  1. Weather doesn't exactly look good for tonight. Might be getting an off day before the Cubs series here...
  2. Carrying 2 mediocre catchers as backups would annoy me a great deal as well. Simply no need for it. I don't think very highly of Bandy or Vogt and losing either one wouldn't even make me blink an eye quite frankly.
  3. Well not that I want an injury, and he's been hitting well. But 1b is a position we could cover between Aguilar, Braun and Choi (who I assume gets called up).
  4. I agree. Weird part is Arcia has stated he's fine and able to play. Yet this is his fourth day off now - that's almost half the DL stint already. What will it take for Sogard to hit himself off the roster? He's gotta be getting close. Highly disappointed in the Aguilar not playing. He's red hot, clearly been our best hitter of late (and maybe all season) and he can't get a start in a game where we have a DH??
  5. Bullpen has been great but I am also concerned about the amount of innings. The starters just need to start pitching further into games somehow. I also agree that Suter really shouldn't be in the rotation...Woodruff should probably get another shot or Miley if they think he's the answer (I have my doubts on this) but I just don't see Suter as an MLB starting pitcher. He really hasn't gotten unlucky either, seems like he gives up a lot of hard hit balls so far this season.
  6. Cowboys just released Dez Bryant. Not advocating Packers should sign him, but it's interesting to think about. Packers were in on several other WR earlier so it's not impossible but I think his asking price will be too high.
  7. This isn't about a tracker but more fitness related and I didn't want to start a new thread. Short version...I'm heading to a wedding in Mexico in August and my arms/chest just don't look how I'd like them to with my shirt off. If anyone could give me some help in the best ways to build arm muscles fast (I know I won't be huge obviously) I would appreciate it - we can chat in private if you want to PM me. I googled it of course, but there's so much out there it made my head spin!!
  8. They basically said he wasn't playing today already. Let's just hope it's only a day or two. Not the worst timing with Lester on the mound anyways.
  9. Agree on Arcia and I vented about it quite heavily a few days back. It's ridiculous that he's already gotten 2 days off in the first week of the season. His defense alone should put him on the field every single day. I also don't understand the infatuation that Counsell has with getting Sogard playing time. What exactly did he do to earn it?? He had one amazing month last year, then reverted more or less back to his career norms of being an entirely below average hitter with very little power and marginal defense. I don't get it quite frankly. I also know Braun's numbers this year aren't great, but he's now hit two monster 9th inning HR, and promptly got put on the bench the next day. I get that it's matchups, but why not try to get him hot and ride it out? He's carried the team before on his hot streaks.
  10. Happ isn't going anywhere. He's doing the 1000% right thing here. He can get advice from NBA scouts and talent evaluators on where he'd be picked and what he needs to improve upon for next year. I believe Nigel Hayes did the same thing. He'll go through the process, see what they say and then almost certainly return to school as I see virtually zero chance he gets a first round grade.
  11. Trade or not, I don't think that has anything to do with him not playing today. Counsell loves to double up the days off for him, and with a righty on the mound, it makes sense to give Thames a start.
  12. Let's assume the rumors are real and the trade goes through. Are we certain Braun would even accept it? I know he's said he would but Braun has to be excited about the shape of the Brewers roster with Yelich and Cain, especially knowing that they can add pitching potentially. Granted, he could hate 1b, but it doesn't seem like he does. And it lets the Brewers put a great lineup out there when he can play there. I'm not convinced he wouldn't exercise his veto right.
  13. As others have said, it’s 3 days into the season...why start messing around already? Pina fine if he’s dinged up but the Arcia move annoys me greatly. And Cain at leadoff is working great, why mess with it?
  14. Not a fan of today’s lineup in any way. Dislike Arcia already getting a day off...especially for what is a pretty big downgrade defensively with Sogard at as. Also would much rather see Cain stay at the top than Thames. And with a day off tomorrow, not sure why Pina can’t catch again as I’m not a fan of Bandy either. Ugh. Oh well. Loaded with lefties, hopefully they do sone damage and pull out the sweep!
  15. I haven't looked up the splits, but it seems like Villar is a much better hitter batting LH, yet they have him in a platoon that makes him bat RH 95% of the time. Just seems like we're putting him in a spot where he's going to fail.
  16. Braun's luck from last year has continued...that was a rocket off the bat.
  17. Can't speak to spring, but Schwarber has already made two awful plays in the OF today...he's probably not as bad, but it seems as bad as Braun at 3b, today at least. He looks terrible.
  18. I hope you're right on Mathieu, I would LOVE to see him in a Packers uniform. Said this to a buddy yesterday, but if this happens, coupled with the Graham signing...it's like how I typically ran my Madden franchises. Now if we could somehow turn some marginal player, our second and third rounds picks into like two firsts like I always pulled off on there...
  19. Oh they absolutely could find the room. Just a matter if they want to. Mathieu has been injury prone but he's still very young and would fit nicely at safety/slot corner. I'm guessing he'll have a pretty nice market but we'll see.
  20. Not sure they have the money or want to spend it on Mathieu, but I agree, he's an ideal fit.
  21. IMO, there is ZERO chance of Happ leaving early. You can't play in the NBA if you can't do anything outside of 3-4 feet unless you're an absolute beast like Shaq. He has no jumper and he struggles mightily against bigger guys (see MSU games) - that will be almost everyone in the NBA. He's not ready plain and simple. Spend the off season bulking up, then working on some form of jumper and MAYBE he has a shot to make a roster next year. I can't imagine the NBA gives him anything close to a high enough grade for him to leave early.
  22. Jim Bowden ‏ Verified account @JimBowdenGM 9m9 minutes ago Several teams remain in on Cobb or Lynn including: Orioles, Phillies, Twins and Brewers but all are waiting for 3-Year deals under $50m so they don’t have to give up draft pick compensation according to sources...asking price remains above for now
  23. The only way Braun plays 3b is if it's a crazy long extra innings game, we run out of players and then Shaw gets hurt. There's simply zero chance the Brewers purposely play him there. None.
  24. Also keep in mind that while they weren't going to be great this year, losing King (arguably their best freshman) and Trice (forcing BD to play PG way more than he should) are big losses. At least guys are starting to show some improvement and they haven't quit on the season.
