  1. I believe Brice Turang has a good chance to grab a starting job next year. He started in AAA last year, so will have over a year of time there. His numbers this year have been held down by a bad one month stretch. However, over the last 30 days his line is approximately .320/.420/.515/.935. If he can finish strong and have a decent spring training, I think he has a pretty good chance of filling an infield spot.
  2. Well, I put a lot more stock in your list than mine, especially with the younger prospects. I was just curious what you thought of him now that his production has dropped off. BTW, I really enjoy what you do on the Minor League forum.
  3. I see you did not have Hedbert Perez ranked. He has had a rough year so far, I assume you are not as bullish on his future as some?
  4. He may be getting a pass by some as he has been playing through injury this year. He still has great raw power potential. And it pains me to say this as the proud owner of a Joey Weimer autographed, game-worn, Shuckers jersey, but I do have some concern about the strikeout rate with him.
  5. This was interesting this year. I slotted Misiorowski slightly ahead of Brown as well mainly because Misiorowski has elite velocity. Brown looks to be all around very solid, perhaps in the Frelick mold with his make up, so I am quite excited to see how he develops. I agree with other posters as to why Brown is slotting in lower being because we just have so many more known, highly touted, prospects right now.
  6. I predict Ruiz will be dealt ala Lewis Brinson in the off season. INF Turang and OF Frelick start in Milwaukee. Weimer and Mitchell probably start in AAA to get the consistent at bats.
  7. Very pleased to see some well deserved prospect love for Cam Devanney from a few posters. I personally had him ranked just outside the top 20. He had a rough start to the year but has bounced back and flashed some power as well. No idea what the defensive metrics say about him but he looks really slick with the glove in person. With the outfielders recently promoted its his time to shine in Biloxi.
  8. Yes. As I stated it was the difference in K rates between Ruiz, Weimer and Mitchell that I gave a slight edge to Ruiz, not OPS. I believe the current difference in OPS between Turang and Ruiz is some 250+ points. I know the OPS inflation varies quite a bit from park to park and player to player, but that is still pretty significant. By the way, I don't disagree that I may be overvaluing him a prospect a bit- but I still like his profile and tools.
  9. All of these prospects are in my top 7 and I love them all. I put Ruiz above Weimer and Mitchell because of the difference in the K rates mostly and above Turang because of OPS.
  10. He is making me look good for having him ranked in my top 20 August prospects list. Another pretty exciting wave of talent moving through the lower minors right now.
  11. 1. OF- Sal Frelick 2.OF- Jackson Chourio 3. OF- Esteury Ruiz 4. OF- Garrett Mitchell 5. P- Robert Gasser 6. INF- Brice Turang 7. OF- Joey Weimer 8. C- Jeferson Quero 9. P- Jacob Misiorowski 10. INF- Tyler Black 11. INF- Eric Brown Jr. 12. OF- Hendry Mendez 13. INF- Eduardo Garcia 14. P- Victor Casteneda 15. P- Ethan Small 16. OF- Hedbert Perez 17. P- Justin Jarvis 18. C- Mario Feliciano 19. INF- Jadher Areinamo 20. OF- Luis Castillo
  12. If Frelick keeps punishing the ball like he has been, he might be playing center in Milwaukee pretty soon. How much more seasoning does he really need in the minors?
  13. Ruiz has played a good bit of infield right? That may be a plan
  14. I noticed the same with Weimer from the few games I saw in person this year. It seemed that perhaps he was playing through something more than just the hand injury, like a back or oblique injury with the way his swing appeared tamed down. I'm really happy to see him promoted and think he will continue to mash if healthy. That AAA outfield is really exciting. Oh, and there is this Chourio guy I keep hearing about. Future looks bright in the outfield
  15. Just returned home from the Shuckers game tonight. Frelick looked awesome. Mitchell with a couple really nice catches in deep center that didn't look like he would have a play on when the ball was hit. Some errors led to a couple runs which made the difference. I loved the Marvel jerseys so much tonight that I bought Weimers' at the auction.
  16. Looks like no Marcus Smart tonight. Go Bucks
  17. Max Klesmit another guard is transferring to Wisconsin next year. Still two open scholarships for next year. Have to think at least one will need to be for a back up big yet.
  18. You don’t if you have a challenge
  19. I’m starting to feel a bit better about this one. D still needs to step it up though
  20. Love this topic, I am always looking for suggestions on what to read, just wish I had more time to do so. Most recently I have read In Cold Blood- Truman Capote, The Road- Cormac McCarthy, A Brief History of Time- Stephen Hawking and Band of Brothers- Stephen Ambrose. Nothing new but all good reads
  21. Hill and Nwora were out with injuries tonight.
  22. He’s looked really confident and aggressive so far in a few games at AA. I will say he has a chance. Love his approach and hustle. I leaned over and told my son at the Shuckers game Tuesday that we will see him in a Brewers uniform this year. I hope I’m right
  23. I was at the Biloxi game tonight. Weimer was fun to watch. Uribe was consistently hitting upper 90s to 100 in his inning.
  24. I believe they have 10 scholarship players as of now which includes Bowman who is questionable to return. They have 3 scholarships to fill at this point
  25. Ben Carlson is the second Badger to announce he is transferring. Not sure how big of a loss it is but the front court depth takes another hit. Hope the Badgers are able to land some quality transfers of their own, there are plenty of options out there.
