I certainly hope you are correct

Now we know why Milwaukee signed Margot … Perkins fractured his shin bone a few days ago & is out until early May. Perkins is one of my favorite Brewers players - this is sad news for me & costly to the Brewers depth.

Name Yer Brewer, Episode 1

Wasn’t Brock LH? -
If I recall correctly, the Brewers signed one of Prince Fielder’s sons last year. Where will he play this year? Is he in the ACL or will he be with a lower affiliate? What is his profile & is he a true prospect?

I saw Black play 3B when he was at AA Biloxi two years ago & he looked fantastic. He had decent range & a strong arm. He made all the plays that came to the hot corner. I left town impressed & excited that he may be able to help the Brewers at 3B in the future. Unlike many on this board, I am not as familiar with all the analytics & data that suggests he is not capable of playing there. As a lifelong baseball fan using my eyes only - Black was a man among boys that weekend. The only other player who stood out to me was Jefferson Quero. Both he & Black were exceptional. I would be thrilled if Black somehow won the job or at least was part of a 3B rotation. Hopefully, he can play adequate defense & hit well enough to get regular playing time in 2025.

2025 Minor League Transaction Thread
edfunderburk replied to Jim Goulart's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
This makes me happy. I like him more than 3 or 4 players at the bottom of our 40-man roster. I hope he gets another chance in 2025. -

Tigers 3B options (& maybe 1B too)
edfunderburk replied to edfunderburk's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
According to the MLB.com article I read, Colt Keith will move to 1B -
Happy New Year to you too 😏
-
I hope this deal is similar income to their previous deal so as to provide financial stability allowing us to spend more on payroll
-
If Detroit signs Alex Bregman to play 3B, they could become a trade partner with Milwaukee. Are any of these young players worth trading for? Matt Vierling, Zach McKinstry, Andy Ibáñez, & Jace Jung They may also be open to moving 1B Spencer Torkelson who doesn’t have a position (unless he becomes their DH). Colt Keith is moving to 1B to make room for Gleyber Torres at 2B.
-
I’m happy for him too but I’m not a Burnes fan IMO - he pouted as a Brewer & I always preferred Woody to Burnes personality wise And … I only like the Brewers 😏
-
Color me surprised I didn’t know the D’backs were in play for Burnes Now they get to lose to the Dodgers with a bigger payroll - but I admire their spunk The NL West is loaded
-
Won’t Yelich be our DH in 2026? I fear we may trade Contreras when his primary catching days are over.
-
I was hoping he [McKinven] would eventually replace Murphy instead of Weeks
-
That is hilarious - I wonder who is more uncomfortable - one of these two players or this lady?
-
Cubs add Tucker but lose Bellinger & Parades. Is that an upgrade?
-
Are we too worried about losing Willy's power?
edfunderburk replied to Playing Catch's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Here are the Steamer projections … oddly enough - Jake Bauers hitting six & he’s not on the roster
-
Chourio will likely hit more HRs & we hope to have a healthy Yelich too
-
If so - hopefully a LH bat … I can’t see a 3rd RH catcher being added
-
Even if his bat comes around - his defense is horrible … I would be thrilled if they could unload him … & I agree we need more power in the lineup
-
I certainly understand the logic here - but I love Perkins & still “hope” to see Frelick become a Molitor-type bat
-
YES to Mitchell over the injury-prone Robert

I was indeed wondering (curious as to the opinion of those in this forum) if Burke may be overlooked & a potential surprise candidate to make the big league roster sooner than expected with a big 2025 season. As a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan, my hope is he rises quickly & becomes a longterm solution at 1B for the Brewers.
