  1. I'm not all hip with the graphic programs but here is my non-pro idea. The Brewerfan logo would be on the front-left peck area of the shirt and this would be on the back: http://i32.tinypic.com/dw9gtk.jpg + http://i27.tinypic.com/2pyov1x.jpg = All of our WOAHS SOLVDD

  4. Was it caused by Erin Andrews? She brings the temps up a bit... Sorry, this was near the Badgers thread...
  5. Throw me in to the bluegill group. To me, there is nothing better than a plate full of fried bluegill at a dive bar in a small town. Yes, your veins harden as you are walking out the door, but they taste great! If I am eating a "healthy-ish" meal, I will cover a salmon fillet with lemon pepper, throw it on the grill and drip a small amount of butter on it when at the table. Good eats...
  6. I have another question semi-related to this topic. Is there a way to convert MP4's to MP3's that anyone would recommend? There are tons when you search on Google but I'm not sure I want to just download them all in hopes of finding one that works.
  7. My parents went last year and will be going this year as well. They are retired and have the time/money...lucky oldsters! Patrick made a comment about the autographs usually going to the kids (rightfully so) but the older generation seems to get some love as well. TBow, Wise, Weeks, Hart and Cappy all signed my Dad's calendar down the right field line. Cappy was the last one to sign and asked if there was anyone else they would like to meet/get to sign. My mother, being a HUGE fan of Prince asked if he was ever available and Cappy said that he would try to get him out there for the next home game. Sure enough, he was out and looking for my parents. People can say all the nasty stuff they want about a lot of athletes but this Brewers team seems to have a lot of classy guys...
  8. Check with the Kwik Trips in your area. I worked there all through college. The pay is surprisingly good considering it is just a convenience store job...
  9. There have been cougars in Monroe County for a couple of years but the DNR was either too lazy to investigate or is against alarming the public. They have been spotted by several people that would definately know what a cougar is and have been taking down livestock every now and then. I hunt out there and am literally shaking on my way to my tree stand in the morning and on my way out in the evening due to these things. I would NOT want to come face to face with one of them in the woods.
  10. The Kansas City - freakin - Royals are making a splash and our team is seemingly afraid to pull the trigger (or just being wise...but as a fan I HATE being cautious http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif). Yep, I feel that I have wasted about 4 days of my life on the rumors forum...
  11. A very funny memory just came to me when I read this post. The night that I remember being the drunkest I have ever been I ate a whole box (jumbo movie-theater-sized box) of Mike and Ikes before I went to bed. I washed it down with a big bottle of Gatorade and felt fine the next morning. I got about 8 hours of sleep but I swear that the Mike and Ikes saved the day http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Pogo - do you have solid proof or are you just slandering a guys name? Seriously, what gives any of us the right to say that stuff without real, concrete proof? Sheesh...
  13. Dear Mr. Melvin, Please ask the Dodgers if they will send a package similar to that to the Brewers for Ben Sheets while they are still smoking their hippie lettuce. Once they clear their heads they will back away from this type of package. Cordially, Brewerfan nation
  14. The Apple Ipod Touch commercial song is killing me right now. I keep whistling the "music is my boyfriend" melody. Then, my wife, being the funny one that she thinks she is (is this another thing that is bugging me as well?), set this song to play upon turning on my laptop as the power-up sound. AHH!!! I'm not sure how to post the actual youtube video but here is the link. Again...AHH!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N3OrZzPud8&eurl=http://daveandthomas.blogspot.com/2007/11/that-ipod-touch-commercial-song.html
  15. Honest question: How hard would it be to have separate forums labeled Trade Rumors (have to have a link) and Trad Proposals (ingenious creations of the bfan.net community)? Wouldn't that solve this?
  16. I tried to get HR involved but they decided that they were more inclined to believe the Sales Manager instead of the Senior Account Manager. I was also given a month of severance pay and a written guarantee that they wouldn't fight unemployement if I kept my mouth shut. All in all, they were happy to get me out the door quietly as to not tarnish their reputation as a great young Milwaukee based company. I didn't speak with a labor law attourey because I was fresh out of a job, had a new house with a pretty good sized payment, two car payments and a son that had just turned one. I was pretty close to broke so I thought that an attourney may make it worse. A couple of posters mentioned that I have a job and should just get on with life. If I was of the belief that my current job was a career type of job I would probably not be looking for something that would be in direct competetion with my old company. My new job is just a get me by situation until I find something that I could see myself doing for my career. The other reason that I want to work for a competior is the fact that I know the previous industry VERY well and want to maximize my past experience... Thanks again all...
  17. I really appreciate all of the suggestions. I am only bothered by this about once or twice a month lately so I guess that it is starting to go away in earnest. I am currently working for a good company in a very different field (still in sales, different product set) but am honestly thinking about looking for a career with a company that is in direct competition with my former employer. As Game and KegStand said...hitting that boss in the pocketbook would be the ultimate vindication http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Thanks again all!!
  18. Hi all, I am struggling with this and thought that someone here may be able to add a tidbit or two. I was unjustly fired from a sales job that I loved in January. I loved the job, my customers and most of all...the company I worked for. I was with this company for over 3.5 years but a regular salesman that I didn't get along with was promoted above me and the wheels fell off. I was unjustly disciplined in August of 2006 for "poor customer service" (which is the biggest slap in the face possible for a person in sales), denied a raise in May of the same year (he "forgot to put it through") and then fired in January of 2007 for once again getting "customer complaints". I had never had a customer complaint in my career before those popped up. I have worked in sales since this happened and have not had a customer complaint. My question is: How long should I hate my previous boss? It took me about a whole week after getting fired to get a wink of sleep. It took me two months not to wake up sweating about the situation in the middle of the night. To cap it off, I still get calls from my old customers and these seem to keep me awake at night (hence the 4 am post here). Is this normal? I feel like I should have been able to let this go a long time ago but every time I speak with a former coworker or customer all of the conversations on the day I got fired in January come right back. Am I crazy or is this normal? Hammer
  19. Jane Green?
  20. I've pimped this school before...but UW-La Crosse is all about sports. I have a degree in Marketing but was really considering something in the Sports Management field. Give them a look-see!
  21. No offense taken TLB...that's why I mentioned that there would be money coming to MKE in the deal. Abreu has been my man crush since the All Star game in Detroit...what a power display!! The funny part is my wife (not a baseball fanatic, just a normal fan) still asks about him by name when trades and free agency start to happen. She wants him on the Crew as well http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. I think that the Yanks are going to make a HUGE push to upgrade their rotation. With the possibility of Pettitte being on his way out they will be even more in need. It has been discussed elsewhere but I have a feeling that Abreu may be a trading chip for this offseason. Prediction with Brewers goggles: Bush + to the Yanks Abreu plus cash to the Crew
  23. I sure wish I hadn't partied with Travis Henry...all this child support is killing my ability to have normal habits like coffee and cigarettes. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif
  24. Best - concert - ever! I will be going to them every year that they come to Wisconsin. My wife and I were in the floor seats a couple of years ago and the pyrotechnics nearly burnt our eyebrows off. AWESOME!
  25. Friends teammate recently went on a rehab assignment on the east coast. Had a great time fishing with other rehabbing players. She came back with some great stories of the crabs that can be found out there by the Atlantic Ocean. Buddy designated teammate for assignment and went out for his own rehab assignment. After one slump buster he was granted a great new contract with many nice options. He signed with a large market club that came with a company car, spacious new home and a big signing bonus w/ bankrole. He is now thankful that crabs were in season on the east coast. Edit: This is a no-kidding scenario. I am actually a little bit jealous even though I have a great 5 year deal.
