    I wonder about signing Longoria and him taking Brosseau's place on the 26-man roster. I don't think you can count on him to be available for the whole season, but he could produce when he plays.

    I mean, sure, if you're going to do a complete rebuild, trading him, Adames, Burnes, and Woodruff. But if our current batch of prospects come through, I'd want to keep him.

    Your logic only works if every player went year-to-year with their contracts. And even then, pretty poorly, as many teams would be fine with a one-year overpay. So, I guess it doesn't work at all.

    Burnes is certainly top 3 in MLB. And $30 to buy out a single FA year is extremely optimistic. He'll want longer.
