  1. Well that's about right. Unreal. A foot higher or to the left and that's almost certainly a three run double. When it rains it pours I guess sometimes huh. He drilled it, but that's 3 huge spots to hit a sac fly in the late innings of the last 2 games and we've failed at all of them.
  2. Wow, walking Gennett here? I know the lefty/righty splits and this sets up the DP, but putting the go ahead run on with only 1 out in the 8th? Pretty interesting. This seems like a spot where Davis will either connect with one for a 3 run bomb or strike out on three pitches, lol.
  3. Lol well I don't know if it would be a season killer this early. It would certainly suck though I guess in my mind, I'm waiting for the bottom to fall out on this team, as I still have my doubts as to how good they really are. They've played really mediocre the last 2 weeks or so, and having back to back super tough losses could be what breaks our backs so to speak. I agree in that he shouldn't have bunted in that AB, but that was a pretty poor AB by Gomez.
  4. Braun hit an opposite field HR in Atlanta, snuck one over the wall in the corner. He really hasn't been pulling the ball that well, which I think is sucking away his power. He's hitting gaps, but he seems to be altering his swing quite a bit. Come on Brewers, we gotta find a way to win this game, this really could be a season killer after yesterday's debacle.
  5. Well, in fairness...the inning should have been over. And any competent manager would have taken him out of the game and not allowed him to give up a 3 run HR. But we have Ned Yost 2.0. RR has very clearly shown a new level of ineptness the last week and if we lose this one, that's 4 games I put almost squarely on his shoulders. Give me a break. Garza was starting to give it up 2 innings before that bomb. He does this every single start in one form or another, at some point you have to trust your 50 million dollar man can make it through a start without imploding...really looking like a bunch of money pissed down the Suppan. Uh, as you clearly state, he WAS starting to give it up already. Why would you keep him in the game with 2 guys on, a tiring pitching losing command that's already thrown 105+ pitches? I'm pissed too but to blame this one entirely on Garza is silly. Segura made a poor throw. RR made an awful decision. Garza gave it up, yes, but if it's a trend as you very clearly seem to think it is for Garza to do this every start, then RR should know that and take him out of the game. Come on Braun, let's put us back on top.
  6. Well, in fairness...the inning should have been over. And any competent manager would have taken him out of the game and not allowed him to give up a 3 run HR. But we have Ned Yost 2.0. 7. Garza was clearly gassed and losing it in the 6th inning. He probably shouldn't have been in at all in the 7th and he certainly shouldn't have stayed in after the trouble. Missed DP or not, he should have been out of the game. Why is it the entire world can see it except for Ron?
  8. Botch a double play. Leave Garza in even though he's clearly tired and we're losing. After yesterdays debacle, losing this one legitimately could be the beginning of the end of the season. We're literally just giving away games left and right over the last week. Ron couldn't figure out how to do a double switch so Smith could come into the game in the 7th? Garza had clearly fading over the last 2 innings. It's like we have Ned Yost all over again. NOW he double switches!?!?!?
  9. It's not totally uncharted territory for a cf to post big power numbers...ken Griffey jr did it for years. Not saying Gomez is him, but cf have hit for power. There are certainly others too.
  10. These games right here are what cost you. We had ample chances to score in the 8th and 9th inning and can't hit a simple sac fly (and horrible base running in the 9th by Herrera doesn't help). Then we fail to play no doubles in two situations and both times it costs us - plus Davis missing that Hardy drive by about an inch it seems. I'm so infuriated right now.
  11. Nice job brewers. Good grief. Asinine on all accounts. Why have the infield completely in with the go ahead run at second?? Weak ground ball and were losing. Infield back it's only one run. This loss is all on roenicke IMO. I'm actually mad enough to turn the game off.
  12. Can't move a guy to the 60 day DL if he was put on the DL while in the minors. I can't cite that but I know it was brought up elsewhere either on this board or over at BCB. I believe they would have to activate him onto the MLB roster, then move him to the DL. He would then accrue service time and his full MLB salary.
  13. The Brewers can't just falsify an injury report, but any player can claim to have a "tired arm" or a "sore shoulder". Doesn't mean an x-ray would show anything, but it happens all the time. Wang would still get to collect his full salary during the entire process too.
  14. I'm not sure Hamilton is the guy, but whenever Uecker retires, they need to get someone to pair with Block. He simply isn't good alone, but has been much better in the paired setting.
  15. The Bucks will be in the top 10 again next year for sure. Take the pick at 2 (it's likely to be significantly better than anyone in next year's draft). Hopefully move back up into the first round and take another guy in the 20 range. Then hopefully pick in the top 5 next year and now you're potentially onto something.
  16. Yes, the Bucks are way more than 1 player away...but only the top 4 guys supposedly have superstar potential - and that's something the Bucks clearly need. Sure, they could flop. And sure, guys after that could very well be stars and all stars and all that. But if you're the Bucks...you have new owners, you need a new arena. You need a star (or at least a perceived star) that the fans can get behind. To me, that's Wiggins or Parker. I prefer Wiggins. I've heard Philly really loves Wiggins. If Embiid does go one, do we make a trade with them? They have the third and tenth picks? Who knows. But I completely agree, you don't trade out of the top 4 this year unless it's an offer that you literally can't turn down. If anything, I say try to move a couple of our second rounders and a player (maybe Ersan?) to move back into the first round if possible.
  17. Where are you seeing this? Not doubting you at all, but on ESPN, Ford is saying he's hearing they like Wiggins. Who knows after last year, Cleveland gave no real indications and then totally bombed the first pick.
  18. One of Herrera or Bianchi has to be on the roster. They can't have Segura as the only option to play SS. Aside from that, I agree with everything said. Overbay simply doesn't have it any more and brings nothing to the table. Bianchi really never had it and was only kept to play SS - at least Herrera can play the same positions (plus OF) and has speed. He's not very good either, but he's more valuable than Bianchi and it's not close. Getting 40 man spots is pretty easy - Hellweg can still be put on the 60 day DL, Overbay and Bianchi can be just outrighted or cut to clear spots if necessary too. Green and/or Morris can't possibly do any worse. What are we waiting for?
  19. I agree 100%. Unfortunately from what I keep reading, the Bucks really like Embiid. I wonder if the Cavs can somehow convince themselves they need him - they actually already have a ton of scoring on that team as it is without much of an inside presence.
  20. Wiggins is really the player the Bucks need - I just don't see how Cleveland passes on him unless they think they can resign Deng to play SF.
  21. Can't complain too much about third, but Cleveland winning the "lottery" 3 times in 4 years (and 4 times in 11 years) is pretty ridiculous. I think the NBA has made up to them enough already for Lebron leaving. I thought I didn't care, but I would have been much happier with Wiggins, who I assume the Cavs take. Though looking at mocks...it seems clear that nobody really knows. ESPN seems to think Embiid will be the Bucks pick if he is there - that doesn't make me overly happy. He seems to have a lot of red flags and we seemingly have a bunch of defense first big men already. CBS seems to think Cleveland can't possibly pass on Embiid with Wiggins going to the Bucks. It also has us drafting CJ Wilcox, Isiah Austin and Russ Smith in the second round. Yahoo has Parker 1, Wiggins 2 and Embiid 3.
  22. Going to probably be the case tonight with Bianchi and Overbay in the lineup. It's just baffling to me that we won't let someone else take those roster spots - they can't do any worse.
  23. I think at the time most just assumed that Hart was going to return - mainly because Hart stated he wanted to do so if we were interested...then he bolted (though he's not exactly ripping the cover off the ball right now either). Once he left, yeah, we were screwed. Melvin seemingly had no real backup plan. The annoying part is that we're still sitting here near the end of May and haven't done anything about it. Reynolds and Overbay have both been about as we expected - BAD. Reynolds has some value with his power and ability to play third (actually played it well so far), while Overbay is getting benched in favor of Lucroy. Why bother keeping him then??? Why not let Green or Morris come up and see what happens? It's not like they'll do any worse. I really wonder about Morales - doesn't seem like we're overly interested but I sure hope so.
