  1. I'm including everything right now. Still TBD with all of those guys.
  2. If Corbin keeps this up in the 2nd half, he could insert himself into the Cy Young race. No one really running away with it this year.
  3. Get Payamps up. Still only a 4 run lead.
  4. Full-circle moment here with Covey. Perfectly encapsulates the Brewers' first round draft woes.
  5. What's scary is the thought of Julio Teheran going up against them on Sunday.
  6. Braves take the lead in the 8th on a Riley 3 run shot. Might be good. I doubt the Braves would have lost 8 in a row. Still, not playing their best baseball of the season and we don't have to face Strider or Fried (who is still on the IL).
  7. Not as much if you keep hitting Contreras behind him.
  8. I have my doubts, but might as well see if Keston Hiura is living in 2019, too.
  9. Corbin fighting his command a bit more.
  10. Yeah, this Miller at 1B experiment isn't going to work long-term with the way he's been swinging.
  11. Monasterio has been hot. Offense is offense, though. Idc where they get it from.
  12. Yeli's looking at finishing top 10 in the MVP vote.
  13. Those stats encompass after the all-star break considering they're for the entire month of July.
  14. Well, Monasterio can be playing 3B until further notice. Not just doing it against lefties.
  15. They had the exact same winning % from memorial day to the deadline as they did from the deadline to game 162.... I meant top 5 catcher with Contreras. And he has been, considering he's top 5 in fWAR. He's been one of the best defensive catchers in baseball this year. Brewers have made him into one of the best all-around catchers in the game. Payamps has also performed like a top 10 reliever in baseball this year...Always had the stuff. It was just a matter of the Brewers' staff coaching it up.
  16. I've strictly been talking about defense, and I've literally said Miller isn't a good fit at first base due to his offensive profile, so I'll ignore all of this...
  17. Here is what the Josh Hader trade has effectively become: Josh Hader for Robert Gasser William Contreras Joel Payamps Justin Yeager That's a top 5 catcher, a top 10 reliever, and a top 100 prospect, in addition to a high-strikeout "filler piece", for a 1 inning reliever with 1.5 years of control. I know some argue that we missed the playoffs last year because of the trade (I disagree and I think the evidence strongly backs that up), but you can't say that the decision to trade Hader when we did has become anything other than a massive success and a boon for the future of the franchise. Credit to Stearns, even bigger credit to Arnold.
  18. You can go on fangraphs and look for yourself, too.... It's a list of first baseman with a minimum of 150 innings played in 2023, sorted by overall defensive value. Owen Miller is at the top for defensive value provided. He's also #2 in UZR/150 and top 10/12 in DRS and OAA. I still wouldn't call him the best first defensive baseman in baseball, but he's far from the total liability he's being painted as here.
  19. Maybe they do a poor job of quantifying it. But Miller's missed what? 4 scoops at the most? Compare that to how many more plays he's made at 1B that the average 1B doesn't make...Same logic with errors being a poor statistic for measuring defense. Some of the best fielding SS in baseball put up a lot errors (and some costly ones, too), but that's just because they make more plays than the average SS. Under your logic, Rowdy Tellez would be considered a good first baseman because he makes some spectacular scoops. But he's not, because he can't get to anything that's not hit directly at him. And that occurs a lot more than his scoops.
