good call TBBC.
  5. That’s what BA said with conviction during the broadcast yesterday and I believe him.
  6. I don’t believe the crew is going to recall Nelson at a minimum, until he’s back on 4 days rest between starts. When he’s on 4 days and recovering well, I would think his call-up would be imminent at that point. Hoping for a shakeup with the pitching staff. Chacín to the pen, replaced by Wilkerson, with Peralta to AAA to get stretched. Then when Nelson’s back, Anderson to the pen, with Burnes to AAA to stretch. That would potentially help the rotation go deeper with Wilkerson being more efficient with his pitches and Nelson being a potential horse again. The pen would have 3 starter arms and that alone should give much needed rest to Hader Jeffress Guerra.
  7. 1.) Woodruff 2.) Burnes 3.) Peralta 4.) Davies 5.) Houser 6.) Hader 7.) Rasmussen Pretty good group of young pitchers with woody being the old man of the group at 27.
  8. Hurdle great manager, that was the second 3-0 he gave the go ahead and both were ripped and almost home runs. Aggressive smart, gets a lot out of that team.
  9. This would be relevant if Hader got 3+ outs before imploding...but it took two batters. We get the point he was making, not specific to this game.
  10. He’s been outstanding in the minors his entire career. Saying he’s figuring it out this year is an insult to his body of work Agree, been very good in minors, but this year is just at another level.
  11. Good information. I knew we’ve been good pitching wise since the end of April, but that is being specific to the problem.
  12. Love the long ball. But it doesn’t have to be one or the other. Just look at the 82 team, first in hrs AND manufactured runs.
  13. Who cares how you get the runs so long as you get them. Your premise that there is only one way to create offense is just wrong. Offense is not the problem with this team. Worst in baseball at scoring the the runner at 3rd with less than 2 outs a problem. Worst in baseball with the bases loaded a problem. Virtually never manufacturing runs a problem. How many more wins with just a modicum of success in those areas?
  14. I would look a lot further. Using one series of baseball is a terrible way to make a judgement. Ok. Most of last year our offense worse than our pitching. Especially in the playoffs.
