  1. I’m pretty happy with the draw if I’m Marquette. Should be pretty smooth sailing until the elite 8 IMO. Florida had a big injury today and the potential matchup with Kentucky favors Marquette. The only question is Kolek’s health but he should be well rested by now
  2. That was my initial reaction as well. Looking at it more JMU has the lowest RPI of the 12 seeds and I’m glad to not get UAB or GCU in round 1. Getting Dook potentially in Round 2 is tough but they are beatable. UW is playing some good ball right now so should be fun
  3. Chucky is a good on ball defender and has a nice step back j that would play in the league. But he is no where near the athlete that Carter or Smart are which is his major limitation as far as getting drafted
  4. Sounds like Wahl has been nursing an injury. He is in a bit of foul trouble again. Not sure how realistic it is but it would be nice to get that contribution from him
  5. Probably a horrible idea but I wonder if Gard would go with both Crowl and Winter together to see if we can’t do some interior damage on these guys
  6. Well UW hung with them for a half. Going to need to tighten up the D in the second half to have a chance
  7. Well said. The NCAA tournament is one of the best sporting events of the year. I love seeing the Ivy or HBCU teams get a chance to compete in the championship tournament. Just great drama and entertainment
  8. How about an NBA record for made 3s in a half with 18. 82 first half points! Who needs a defense?
  9. I agree UConn is a strong, deep team and probably the odds on favorite to win it all. Every other team has its warts. Should make for a great tournament this year with plenty of upsets
  10. Bobby Portis!
  11. Here’s one bracket forecast… Marquette looks good. I think UW may get to five, we’ll see
  12. A quick Wes Clarke update. 0-2 with 2 Ks today. In 26 spring ABs he has 13 Ks. Some quick math tells me… …that’s a 50% K rate, which is not good. Good news is he does have 4 bombs and an OPS of 1.027.
  13. TJ Otzelberger has done a great job at Iowa State. That’s a big win over Houston
  14. Nice run for Marquette without Kolek. Hopefully he comes back healthy next week
  15. It’s going to be tough either way playing a fourth game in a row. I thought it looked like we tired at the end of todays game- missing jump shots, etc. It will only be worse tomorrow. I think they can hang for a bit with I’ll annoy, not sure about the second half though. Nebraska would be the easier matchup for sure
  16. No doubt. He was the leading scorer but I thought his full court D on Smith was disruptive for them all game and culminated in the big offensive foul call at the end. Props to Gard again for coming up with that defensive wrinkle which Purdue really had no answer for all game
  17. No matter the outcome of this game UW has to be pleased with how their pressure D has impacted this game
  18. Purdue went to the line 18 times that first half to our 6.
  19. Painter was bragging about getting 4 charge calls against MSU yesterday. Today Loyers feet are completely off the ground as he throws himself backwards. That was supposed to be taken out of the game the last couple years
  20. And another Loyer flop rewarded
  21. That was another Purdue flop the Zebras rewarded them for
