    Lots of regular posters don't post here anymore since the takeover. Clientele has changed a bit for sure.

    100% truth. People talking about how they used to be better, blaming all the new posters, etc is getting old. Anytime that people try and dictate to others how they should post, or be a fan, or whatever, there will be pushback, and it actually just makes it worse. If people hate the game threads so badly, stay away from them rather than post about how bad they are, what does that do to improve the quality of what is being posted? It's just ridiculous.

Get over yourselves, and it isn't just Brewcrew82, in the past hour or so, others have made the same type of comments. If it's so bad, why are you here?

    I'm going to type this at the risk of seriously offending the eternal optimists that post in the game threads: We can't rely on our strengths to win (pitching) and our average squad of bats can't get us there, so what do we have? Tired of hearing the Padres have the hardest schedule, so we have a shot crap too. We can't and don't take care of business when given opportunities, what makes anyone think this team, as it sits will suddenly wake up? If they came back and won this game tonight, I'd feel the same. This team is toast.

    I NEVER understand why people say this. Managers make tons of in game decisions that 100% does effect the outcome of games. I've seen people say this for years on this site and I could not disagree more.

    I wonder if this trade will sour the Padres on making future trades with Milwaukee? If the Brewers knew something, and moved him for the best offer they could get because of what they knew, and the Padres think that the Brewers did know something and traded damaged goods, can this bite us in the future?

    I agree with most that he is 100% safe, however, his star is fading in my eyes. Too many stupid moves and non-moves this year, which actually has been going on for a while, not just this year. Will he be fired after this year, nope, is he the God some are claiming, nope.

    Of course it came down to defense, we 'd hate to add a bat to the lineup that might spark the offense in some manner. Not that Mitchell won't be just fine with the bat, he might.

    I was curious to see whatever happened to these guys I remember back in 2015 when we used to think these guys were going to be absolute stars, and would turn us around! Looks like Orimoloye is out of baseball (actually a free agent and did play in 2021), and Lara is still part of the Nationals farm system playing AA in Harrisburg. Just trudging along.

    It's not about him fitting on our team, it's about the future ability to trade him for a piece that might actually play for us. This was a complete and total failure on so many levels. I used to have a lot of faith in the upper management, but cutting Lamet after the Hader trade, and now this, I no longer have that faith. It's the opposite now to be honest.

    I keep seeing this take, and it just plain saddens me. This is what we pin our hopes on. "get hot at the right time and who knows" Just plain sad.

    If what you are saying is true, and the current forums are outperforming the 2021 forums, I really find that hard to believe. It sure doesn't feel that way, and it feels more like we have half the participation as years past. Heck, the game threads are a snoozefest with nowhere near the amount of posts as in the past. (that could be because of the few posters who try to dictate how people post, that becomes a drag) Or, my perception is just wrong, which also wouldn't surprise me.

    Taking 3 of 4 vs STL means we only gain one game in the standings, correct? Anything less than 4 wins does us no good at all. That way we gain 4 games.

    In all honesty, I hope Ruiz gets traded this off season. I am waiting for the day that Wiemer, Frelick, and Mitchell are our starting OF, Ruiz can get traded off and I won't be hurt.

    Our problem is, we have probably 3 guys that should be our primary DH. (Hiura, Yelich, and Renfroe) Obviously, that won't work. Yelich is a crappy fielder now, and will only get worse, but I don't have enough faith in management to realize this for another year or two. My guess is that Frelick and Turang start out on the big team. Either Turang is our super sub across multiple positions like Peterson is now, or he starts out as our everyday 2B. My true feelings are that he is our super sub. No way Yelich becomes our primary DH just yet, I think he is penciled in as the daily LF. Frelick in CF, and Renfroe in RF. Taylor will be our 4th OF, and Ruiz will be up as soon as there is an injury. Wiemer and Mitchell will probably be on the cusp of making it to the big team all season, and will more than likely get their chance due to injuries at some point. I want Hiura to be out primary DH.

    What is the deal with Jackson Chourio? Hasn't played with the t-rats since August 17th. Injured? If so, how severe? I can't find anything anywhere about it.
