  1. Good news all things considered.
  2. After all the hoopla in the off-season, we just matched our win total from last year.
  3. They’re pretty much the worst fans in baseball.
  4. And of course Mets fans are on Twitter right now cheering Frelick’s injury because he’s “trying too hard” in a “‘meaningless” game. …
  5. At the game and Winker is getting booed. Brewers fans seriously need to let things go. It’s not his fault CC pinch hit him and there’s no indication he didn’t give anything but his best.
  6. Well, Boras is his agent so it's possible we see a redux of last offseason (and with Correa) where he holds out for the big contract and then is forced to sign a short term deal after no one caves on the outrageous demands. In that situation, the Brewers could work their way in, and it's not like the Brewers haven't agreed to a similar deal recently with Boras for Hoskins. Could easily see Boras setting a value based more on the MVP caliber player Bregman was from 2018-2019 which no one is going to pay because Bregman isn't that player anymore.
  7. 91 wins. Not bad for a retooling year. Only need one more to match last season's win total.
  8. And you could argue that wasn't even the worst call of the game.
  9. I think that's where you look at OBP. If he had an OBP in the .330 range or so, I'd agree that it's fine slotting him leadoff even without the slugging due to how often he turns walks and singles into doubles. However, it's at .313 and dropping right now and has been sub .300 the last three months.
  10. Hoskins getting hot just in time for the postseason. ABs have been very good for a couple weeks now. It takes time coming off a major injury.
  11. I'd definitely feel comfortable with Civale starting a game in the postseason. Wouldn't want him facing the order a 3rd time, but he's been steady for the Brewers.
  12. I'd certainly play Haase all 3 games this weekend against a playoff staff to see where his bat is. If he continues to rake, I'd consider it based on how badly Sanchez is slumping.
  13. Why did Triolo cut that off. Cruz had him. lol
  14. I'd switch Frelick for Turang at the top of the order against RHP in the postseason based on how both are swinging the bat right now.
  15. That's not even close to a strike.....
  16. And both NYM-ATL games have been postponed to a doubleheader on Monday. If you're the Brewers, you have to be rooting for those games to be played and to be determinative of the 6th seed. We're talking about names like Sale, Fried, Diaz, etc. all potentially being unavailable or dealing with a heavy workload against the Brewers.
  17. Group of players staying fresh and ready in Arizona: Hudson, Misiorowski, Peguero, Henderson, Black, Capra, Hicklen. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/willy-adames-brewers-beat-pirates-prepare-for-playoffs
  18. I would tend to agree, but having an ace didn't exactly do us much good last year.
  19. And we have a Brewers to the World Series pick, with some major upsets sprinkled in there.... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10136089-latest-2024-mlb-playoff-race-predictions-entering-final-week-of-regular-season
  20. Brewers interested in DBacks' Christian Walker, per Nightengale..... https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2024/09/22/home-field-advantage-mlb-postseason-overrated/75331164007/ He states in the event Hoskins opts out, which I find very unlikely.
  21. Sure, you can skip anyone's start as a last resort, but I think they'd rather Freddy and Tobias get some work in in Pittsburgh instead of going almost two weeks between starts.
