  1. They'll just option Suter. No need for a 5th starter anytime soon since the team finally has off days coming up. My thought as well. Or send someone like Barnes down if they want to keep Suter as a lefty in the pen. With Shaw day-to-day after being removed last night, does it make more sense to keep the extra infielder on the 25-man?
  2. Assuming Blazek goes down, but... what about Guerra down and let Blazek make his start this weekend?
  3. Was hoping the Dolittle/Madson trade would net the A's their centerfielder so Brinson would no longer be an emphasis for them in a Gray deal. No such luck.
  4. A little surprised no mention of a Brewers scout in attendance with Gray starting last night "With scouts from the Astros, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers and Blue Jays among those on hand at the Coliseum, Sonny Gray put together another strong start and in doing so probably hastened his departure from Oakland. The Cubs are among the teams that have significant interest in Gray. Although they did not have a representative in the scouts’ section Friday, they have followed him diligently during the past month." Maybe Brewer scouts were there and this just another case of a media individual not realizing Milwaukee actually leads the National League Central http://www.sfchronicle.com/athletics/article/Trade-target-Sonny-Gray-superb-in-A-s-win-over-11290601.php&cmpid=twitter-premium
  5. What's realistic asking price for Gray? With his years of control left, would he be worth trying to get?
  6. Beat me by "that much" Assuming Bandy goes down to try to get his offense back on track.
  7. per mlbtraderumors.com https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/brewers-claim-stephen-vogt.html
  8. Any chance as I sit here at Miller Park, that I just witnessed Nick Franklin's last Brewers at-bat? (Said hopefully)
  9. With adding Suter as a lefty in the pen, does that make it more likely that Millone stays in the rotation and Garza heads to the pen?
  10. Brewers Record: 76-86 Playoffs: No Brewers MVP: Braun Brewers CY Young: Davies Brewers ROY: Brinson. Takes over right field from Santana by end of the season. First player traded: Gennett Surprise player: Thames puts up All-Star type numbers (although he isn't selected to play) Disappointing player: Perez doesn't take the next step due to return of low OBP. Santana struggles with strike outs and loses job to Brinson. World Series: Red Sox over Cubs
  11. I'll echo the reasons mentioned by Hawing and Patrick as why we continue with our 20-game pack. Playoff priority and the help of our ticket rep are big reasons we continue as a season seat holder, but a right there with it is the fact that we enjoy sitting in the same spot each game. Not because of the view, but due to the people that sit around us. We have bonded with 10 other season seat holders and it adds to the game experience. In fact, we meet this weekend at Fridays for our annual "winter get-together". With a 2.5 hour drive to the park, these fellow Brewer fanatics add alot to our game enjoyment.
  12. Couldn't agree more. My daughter was able to make her dubsmash debut in what I felt was an award-winning performance as a raptor. Dillard has a great sense of humor and has always been a great guy to talk to during the couple of times I've been able to talk with him.
  13. Don't want to turn this into a Cecchini thread but couldn't agree more with reilly. Here's the comparison with Hernan Perez as the two of them are within a month of the same age. 2012 - 21 yrs old GC = A ball .394/.433/827 HP = A+ ball .298/.338/..636 2013 - 22 yrs old GC = A+ ball .469/.547/1.016 AA ball .420/.404/.825 HP = AA ball .325/.423/.747 2014 - 23 yrs old GC = AAA ball .342/.371/.712 HP = AAA ball .331/.404/.735 2015 - 24 yrs old GC = AAA ball .286/.296/.583 HP = MLB .257/.327/.584 2016 - 25 yrs old GC = AAA ball .325/.380/.705 HP = MLB .302/.428/.730 Wish Cecchini had been given a shot to compete at MLB level last year to see what he could have done with the chance. Afraid now we won't know if he heads somewhere else. Maybe it won't "click" for him again, but maybe it will. Thought Nicholas Zettel said it perfectly in BP Milwaukee article http://milwaukee.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2016/10/17/grading-trades-i-inventory/
  14. Asked Cecchini if he had heard anything about a call up. Said he knew nothing. "Have to ask Stern as he's the only one that knows. Would love to be there."
  15. Back to Principle Park again today. Last night was definitely "lackluster". Wang wasn't hit hard early, but the defense didn't help him at all. Has an autograph seeker ask Cecchini if it was true that "Hader had left" but answer was "he's sick".
  16. My wife & I made the 4 hour drive from SW Wisconsin to see the Sky Sox tonight and tomorrow. First time at a AAA game. Excited.
  17. ‏@Ken_Rosenthal No word yet on status of Lucroy trade. Possible #Indians getting both him and Miller. Possible Lucroy deal falling apart.
  18. This would end the Smith to the Indians talk. Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal BREAKING: Andrew Miller to #Indians.
  19. Also, no Manny Pina in the SkySox lineup. Quick who is at the airport in Colorado?
  20. Any reason given for this? Cecchini had doubled and scored in the previous inning. Round Rock Top of the 8th Defensive Substitution: Brandon Macias replaces first baseman Garin Cecchini, batting 5th, playing first base. Seemed strange with a 10-0 lead at the time and Cecchini due to hit again in the bottom of the 8th. Injury? (Of course at the time the conspiracy theorist in me wondered if it meant a Carter trade or the Brewers finally deciding that Middlebrooks and/or Wilkins had enough time to show what little they could offer the big league club)
  21. With my wife, I'm leading 14 students on a trip through Germany so I'm sure all of these trades will happen before I return next Tuesday so I can't dissect each one right away. Thinking Lucroy Hill and two bullpen arms get moved by August 1st.
  22. Kind of thought it would be Will Middlebrooks as assumed he has an opt out date. Bringing an RH infielder makes so much more sense than the redundancy of Nieuwenhuis, Flores, & Presley.
  23. I'm more interested in an off-shoot of Wilkins in the outfield. It has meant Cecchini has been logging many innings as the first baseman lately. Is Middlebrooks that much better defensively at 3rd? Are the Brewers thinking of Cecchini more as a left-handed platoon option at first should Carter generate great trade interest?
  24. This USA Today article makes it sound like Lucroy is shocked to still be here. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/columnist/bob-nightengale/2016/03/23/reds-jay-bruce-brewers-jonathan-lucroy-trade-rumors/82156896/ Doesn't have place to live in Milwaukee lined up yet. Talks of 3 team trade involving Astros and Braves from a month ago.
  25. YoungGeezy1 Sounds like we are the two co-presidents of the Cecchini fan club. He is the one I'm watching the closest this spring to see if the change of teams/wide open 3B position can get him back to doing what he had done in the minors before last year. Would love to see his LH bat and high OBP play out at a #2 hitter in the lineup.
