  1. We went into this season with no 3B and no true 1B, two offensive positions. (I do understand that Hiura sucking as bad as he has wasn't fully expected, but the writing was on the wall based on last season) We absolutely needed one more bat at either position. What do we do instead, sign JBJ, another outfielder with no bat. Shaw has worked out, but what a question mark that signing was. You can make all the excuses you want for anyone you want but the plan going in was questionable. I am not fully blaming any one person, but I don't think the plan that we started the season with offensively was a good one. Hiura or Yelich goes down and we are screwed. Just so happens that what has happened with both of them could quite possibly ruin the season. What was our back-up plan if Hiura (a guy who has never played 1B) didn't work out? Vogelbach our full time 1B? Our 1B plan was horrible, and we are now paying the price. Shaw can play 1B, ok great, but then that leaves us with no 3B. It is what it is.
  2. Mancini would be a great acquisition. Gallo and his K's wouldn't thrill me. Blackmon to play 1B perhaps? Has he ever done so. We certainly don't need another outfielder.
  3. Staying in shape is different than baseball shape and hitting. I doubt Braun would be able to step right in without some extended hitting time.
  4. Jesus has been kicking butt all season long. Check his stats. I can only wonder what it would be like to have him on the roster now.
  5. Like has been mentioned, I really hope they have looked at the possibility his eyes are messed up. I would certainly hope a MLB training staff would think of that as one possible source of his ineptness.
  6. Once again, not having a legit 1B rears it's ugly head in WW pick-ups. Gets old. Tyrone Taylor better be getting reps at 1B in AAA.
  7. If we are seeing the real Tyrone Taylor, who has more value this season, Taylor of JBJ?
  8. I'll take the under, but my predictions have been quite suspect lately.
  9. I am a big Burnes fan, but if he tested positive, which I'm assuming means he didn't get the shots, shame on him. Way to let the team down Corbin.
  10. Eating crow. Tasty! If it means a Brewers win, I'll gladly have a second helping.
  11. By rectify I mean put it to rest. Admit you messed up and be done with it.
  12. Their rotation is full of young, lively arms with high upside. Alacantra, Rogers, Lopez, Sanchez, and Hernandez. Once Sanchez gets back from the minors, that is a really good young rotation. Grab a couple bats and they will be tough down the road.
  13. The ump should have just come forward and said it looked like interference live, but when I see it on tape, I screwed up. That would go a long way in rectifying the situation. To double down on it though makes him look like a fool.
  14. Looking forward to seeing the final minor league rosters.
  15. This is getting kind of funny. Everyone knows that call was stupid. It is interesting that we have people who say it was the dumbest call ever, and we have people actually justifying it. There is no way that should have been called, just no possible chance that any other umpire on the face of this earth would have made that call on that specific play.
  16. Yes, the Dodgers - a team that Eric Lauer has perhaps inexplicably absolutely owned in his short career, in a sample size that you can actually derive a trend from. Ok then, we will see what happens.
  17. An opportunity against the Dodgers of all teams though?
  18. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Lauer will get absolutely shelled today. 2 innings tops. Then what? Give him another start? Godley wasn't going to get another start after his crapshow yesterday, so he wasn't an option going forward. If Lauer is as bad as I am expecting, who's next? Lindblom?
  19. I see your point. We all knew Anderson would have a trip or 5 on the IL this year, so being caught with our pants down predictible. Same thing with Cain and Yelich, however, I don't think we had to spend the $ we did on Bradley, a defensive wizard but nothing else. We could have gotten a cheaper option for a reserve OF and spent the cash on a starting pitcher. Either way, we were doomed from the start, which goes back to my "poor planning" statement.
  20. It feels like we are just conceding two games in a row with our last two starters. Is this really the best we can come up with? If so, poor planning. One starter goes down with an injury and we are left with total and complete garbage to fill out the rotation? Maybe rather than going out and getting an all defense outfielder that we didn't really need, we should have put some cash into a starting pitcher?
  21. Why on earth did we keep Maile and dump Nottingham? Makes no sense.
