  1. Except no one is saying you can't question him. Your line of argument in this situation just happens to be quite weak when weighed against the facts and the totality of Murph's record.
  2. One HR doesn't really cancel anything out. Yelich hit a HR on Friday. He does play the field, but he's legitimately been replacement level over the last month plus. His game calling has left a lot to be desired. He's costing us basically as much as Yelich.
  3. Yeah, because that's what switch hitters are famous for doing lol
  4. Hot take: For all the criticism Yelich is getting, Contreras deserves as much right now at the plate.
  5. Murphy is crazy for not having him in the lineup tonight. Clearly, that's the reason we're not scoring.
  6. When is Lara going to hit as a righty against a RHP? Maybe you want to think it through...
  7. Lara (and Pratt) are not accustomed to an MLB schedule. They naturally require more off days than the other guys as they adjust to MLB life. Mahle is also worse against RHH this year to the tune of an .872 OPS vs. .726 against LHH. Hardly nonsense. I'll defer to the decision-making of the winningest manager in Brewers history for the most part.
  8. Complaining about the legends game is like a new record for the IGT thread lmao
  9. Let's be honest. The vast majority of prospects don't work out like we think they will (see below). An elite organization like the Brewers is not only able quickly replenish whatever is lost, but they're also able to evaluate their prospects better than everyone else and maximize value by selling high where appropriate. No way am I trading Made (unless the Royals suddenly put Bobby Witt Jr on the market). Everyone else, though, should be available for the right price. I don't subscribe to the "windows theory". Who knows how things will look in a few months, let alone a few years. What you do know for certain is you currently have a team that is tied for the best record in baseball and is in need of some reinforcements. You should do everything within reason to maximize that team's chances of winning a WS. Future must always be accounted for, but you can't lose sight of the present.
  10. I fundamentally disagree with the assessment that the Brewers have less of a need at the top of their rotation. Their entire top of the rotation is dealing with injuries and/or innings concerns. Woody ain’t coming back. One more serious injury and you’re potentially looking at starting Aaron Ashby every other playoff game again.
  11. I'm probably more willing than most to sell on Henderson as the dude hasn't come close to pitching even 100 innings in a season professionally. I would not trade him for Joe Ryan, though. I might consider it for Reid Detmers, if he were the main piece going to LAA.
  12. The Brewers biggest need at the deadline is a veteran post-season caliber starter. Because can you really trust that each of Miz, Harrison, and Henderson are going to be healthy and pitching at their best come October? Considering their youth, injury histories and/or innings totals? You maybe could've when Woody was still an option, but not with him out of the picture imo. Skubal obviously fits the bill better than anyone out there. Skubal's teammate, Mize, is another sneaky (less expensive?) rental option. Otherwise, I'd probably prefer that they get someone with multiple years of control remaining, especially if they're going to deal from the very top of their prospect pool.
  13. Just gotta get the top of the order going again. I miss June when Chourio and Bauers were hitting lasers all over the place.
  14. Joey Ortiz is your third baseman. No way they're upgrading from him at the deadline.
  15. Bauers is starting to slump too unfortunately. It's literally every guy except for Mitchell, Ortiz, and Pratt.
  16. Absolutely not. I can think of several different players who need to sit before Chourio. Remember when everyone wanted to bench Mitchell back in May? You gotta let guys work through their slumps.
  17. While I hope Frelick's shoulder checks out okay, I think Lara is a much better fit for this team than Frelick, specifically with his ability to hit LHP.
  18. Pipeline's list is outdated. Not much chance Wiggins is currently valued as a top 100 caliber prospect. For Skubal, they'd have to start with Hartshorn who is really their only blue chip prospect. Brewers or (more likely) the Dodgers can easily outbid that.
  19. Do the Cubs even have enough to do an overpay for Skubal?
  20. I like Senzatela, but really feels like he runs a bit too coterminous with Patrick. I would lean more towards a one inning type of guy that you can use in the late innings alongside Uribe and Megill. Preferably a lefty. AJ Minter perhaps? Of course, Luke Weaver may not be a lefty but he would definitely form a shutdown trio with Uribe and Megill.
  21. Brewers taking on McCullers in what amounts to a “salary dump” for the Astros. And I was told Attanasio is the cheapest man alive…
  22. Count me out on Ray. His underlying metrics, particularly his precipitous drop in K%, are alarming. He's still walking everyone and their daughter, too. I think he would get lit up in a postseason series.
  23. Couldn't agree more. The Brewers still have enough arms capable of filling innings right now on the big league roster, even with Woody out of the picture. They also have Coleman Crow working his way back, and have Tyson Hardin in AAA who is getting very close to MLB ready. What they need more than anything is a guy you can pencil in between Miz and Harrison in a postseason rotation. Those guys (plus Henderson), as good as they are, are still way too young and going to end up way past their career high in innings for you to want to pin all of your postseason hopes on them. Skubal, of course, is the guy who most fits that bill, but there are other acceptable options potentially, such as Ryan, Gray, Mize, etc.
