    Correct me if I am wrong, but Chourio appears to have far superior plate discipline and contact skills as compared to Justin Upton. He also has a lot of filling out to do to be compared to Upton physically. I would agree his ceiling higher As I recall, Upton had a huge hole in his swing that was exploited at the MLB level and he never was quite able to adjust. I think Chourio would handle MLB pitching today if he were called up.

    Perhaps another issue to consider is that Devanney has gotten off to slow starts at Biloxi and Nashville the last two years. With no prior MLB experience, the FO likely doesn't view him as a plug and produce player from the get go. While he has adjusted at each level, he does not possess the hit tool of a Sal Frelick type player and will likely need time to adjust to MLB pitching. That said, I love Cam and hope to see him in a Brewer uniform one day.

    I want to see all these promotions. 100% agree on Chourio as well. Not sure at 19 he would benefit all that much in Nashville. What he needs is time in a strength and conditioning program. I'd also like to see if can continue to terrorize Southern League pitching

    I am enjoying reading your series of articles @clancyphile well done. I had a chance to see James Meeker pitch last night- it will be interesting to see how he develops. It would be a benefit to him to develop a slower off speed offering I think. He appeared to be pretty much fastball/slider.

    There is no shortage of Cam Devanney believers on this site. I think the Brewers are looking for a bat that can impact the offense immediately and Cam probably isn't that player right now. He arguably has positioned himself above Luis Urias in the pecking order at AAA though with the way they are both performing. I think he gets a look next year- he would at worst fit a utility role well. I think he played some outfield in Biloxi too at times IIRC.

    I made it to the Biloxi game tonight, another good one and exciting team. Zamora made all the plays tonight except one bouncing grounder hit at him. He sat back and let it "eat him up" instead of charging it and making the play. He cleans that up and can still be a player at SS.

    I think I am warming to the idea of giving Toro a shot too. Doesn't seem likely the FO will promote Hiura, Chourio, or Black to Milwaukee. I'd hate to lose good prospects for league average rentals at the deadline. Toro can play defense, his LH/RH splits are pretty even and the OPS over 800 looks good. Issue is with past MLB performance, the .629 OPS in over 800 ABs is not pretty.

    As I recall, Turang was notorious for slow starts at each new level in the minors. Last year he struggled through a long stretch at Nashville with no XBH's. He ended the year much improved. Seems like if history repeats, he will get better with more exposure to to MLB pitching.

    In my opinion JC would hit MLB pitching and have an impact on this season- just not sure the Brewers FO would do it. I fully expect a promotion to AAA soon though.

    As I recall, last year around August 1 was when Mitchell, Frelick, and Wiemer were promoted to Nashville. I am expecting something similar with Chourio, Black and maybe Quero this year. Who knows?

    No doubt. I hope Brewer fans realize just how special he is. I want to make it over to Biloxi a couple more times yet before he is promoted, just not the type of player that comes along too often

    He appears to have insanely quick hands and is letting the ball get deeper in the hitting zone which might explain in part, the oppo approach he's taken this year. The power is amazing.

    I agree. But, as @sveumrules pointed out above his 66 wRC+ v RH pitching is not great. I watched Wiemer live several times last year in Biloxi and do not recall all the movement in the batters box as he's showing this year- everything is moving. Maybe he can work on some of his mechanics against lefties and improve as the year progresses. I love the guy and want to see him in the lineup everyday.

    Agree. Wiemer has had two injury shortened minor league seasons prior to this year where he played in a little over 100 games each season, I think. He's already near 100 games played this season- I think these days off are just needed rest

    Rory is off to a good start today. Conditions are not ideal, so scores might tighten-up a bit at the top

    I believe Branch is the only true safety with a first round grade. Johnson, I've read, is looked at as more of a slot corner in the NFL. I'd guess Branch goes pretty high.

    I share your despair. The family spent some time this year in Nashville for New Year's, thankfully we stayed downtown. We did however take the kids to see the ice sculpture exhibit at Opryland. We ended up leaving right away. It probably didn't help that it was full of Kentucky football fans for the Music City Bowl game either.

    I'm curious what you all think of "Last of Us," so far? I am not a gamer so I'm not sure where it's going but I'm enjoying it.

    Good info, thanks. I did notice Jaraba has some power too. Will be fun to watch this young group develop
