  1. 100% this. I would say, from my vantage point, the 'fear' or concern has always been we completely outperformed our means in an extremely hot few months upon the Adames arrival. We then got injured, lost some flow, and potentially reverted back to April/May. Even before the last few weeks of tapering off we were at the very Bottom of Playoff offensive outputs. We just haven't been a potent offense as whole. Our team was entirely dependent upon an Ace starting staff and a solid Bullpen. The bullpen then also got injured and had some hiccups. They came into the season with the assertion they will win via defense and pitching. That is their identity and now they are facing the stark reality that runs are now extremely hard to come by. They simply have to hope the pitching holds and they can find a stroke of luck here and there.
  2. 23 straight scoreless innings in a Home Field Divisional Series is, um, not what the Doctor ordered for a Post Season experience. And, yet, here we sit. I give kudos to all you watching this offensive demise. I am on the road and, well, I am starting to feel a wee somber. Lol. Here's hoping some magic potion finds its way to the dugout and induces some capable AB's.
  3. Here’s hoping we see some magic from Lauer today. Would be an incredible addition to his incredible 2nd half. Here’s hoping Morton is overextended, hangs some meatballs over dead center and our batters have their post-season Renaissance. Let’s score some runs and get back on the winning side of things!
  4. Rodgers made a comment about "make sure we're giving him laces every time", so it appears there were some consistency issues. They do have a new holder who came in late in camp, and they've had some protection issues too. I'm not really buying it. I slowed down the replays numerous times. Aside from the XP, everything is laces out. What I see? I see an end of the field that had a very weird and hard to discern wind pull to the Left (Kicker facing). Crosby was susceptible to it. Cincy kicker too. I read it more as Coach and QB speak to get any unwarranted criticism at a kicker who has been lights out for 2 years essentially. Mod note: please don't go around the swear filters.
  5. They finished in last place last year, so they're kinda due. I feel awful for their fans to have to go through a year of losing I vomited a little when I read these posts. But, I know you are good gents so I didn't hold resentment.
  6. Series aint over yet. I said going into this Series, if we lost 2 at Home I'm going to Hotlanta confident. Do our bats, as they have been in recent memory, give me confidence? Heck no. BUT, I also know everything and anything can change in a 24 hour period. I believe we can turn this around. Guys have to step up. Plain and simple. If they don't step up? Changes will be made. I am confident in this organization, their plan, and I am still confident that this series is NOT over. Let's see where the chips fall.
  7. Man we picked the absolute wrong time to revert to April/May bats. Can’t win any series scoring 2 runs in 3 games. Hopefully we can turn it around some and get a Game 5 back in Milwaukee. At this point, however, the odds have to favor the Braves.
  8. The pitch to Freeman and the pitch to Riley were not good in either selection or execution. That’s funny. I disagree. Lol. The pitch to Albies was notoriously in his wheelhouse. The pitch to Riley was a low and away Change he simply stayed with and was sitting on. But, hey, we can disagree and that’s fine by me. You may be right.
  9. Not a bad pitch by any stretch. Better hitting. This just in: Riley is a good hitter.
  10. Noice Shift. Let’s get some traction boys. Give Woody the runs he’s deserved for the entire Season. No pressure.
  11. Oh man did Fried get in Yeli’s head w that tailing pitch. He is dialed.
  12. Every game we’ve played the Braves this year? I see a team who knows how to extend AB’s against healthy DeGroms, Scherzers, Strasbourg etc. they hit HR’s but, man, hitters 1-6 are a challenge.
  13. Shoot, we may be waiting till next April. Lol. I guess I’ll still be clapping and hootin n hollerin.
  14. Let’s go Woody. Shut Her down until the bats get hot.
  15. Absolutely. Damage limited for now. Let’s wake these bats.
  16. Atta boy Luis. Nice put out. Let’s get out of the inning and get to work.
  17. That was just a nice piece of hitting. Tho, I would try and point out to Piña and Woody...that’s his sweet spot. Let’s turn it around boys.
  18. Woody realllly struggling w Location. That was almost inevitable given how good Freeman is RISP. He is missing location and leaving stuff up. Hopefully he can find his stuff here.
  19. Will the real Avi Garcia please stand up? I am still waiting for his return to Hot Streak .270’s BA ascension pre-back tightness Avi. Will this be the game I find my faith validated?
  20. Underrated post. Tip of the cap.
  21. Also, color me shocked, but man I nearly coughed up my drink when I went to page 1 and saw no Suter, a third catcher, and Jandale Gustave. Whewwwww. That’s intense. Lol.
  22. Yeah, AM radio is a bleak landscape these days. A lot of the ESPN affiliates don't carry some of the live events, and every station chooses (football) talk over any other programming. If you're not in a team's local or on satellite, good luck. I miss the days when you could pick up Reds games from just about anywhere in the Midwest. Yeah it was a sober reminder of the overall bleakness (as you say). I was a wee sad at first BUT, alas, I got to hear the 7th inning meltdown of Ol’ pal Tony LaRussa and his overrated White Sox. As a matter of fact, rumor has it he is still challenging an interpretation of a rule at the stadium in Houston.
  23. Been wanting to say something, just haven't. I know you aren't getting a lot of replies to your posts, that seems to be how it works here for the newbies for whatever reason, but I appreciate your posts... Keep it up. There are a couple of new guys here lately that I think are valuable adds. That's all, carry on... Thanks my friend! No sweat. I know I am in good company, regardless. Thanks for the kind words. Boy, the game thread was filled with doubt. This may be corny, but I hope we bring our ‘A’ games too. I know the post-season is stressful and the bats were facing a hot Morton...but, let’s root root root for the Home team. We face a tough road with our injuries and the offensive slump at present BUT a win is a win is a win. Excited for Game 2.
