  1. I'd take either. O'Neill not close to as bad as he started off the year. More upside than Perkins or Tapia. Cheaper than Carlson, too.
  2. Division rivals, I know, but Dylan Carlson is a player the Brewers could probably acquire right now if they wanted to. Out of a starting job now that O'Neil is off the IL. 107 wRC+ and upside as a former top 20 prospect. Would be similar to the Adames deal in 2021. He'd be a definite upgrade over Tapia and Perkins.
  3. Because we have all these hitters striking out 40% of the time right? It's also worth noting we have a different GM this year...
  4. I would like that strategy better if they didn't have the upcoming schedule they currently do.
  5. Yeah. That's the thing. Not the Brewers MO at all. But the timing here just seems like it's as good as it's ever been for any of our players. What's even more bizarre is how the Brewers haven't even promoted him to AAA yet. Makes at least a small part of you wonder if they're considering a direct call-up to the majors.
  6. Yeah, at minimum he'd put up like a .360 OBP, which would be second best on the team after Yelich....
  7. Timing isn't any better with him killing AA and Rowdy out for a month/Winker continuing to underperform. It's not like AAA pitching is much better than AA pitching, either. There are relatively few players capable of doing this. Juan Soto was one. But I think Tyler Black's hit tool belongs in that category.
  8. Moustakas is another blast from the past that would help fill a hole in the lineup.
  9. I think Cody Bellinger would be a huge coup for this team at the deadline. Can play any spot in the outfield and 1B. And then potentially having Yeli and Beli back to back in the order fixes a lot of your offensive problems. I also wouldn’t mind reunions with McCutchen and/or Renfroe. I think we need at least two hitters. Could see Arnold doing something similar to what the Braves’ GM did in 2021 and acquiring several hitters in the lead up to the deadline.
  10. https://twitter.com/brewers/status/1680585724389650434?s=46&t=6qHppUIKVZAHrSmvysdA1A
  11. Strzelecki has little MLB track record, is optionable, and makes pennies. Winker and Yelich, in addition to having long MLB track records, did/do not have options and make a significant amount of money.
  12. No. I think he's had enough. I just don't know why you brought him up in the first place as they're different situations (same with Yelich). Strzelecki, with his recent performance, isn't next in line for reliever call ups.
  13. Winker has a longer track record of MLB success than Strzelecki and can't be optioned. Not that difficult to understand. Abner Uribe is likely to stick, which leaves one spot that will likely go to Justin Wilson, who has a track record of success in the majors and has been good on rehab.
  14. Generally, players who are struggling to the tune of a 14.73 ERA and 9 BB/9 in AAA aren't called up. Particularly when we have other options. Yelich was in the lineup because of his 200 million $ contract and the fact that he was still an above average major league hitter (not "awful"). Not a comparable situation.
  15. Trading a one inning reliever is also very different from trading your ace pitcher. I just don't see it happening at this point.
  16. Why would Strzelecki be arriving shortly? He's been struggling in the majors and in AAA.
  17. Seems like a Yankees or Dodgers move. Wouldn't put it past the Rays, either, honestly
  18. No. I wouldn't.
  19. They take into account McLean, De La Cruz, and Votto. But they also take into account the fact that those guys, among several others, are unlikely to replicate that production over the remainder of the season. It's more forward-looking.
  20. I believe that, of 100 simulations, the Cardinals end up winning the division 5 times out of 100. Which is what I think the point of the projections are.
  21. The selling teams are going to want future pieces and not just our retreads or castoffs.
  22. I’m not saying I’m not concerned about the Reds or that we shouldn’t be, because I am and we should. But, despite their white hot streak and their current one game divisional lead on the Brewers, fangraphs still puts them about 20% back of the Brewers and less likely than not to make the playoffs. Which tells you they’re not sold on the Reds being as good as they’ve played for the last month plus. Meanwhile, the Brewers are right about where they have been most of the year and are more likely than not to win the division and make the postseason.
  23. Not exactly. It amounts to 54.5% vs. 30.3%. Close for sure, but Brewers still the favorite they have been the whole season.
