  1. Wow. Ridiculous. Well, I'm guessing warnings will be issued before the game even starts if that happened after tonight's.
  2. I just read DodgerBlues...I love how those guys think Chris Smith has enough control to "go" for Ramirez's wrists. Dudes. None of it even makes sense--Ramirez had his first RBI in 11 games tonight, the Brewers aren't in the division or even competing with the Dodgers right now and there's still a game tomorrow while the Brewers are hanging on a string to their playoff hopes. Why on Earth would they plunk Ramirez much less try and injure him? Get off the grassy knoll, Dodger fans.
  3. I'm not particularly interested seeing anyone get a pitch thrown at their head. Period. That said, I doubt Macha has any purpose pitch thrown tomorrow--he hasn't shown much interest in getting involved in any beanball wars with the Pirates, I doubt he will with the Dodgers, esp. with this pretty much being the crossroads of the Brewers' season (although I'd argue it's done already).
  4. There was nothing dirty about it, but he makes those plays hard (seems he's always breaking up a DP at 2nd, surprise surprise) and I figured one of these days a team was gonna get chapped about it
  5. Wait, so they had Troncoso warmed up? I guess Torre is the punk/idiot.
  6. That's it, Mota is an idiot at best, a punk at worst. The Dodger fans applauding it behind home plate are garbage. Swindle and Smith are clearly just crummy pitchers. Prince took that pretty well, all things considering--he was kinda laughing after Mota: "What?!?"
  7. Wow, after sitting through this disaster I'm rewarded with Tales of Telly Hughes visiting The Price Is Right and a CBS Studio tour
  8. Wow, a reverse-M-M-M-M-Mota's In!/Baseballs Are In Flight! That's what happens when RJ Swindle and Billy Hall in RF meet
  9. Not sure what they showed on TV, but there was a guy dressed exactly like that at the game. He was way out in the Pavillion (their bleachers) and he put on that costume and started dancing. They showed him on the scoreboard labeled as "The Creature". When the inning was over, security went up to him and escorted him out as he was changing back to street clothes to a loud chorus of boos. They said on the radio after the game security told him to remove the mask which is against the rules. He may not have been kicked out of the game since he had a ticket to the reserved level as well and may have just gone back to his better seat. It was also not the same guy who wore the same costume at the Buick Open. It was pretty funny. Aha, Scully referenced this late in the game when you could hear the crowd roar and start booing, obviously not in regards to the game--"And there's something going on in the bleachers that we can't make out...someone is being taken away and heading home for their misdeeds. Not worth showing, folks."
  10. Man, nothing like winning the opener of a road series. I hadn't seen Manny pitch this well since he beat Lincecum and the Giants in SF last year...he must love being back on the West Coast.
  11. Haha, who else held their breath as Billy Hall was wobbling around out there? Sweet dreams, everyone
  12. I gotta say, I def. prefer Scully's call to BA/Rock. Sorry fellas.
  13. Had a good time down in San Diego despite the final score; amazing weather and I love that park. There were more Brewers' fans there on Saturday night than I've ever seen at any road game ever, including at Wrigley. I mean, a bunch. Some looked like SoCal locals, some looked like they had traveled from Wisconsin (and yes, I'm giving in to stereotypes there, although not casting aspersions!). I was listening to the Padres' radio network on the long drive home yesterday and it sounded like there were tons of Brewer fans yesterday as well, hooting and hollering during that 5-run inning.
  14. Which isn't saying much.No disagreement here. Like I said in the IGT, between Burns and Villanueva starting and a gassed pen, this has the makings of a long, shameful, horrific weekend.
  15. My, the bar is set low... If he can just keep his ERA under 7, I'll be happy! Sorry, I couldn't resist. It'd be a better start than Looper gave us tonight
  16. It's funny you mention that, because I was thinking the same. Nothing from Cameron, either, who usually is a vocal leader. Haven't even heard about any closed clubhouse meetings--but you wonder what kinda brawl would break out between the pitching staff and the everyday guys in a closed-door session after a loss like this?!? Well, absolutely atrocious. My blood pressure is through the roof knowing I'm driving 500 miles in the morning to see this farce.
  17. Burns and Villanueva the rest of the series with a gassed bullpen. This could be an incredibly angering, humiliating weekend.
  18. Jeez. And now I won't even get a save from Heath Bell for my fantasy team. I almost put that in blue but I'm in too rotten a mood.
  19. Not necessary. That said, I'm ready to shove my fist through some drywall. I thought the 36 runs in four home games (three against the Nats) last week was this pitching staff's nadir, but no. This is the worst offense in the NL, fellas.
  20. Man, what an absolute microcosm of the Brewers' season--starts a bit slow, and then have an amazing stretch early, and then look like absolute garbage for a loooong stretch thereafter. Let's see how this ends. Like the Brewers' season, I'm not optimistic.
  21. Uff da, I was hoping the return to SD would spark something in Gerut. Guess not.
  22. I definitely felt better about him at the plate that inning than Kendall before him.
  23. I know we're in dogpile mode here but Mujica made every Brewers' batter look like garbage that inning. The guy's having a particularly bad game in his worst year, but sheesh. Anyway, color me shocked that Looper made it through five with the lead in tact. Can't believe we've gotta use the pen for four after putting up a 7-1 lead after 1.5 innings.
