  1. C Edgardo Ordonez alert @sveumrules: 3-for-5, 2 2B, 3 R, 2 K. Your guy continues to hit the white rat.
  2. INF Juan Baez continues to maintain a scorching pace at the dish in the ACL. BUT, let's also see the forest for the trees with this talented youngster: He committed his 7th error in 23 GP and 174 innings played in the field. In the larger sample sizes at 3B and SS in 2023, respectively, he's fielding at an ugly 0.90255 clip (164 innings played). That is not a favorable look, unfortunately.
  3. And, on a 3-1 count, Urias pops out about 12 feet up the first base line. What an awful display of hitting with RISP tonight. Ugly ugly stuff. 15 men stranded in the end. Back at it tomorrow.
  4. Devanney pops up to the pitcher's mound. This is uncannily similar to their ineptitude at the dish earlier in this game. They just can't find a meaningful piece of wood in these spots. How frustrating. This just after a wild pitch careened to the back stop and right back to the Shrimp's catcher. Nobody could advance or score.
  5. We've also seen this: both runners advance on a wild pitch. Nobody down. We saw it in the fourth frame the exact same way. Can they do it now? Big moment here. Brosseau is 0-for 4. Make that 0-for-5. He goes down swining on a 98 mph sinker low and just below the zone.
  6. We've definitely seen this site before in Nashville tonight. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody down. They've already stranded 13 tonight. Can they finally get the hit they need here in the 9th frame? INF Mike Brosseau will get the first chance to try and inflict some damage.
  7. GASP. INF Dylan O'Rae was (gulp) caught stealing a base. I will not believe it because I did not see it. 1-for-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 CS (maybe)
  8. Yup. The velo is down indeed. And, after those two seeing-eye grounders he's falling apart. Ugly inning. He can't find anything consistently.
  9. After not trailing the entire game and stranding 13 men on base, RHP Jake Cousins' lead-off walk comes back to haunt him. Two very quality 'seeing eye' dribblers found the holes in the defensive alignment. These were warm burners but they found the holes. Sounds trail 5-4. And then Cousins hands an 0-2 slider right over the meat of the plate. That was his worst pitch of the inning - his only bad pitch beyond his five straight balls as he struggled to find the zone early. Ugh. 6-4 Jacksonville now. Only one down. That pitch can't happen.
  10. We now have our second ACL Crew error of the 5th frame - this a throwing error from 3B Juan Baez. 7-1. Bases still dripping. Nobody down.
  11. Holy hyeck, we have a legit chance at a 7-0 Affiliate evening. With the T-Rats stealing a 'W' late, we are 5-0. Sounds are tied 4-4 in the 7th. ACL Crew lead 7-0 in the 5th frame but a 1B Yeison Perez error just helped the bases load with nobody out. Lotttttta ball game left.
  12. How sweet. It. Is. T-Rats win 9-8. LOVE it. Those wins are so satisfying. You earned it but you had to earn it. Shears gets another Save. I'll give Wood the Save too with that fine inning of defensive work as well.
  13. C Matt Wood is flashing the leather here in the 9th inning as RHP Tanner Shears looks to work around a lead-off single and hit batter. He has 2 K's. Two down. Men on 1st and 2nd. Wood made a fantastic diving catch at the netting behind home plate and he saved a wild pitch advance with a very athletic stab outside the batters box as well. Fantastic stuff.
  14. Meanwhile, RHP Justin Jarvis just completed his quality start: 6 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 6 K, 4 ER, 2 HR. Not bad as he looks to continue finding his footing at Triple-A! He was working fast tonight - something I didn't quite see versus the Clippers during his last melee-filled outing.
  15. BIG Bob Moore with his 3rd RBI of his evening on a grounder up the middle and it scores Acossssssssta as the T-Rats run to a late 9-8 lead. Woot Woot!
  16. Acossssssssssta! He rips an oppo liner dub down the LF line and we have an 8-8 ball game. Let's GO!!!!
  17. Darren Miller HR #6 of his year. Drills it out to RF. 99 EV. 387 over the wall. T-Rats now trail 8-7. One down in the 9th. Let's go, men! Ward is at the dish. The dream is still alive. Ward ripped a double deep off the left center wall. One down. Ward at 2B.
  18. Hendry Mendez's turn: he just grabbed the last out at 3B with an OF assist on a gorgeous accurate one-bouncer nabbing the runner by a few steps. Fantastic OF throws here late in these games.
  19. So far tonight (as we head to the 8th frame) the dynamic trio of Black, Chourio, and Quero are a combined 8-for-12: 2 2B, 2 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI. The future is bright 💥
  20. Frelick just showed off his arm with an 8-3 put out to end the 5th. Heck of a dart right to the bag. Quite the double play.
  21. T-Rats have outhit Dayton 14-to-10 but trail 8-6 in the bottom of the 8th frame. They just stranded OF Joe Gray Jr. at 1B - Wood pop up, Martinez Jr. K, Mendez K.
  22. Sounds had bases loaded in each of the first three innings. The game is 4-4 into the 5th inning. They just stranded men at 2nd and 3rd with nobody down. They then stranded men on 1st and 2nd to end the 5th. 3-for-13 with RISP to Jacksonville's 0-for-1. No bueno.
  23. OF Sal Frelick was bumped down to the 2-spot in the batting order. Urias is leading off - 1 2B and 1 HR. Frelick is 2-for-3 as the Sounds staff looks to kickstart their slumping OF'er.
  24. It's hard to believe, after last summer and then Winter League, Chirinos hit his first long ball of 2023 on July 18th. Alas, here we are. Last year, he got hot right around his birthday which is in 11 days.🧐
