    Bauers is starting to slump too unfortunately. It's literally every guy except for Mitchell, Ortiz, and Pratt.

    Absolutely not. I can think of several different players who need to sit before Chourio. Remember when everyone wanted to bench Mitchell back in May? You gotta let guys work through their slumps.

    While I hope Frelick's shoulder checks out okay, I think Lara is a much better fit for this team than Frelick, specifically with his ability to hit LHP.

    Pipeline's list is outdated. Not much chance Wiggins is currently valued as a top 100 caliber prospect. For Skubal, they'd have to start with Hartshorn who is really their only blue chip prospect. Brewers or (more likely) the Dodgers can easily outbid that.

    I like Senzatela, but really feels like he runs a bit too coterminous with Patrick. I would lean more towards a one inning type of guy that you can use in the late innings alongside Uribe and Megill. Preferably a lefty. AJ Minter perhaps? Of course, Luke Weaver may not be a lefty but he would definitely form a shutdown trio with Uribe and Megill.

    Count me out on Ray. His underlying metrics, particularly his precipitous drop in K%, are alarming. He's still walking everyone and their daughter, too. I think he would get lit up in a postseason series.

    Couldn't agree more. The Brewers still have enough arms capable of filling innings right now on the big league roster, even with Woody out of the picture. They also have Coleman Crow working his way back, and have Tyson Hardin in AAA who is getting very close to MLB ready. What they need more than anything is a guy you can pencil in between Miz and Harrison in a postseason rotation. Those guys (plus Henderson), as good as they are, are still way too young and going to end up way past their career high in innings for you to want to pin all of your postseason hopes on them. Skubal, of course, is the guy who most fits that bill, but there are other acceptable options potentially, such as Ryan, Gray, Mize, etc.

    Pretty nice company he keeps. Doesn't seem too "disappointing" to me. Still has the 2nd half to add to his totals.

    I think people's expectations were/are way too high with Chourio. He's got a 127 wRC+ so far which is easily a career high, while providing plus value on the bases and in the field. On pace for a 4+ fWAR season over 162. That's a great player. Does he still leave you wanting with his swing decisions in a manner that's preventing him from ascending to one of best handful of players in the game? Certainly. A "disappointment"? Hardly. Few guys are instant MVPs at age 22. Chourio's production to this point places him in a very select group in MLB history filled with HOFers. Development isn't linear. PCA, for instance, is two years older and is only now starting to show better swing decisions. It took Jordan Walker until this year and he was infinitely worse than Chourio. Bottom line, is we are incredibly fortunate to have him locked up for the foreseeable future. I pray you don't have the same expectations with Made, who is hitting at a similar level in AA right now as Chourio did.

    I get wanting to add more pitching to the system to complement our strength in position players, but it's such a relatively weak class for pitchers that I'm hesitant to take any of these guys at 25. Only guy I'm really confident in hitting is Flora, and he ain't falling anywhere near the Brewers' pick. After taking Fischer and Wilken 2/3 drafts, I'd probably revert to the tried and true route and go up the middle at 25. College would be fine (Rose, Jackson--I think he sticks at C) but HS looks particularly promising (Marchand, Thome). Oh, how I would love if Trevor Condon falls to the Brewers. Also, wouldn't mind adding another Ebel to the system in the 2nd round.

    Can we please keep the Mitchell-Chourio-Turang top of the order please? Don't think you're going to get a better combo than that for this team. Those are the guys you want getting as many ABs as possible (in addition to Bauers). No more Yeli leading off....

    He doesn't. That's the point. He's being played appropriately and has been the entire time. He's a different hitter against RHP compared to LHP. Was never hitting the ball at a .900+ OPS caliber level.

    Good stuff. Was going to pull this up in response to the OP, but you beat me to it and saved me the time. Think some people need to look past the big names of the Braves and Dodgers to a lesser extent. Brewers may lack that kind of name recognition, but their production stacks up incredibly well across the diamond (especially vis a vis the Braves). 1B and OF being among the prime examples.

    You already have RISP. With a hitter who crushes LHP. You want to take your chances with Perkins instead? It was a .830 xBA lineout on a get me over fastball. Unfortunate, but happens. Great swing.

    What was wrong with that contact by Sanchez? It was right down the pipe and he put a good swing on it. I have no problem with that. You have a hitter who crushes lefties getting a very hittable pitch with RISP.

    I would personally classify Jackson Chourio as pretty "steady"....
