  1. How long before Kelly gets moved to Biloxi? Every time he starts, I think it is his last in Appleton.
  2. I think he was still pissed about the other ball that was called a strike..
  3. Posts like this need to stop. It's bad enough we have people calling others out for comments made months ago, but then to continue? Like anyone gives a crap. EDIT: Sorry for chiming in, didn't know it had already been addressed by Brock.
  4. Nope, nope and nope. No way I give up Frelick or Wiemer, and I'd think really hard about Mitchell as well. Reynolds alone won't push this team to the world series, he'd be a nice start, but we are 2-3 bats away from being a legit contender. If all we are planning is to get Reynolds, then I am "all out" on trading any of our top guys, not just the ones listed above.
  5. Olson and Henry still could be guys we wish we had back, especially for what we got back for them. Lopez is the obvious choice for best player we've traded imo.

  7. No one (Brewers and fans) wants to admit it, but it is just too expensive to go to multiple games anymore. I used to go to 10+ per season (pre 2020 all the way back to the 80's), and that is with a 2 hour drive one way. Now, I plan to go to one this year. One game, with 95% of the reasoning being cost. That isn't just because gas is so high, it's because tickets are so high, parking is so high, concessions are so high, and I'm tired of once I get to my seats, the constant streaming of people in and out of their seats in front of me the entire freaking game. A long time ago, the ushers only let people move in and out of their seats at the half inning marks. If someone left to go get beers, popcorn, whatever, the ushers didn't let you go back to your seat until the half inning was over. Now people have no consideration for those around them and just get up and sit down whenever they feel like it. Seriously, it happens so often that this is just another reason I don't go to many games anymore.
  8. Imo, Turang is too much. Benintendi alone isn't enough to fix our offensive issues. I think it's frightening as hell as to what we are going to have to give up to get a couple of bats at the deadline. I just feel impending disaster on the horizon if we give up any of our big prospects. (Small, Wiemer, Frelick, Mitchell, or God help us Chourio)
  9. The thought of trading any of our stud farm hands for a rental scares me to death. I simply do not view this team as a world series contender without adding 2-3 real-live-actual stud bats, plus at least one stud bull pen arm to this line-up. I do not think there is one player out there who can push us to that level offensively.

  11. Believe it or not Yelich is outplaying Bellinger by a wide margin this year. Bellinger has been complete garbage for two seasons now, comparable to Yelich, but far worse. At least Yelich has settled into his new "lead off and can only hit singles now" role. I'm not sure what Bellinger's contract looks like, but if they signed him long term like we did with Yelich, I'd rather keep Yelich. If it was only one year that we had to pay Bellinger, then we could let him walk, I'd take that swap even up just to be rid of the Yelich contract.
  12. Just found this little nugget. If the Yankees are "serious" contenders, I doubt we are. The vax thing could improve our chances, but I highly doubt the mighty Yankees would let that deter them from getting a guy they want. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Yankees have emerged as "serious contenders" to acquire Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi. The 28-year-old All-Star continues to draw interest from a variety of teams and looks increasingly likely to be dealt before the trade deadline. Benintendi is unvaccinated though and would not be able to travel to Toronto for the Yankees three-game set against the Jays in September -- or in any potential playoff matchup. He's slashing .319/.389/.402 with just three homers, 39 RBI and two stolen bases (in four attempts) on the season. SOURCE: Mark Feinsand on Twitter Jul 23, 2022, 12:19 PM ET
  13. Haven't posted in a while, however, I beg to differ on a couple issues being mentioned above. Up until 3 or 4 years ago, I had gone to an average of 10 games or so per season. That was reduced to 2 or 3 the past 3 or 4 years, and now I'm down to one game per season. Reason? Cost and nothing else. I'm about 2,5 hours away from AMFAM. I can't take a family of 4 to a Brewers game for less than $250-$275. Well, of course you can, but who wants to go to a game and not partake into normal game day things like food, decent tickets, etc. The cost does stop people from attending games and I know a lot of people that have pretty much done the same thing as me. Just plain cut down to bare bones or stopped going all together. If the Brewers and people here think that the cost of going to games doesn't prohibit people from going, they would be incorrect.
  14. Losing Severino isn't a season killer, but if he plays 33% of our games, it is a difference maker. Now we have to find a guy that can produce the same at this late date. So no, our season isn't over, and I haven't seen anyone say it is, but it does factor in.
  15. It was not the red jersey. He has added a lot of weight. He may now be referred to as the "Mayor of Ding Dongs"
  16. I already admitted I was wrong about Garcia in a different thread, but thanks for being thorough.
  17. My point is that I stated that he would not play 100 games this year, and was told I was wrong. That is my point, my point is that! He will not be playing 100 games, far less, and the same will more than likely be true next year as well.
  18. With 40 games left to play, it looks like Cain will not even come close to 100 games played. He has played in 47 so far this season. With 40 left, the most possible is 87. He will surely get some rest days in the last 40. Probably another nagging injury or IL stay. I'd say 80 games will be his cap.
  19. I never thought I'd say it, but I hope he is back in 2022. If it is at all possible to get rid of JBJ, or even Cain, I'd be all for it. LF Yelich, CF Cain/Taylor, RF Garcia. Taylor can fill any off days for the other guys.
  20. What the cubs are doing DOES have a bearing on what we do from here on out. I think it's funny when people act like what the Cubs and Cards do early in the season means nothing. All games matter. Every single game does in fact have a bearing on the final standings. We can kid ourselves and think otherwise, but they all count.
  21. I'm all in on Mancini for 1B. That would be my number one choice.
