  1. Out of nowhere? He wasn't very good last year. Hasn't been good this year. I wouldn't call that out of nowhere or surprising. Taylor has earned some playing time. If Counsell is too stubborn to see it, it's a very sad day.
  2. So restorative justice then? The difference between today's behaviors and behaviors from the past. Not only in baseball, but life as well. Consequences have become a thing of the past.
  3. That's baseball. Hot streaks and cold streaks. It will happen to us too.
  4. Isn't that part of the problem? Too many parents think their kids will be playing sports in college. Getting scholarships, etc. Very few do, which is part of the issue. Too many parents have unrealistic expectations about their kid's ability and do not understand the odds of actually playing sports in college. (other than intramurals of course.)
  5. Burnes is "must see tv." Tyrone is a must start, please give Garcia bench time after the stunt he pulled yesterday. CC doesn't usually punish guys for that kind of thing, but it must be done. Make a statement.
  6. I hope we get good Anderson again today! This has been a fun season. Way better than I expected to this point.
  7. I was just coming here to post this. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is on his mind and making it hard to play baseball. If your mind isn’t 100% in it, you’re not going to succeed with how overpowering pitchers are these days. No doubt. I feel like I've been pretty hard on Hiura, and have been down on him. Sometimes we forget that most of these guys are in their early to mid 20s, with all the emotions and drama that everyone deals with at that point in their lives. Being a professional athlete doesn't insulate you from having to deal with a lot of the same types of problems everyday people have to deal with. I always appreciate when a pro ballplayer is willing to open up and share some of their personal life with the fanbase. It makes me cheer for them all that much more. A lot of people have been hard on him, but no one knew his personal situation. No reason to beat yourself up over comments made previously.
  8. Wasn't meant as a criticism or attack in any way. Was a serious question.
  9. and played stellar defense. He has had some clutch hits, not just 2 homers. Yes, it's early, he could fade, but has looked great so far.
  10. Thanks David Stearns. I didn't know we had Brewers brass posting on these boards.
  11. Why is it acceptable terminology to call the "British variant" the BRITISH variant? It is considered poor taste to call COVID the "Chinese Virus," or mention China in any way connected to the virus, yet it seems perfectly fine to label it British when talking about the variant. Or what about the South African variant? Same thing. I don't understand the difference. Are the British up in arms being attached to the variant? Are the South Africans upset?
  12. POUR IT ON!
  13. I'd make any one of Cain, JBJ and Garcia available for trade. Trading partner take your pick! With the emergence of McKinney and Taylor, we don't need them all. If that means getting a legit 1B or 3B, do it. If that means getting a #3 or #4 starting pitcher that is better than what we currently have, do it. I can't see anyone come calling for Cain or Bradley, but just in case they do, do it.
  14. It didn't help him that once he did have a good game, the following day he was benched because that is what was planned. I'm not saying that would have saved him, but it wouldn't have hurt to allow him to try and build on that game.
  15. Once the minor league teams get in full motion, I predict Hiura goes to AAA until he figures some things out. It has to be done, for the good of the team, and himself. He's a train wreck, an absolute train wreck. Time to get fixed.
  16. Can he play a serviceable 1B? That is my question. If so, he is just that much more valuable. We have such a log jam in the OF once Yelich and Cain return. Yelich, Cain, Garcia, Bradley, McKinney, and Taylor. If McKinney can play a decent 1B, that would help in the quest to get him in the line-up. Hiura has to be sent down if his struggles continue. We just can't have him doing what he is doing at the MLB level.
  17. Soon, people will start calling for one of them to be traded. Got to stock the farm. We are not used to having nice pitchers at the top. Brewers fans don't know how to act when we do.
  18. Taylor also plays good defense. He isn't a slouch out there.
  19. Going to NOBODY tonight on $5 Tuesday.
  20. TT needs to play. They have the perfect opportunity to get him some extended at bats. It is basically now or never. Once Cain and Yelich get back, he will go back down unless he forces his way on the daily roster. The Bradley signing puzzles me to this day.
  21. My plan is to DVR them past 10:30, then avoid all media until I watch them when I get home from work. There is no chance anyone at work will tell me what happened as not one Brewer fan exists where I am employed. It's a blessing and a curse.
  22. I wonder since the vaccine effects so many differently, if you have severe reaction, does that mean that COVID would have effected you severely too? I don't know the answer, just wondering. It seems that there are a lot of people that have no problem with the vaccine, and there are a lot of people that do.
