  1. Well the Hiura supporters will like todays line up. No Peterson or Mitchell against the righty though. Go Crew!
  2. Hopefully Woody is good for at least 1 more inning. He’s looked great
  3. No way. The Crew needs more of that NOLA Voodoo
  4. Sure did look that way. He has made some better throws after those first couple series
  5. Is it just the Ks or something else? I remember an AB last week where he didn’t get a bunt down too. Hard to fathom why it is McCutchen in the line up who is hitting around .200 over his last 100ABs
  6. Mertz has had a couple off throws. Would be nice to see him get in a rhythm. Wedig looks massive out there
  7. Yankee announcers on MLB Network feed agree. It’s kind of amusing to listen to
  8. My point was simply keeping a hot bat in the line up. Urias can DH too
  9. Just realized also that Urias is sitting tonight after an off day. Over his last 30PA he has .350BA and 1.050 OPS. I guess Jace couldn't DH and keep the hot Urias bat in the lineup
  10. Hiura has 31 PA in September and a sub .500 OPS with 13Ks McCutchen over his last 30 days has 85 PA, .190 BA, .602 OPS. Would be nice to have someone DH that can produce.
  11. Theo Epstein to the Cubs comes to mind. He was traded for a couple of relievers I think. I could see a similar scenario in this case if Stearns wants to leave.
  12. Have to bump this back up to page 1- again. Some more exciting developments as we get towards the end of the year. Wiemer has now surpassed Frelick in Nashville OPS. Frelick continues to be very good. Turang has had a very strong second half. Ruiz has brought his Nashville OPS up to the mid 800s. Gasser, another top prospect in AAA, just getting his feet wet, but continues his nice strike out rate. Just because I am a big fan of his, I'll give a shout out to Cam Devanney, let's see if he can finish his fine year as well. Really fun group to follow.
  13. Dang. Now it looks like Rowdy will have to hit at least a 3 run bomb in the 9th to keep us in this one
  14. Ruiz was working on laying down bunts for hits in Nashville for sure. Wouldn’t doubt he tries it at some point
  15. Very small sample but Mitchell has struck out almost 50% of his ABs thus far. He has looked overmatched against some of the better pitchers he's faced IMO. Good news for him is he will figure it out. He started out pretty slow at AA this year too and really improved after his return from injury. He just needs a bit more seasoning. I was of the opinion, like many here, that Frelick was the most major league ready bat of the AAA prospects and thought he would have the best chance to help out offensively.
  16. Looking at the roster it appears Allen is 3 pounds less and Melussi is 6 pounds more than last year. Pretty negligible difference in weight but both these guys put the work in the weight room so they likely changed their bodies over the last year.
  17. I’m a big fan of some of this short pass game
  18. So this Allen guy is pretty good. For some reason he looks a little more slender than last year
  19. There are some potential playmakers on the D but it’s gonna take some time for them to gel
  20. It will be interesting to see which way the Brewers go next year. They could essentially have the same team they have now, a team that is playing several rookies, or they could trade some of their assets for other controllable MLB players. In regards to Turang, I think many people believe he will develop more power over time. 6 of his 12 HRs this year came in August alone. He has been young at every level he's played in the minors and has taken a little time to adjust. I love his game and hope he is wearing a Brewer uniform soon.
  21. No doubt that predicting future success for high school kids in collegiate football and beyond is a not a science. UW has done well considering they are not landing all 4-5 star recruits. The TE situation is Cundiff and I think Hayden Rucci that you may be referring to. It was his brother Nolan that was a big recruit I know for sure that was considering ND. Cundiff is the guy that had that brutal compound fracture or ankle dislocation last year. He is reported to look good and be a primary target for Mertz in fall camp. Big issue I see is the depth again. Outside of OL and maybe RB, they are going to be playing inexperienced and or young kids in their two deep at most positions. I think the D will be good again. ILB's are new but both are very athletic and they really go 5 deep at that position. They can't have injuries on D-line as it looks to be pretty thin there, although they usually figure something out- like moving an O-lineman over there. It will be interesting to see what Engram brings to the offense in terms of scheme and play-calling. I am not expecting it to look that different from years past, but I do think we will see more quick passes to slot receivers, FB, H-backs/TEs, etc. I am excited for Badger football to begin.
  22. I read somewhere that he took all/most the reps with the 2's in practice so far this week. He does give them the DT look if Mertz goes down.
