  1. Hey, Turang and Mitchell are facing a tough lefty here. So much for the "loser manager"....
  2. Josh pitching in the 9th while trailing. That's new...
  3. That's a HR at a lot of places...
  4. Disagree. He's close imo. If he starts striking out in bunches, then you obviously do it. But for now let him try to work it out because of the value he's still providing on defense and on the basepaths. If Frelick were lighting it up in AAA, I would agree, but he's not.
  5. Wiemer just can't get one over the fence...
  6. No complaints as long as the score stays 1-0.
  7. Wiemer is incredible on defense. Hope he starts hitting. He's hit some that have ended up at the edge of the warning track the past couple of games.
  8. Man, where would we be right now without Miley..
  9. I think Mitchell could've had that...
  10. Fully prepared for and expecting Darvish to dominate us yet again after that first at-bat..
  11. I'm actually really intrigued with Peguero. Time for the Renfroe trade to start paying off...
  12. No, unless we're trading Chourio (we're not), we're not going to be replacing Woody on a one for one basis. Best thing we could do is find another starter with good stuff to add to the mix and hope we can enhance their performance due to our pitcher development system. Someone like Mitch Keller from the Pirates, for example. That's been the Rays model with Tyler Glasnow out for the better part of the last two years. The hope would be that Woody then come back around the all-star break/deadline and be like an ace trade deadline acquisition.
  13. Mitch Keller from the Pirates is someone we should target imo. Former top 20 prospect with a few of years of control left who has put up middling numbers despite his high-level stuff. Sounds like a familiar story (Cole, Musgrove, Taillon)... Would be a nice back of the rotation addition at the very least with the potential for more if our pitcher development system is able to work its magic once again. Also, would add another option for next season, when we'll presumably be without Burnes.
  14. Ugh, can our S and C staff please get it together (half-joking)? Second straight year with pitching and now we've got position players falling. Meanwhile, when have you ever seen Goldschmidt or Arenado have to go on the IL?
  15. Honestly, I’d be fine with trading any of our prospects not named Chourio or Misiorowski for a starter. Garrett Mitchell, in particular, would be a great sell-high candidate…
  16. I think it’ll be right in the middle of this prognosis and mid-may. So around the all-star break/deadline.
  17. Never mind, I'm being stupid. CC didn't want the Lefty lefty matchup...
  18. Pitching simply didn't show up today. Freddy's gotta be better, especially with Woody out now. At least we shouldn't have to suffer the indignity of Hader slamming the door on us.
  19. https://www.si.com/mlb/yankees/news/new-york-yankees-starting-pitcher-corey-kluber-to-miss-eight-weeks-with-shoulder-injury This is probably the most relevant. Kluber went from May 25 to Aug 30 between starts. It'll hopefully be like acquiring an ace in early July/at the deadline.
  20. Cubs: Willson Contreras Reds: Aroldis Chapman Cardinals: Yadi (also LaRussa even though he's not a player) Pirates: Jose Bautista Astros: Brad Lidge
  21. Would like to see Frelick heat up in Nashville because Mitchell's striking out again at an alarmingly high rate..
