  1. Mordecai has thrown for 72 TDs and 22 INTs the last two seasons as the QB for SMU…
  2. Only Burnes remaining...
  3. Highest ever for a reliever. Why we traded him, in addition to the fact that he'll probably get over $100 mil. next year in FA...
  4. Losing to Minnesota three out of the last four years was how I personally came to the same realization. We should not be losing games to that poser of a coach and program. Looking forward to reasserting our dominance over the BIG West (for this coming season at least) and upending Ohio State/Michigan/Penn State on a more frequent basis.
  5. Yes, because you should take what one expert/evaluator says and accept it as the law (pun intended). As opposed to looking at a multiplicity of experts/evaluators and averaging out their collective opinions. But you so obviously don’t know what you’re talking about, so I’m just gonna stop here..
  6. Who says? Actual prospect industry scouts, experts, and evaluators...You know, people who do this for a living. As @sveumrules pointed out, Chourio and Tatis Jr. are/were top 5 multitool teenage prospects, while Singleton was a hit-only prospect who peaked at #25. Even then, Chourio's age 18 season with the bat was significantly better than Singleton's age 18 season with the bat. Also, the DSL, while technically "rookie ball", is in practice a level beneath the Brewers' Arizona rookie affiliates. Henry Mendez, for instance, was in the same international FA class as Chourio, but still did the DSL AND ACL, while Chourio skipped the ACL entirely and then progressed all the way to AA. But, yes, 25 years and Prince Fielder are more relevant for thinking about how the Brewers will handle Chourio's progression...
  7. And Chourio is already at 2 (BA) following his age 18 season...
  8. No. Tatis Jr. and Singleton are not, and never will be, remotely comparable prospects. Tatis Jr. and Chourio are comparable. But Singleton has no relevance to them. When you look at Chourio's actual comparables (Soto, Acuna, Tatis, Vlad Jr., Rodriguez) you can see that it's more than a "blind guess". Not a certainty, but not a blind guess... Also, you do realize that, in this past season alone, Chourio skipped rookie ball entirely, and then moved up three whole levels??? Not sure why 25 years or Prince Fielder is relevant here when we have definitive, recent evidence that the Brewers are willing to push Chourio up the ladder...
  9. I do think a team will end up taking a chance on him given his talent level (though not the Brewers). Unfortunately, that's just how the world works. I just hope it's not for the Cubs or Cardinals...
  10. First of all, you can take his winter league stats with less than a grain of salt considering the extremely small sample size and the fact that he's more than a decade younger than the average player.... Second, he's not as far away as you think. The median expectation from industry experts is that he'll arrive in the majors sometime next season, while there are a non-trivial number of evaluators who think he could make his debut later in this coming season. I also contest that it's no more than a "blind guess" that he'll pan out for the Brewers. What he's accomplished at his age is something that only a handful of prospects have done in recent years (Soto, Acuna, Tatis Jr., Vlad Jr., Rodriguez, etc.), and all of them ended up becoming superstars. Chourio could ultimately prove to be the exception given the inherently fickle nature of prospects, but it's certainly more than a "blind guess" given the company he's established himself to be in...
  11. Honestly, if we're talking about surplus value, Chourio is probably up there with Corbin Burnes as our most valuable franchise asset. Indeed, this is backed up by BTV, which has Chourio just three points shy of Burnes. I get that he's a prospect. but he's among the elites of elites in terms of prospects (Acuna, Rodriguez, Soto, etc.) for what he's already accomplished at his age.
  12. I hope they don't trade Adames in-season, unless they're completely out of the playoff race.
  13. Lol Dodgers. Welcome to the real world, even if it's only for a year. Honestly, think there is a non-zero chance they could miss the postseason entirely this season. Nice deal for the Marlins.
  14. They're also in on, if not the favorite for, Corey Smith out of Waukesha. Consensus 4 star, top 200 RB in the 2024 class.
  15. Victor Robles is an interesting comparison considering he never even made it to A ball as an 18 year old and then, at 19 years of age, proceeded to put up numbers even more "pedestrian" than Chourio. If you want to be accurate with the Chourio comparisons, you want to talk about Acuna, Rodriguez, Tatis Jr., etc. That's the statistical company he's in right now.
  16. I feel pretty confident in saying that Mitchell will never be playing 1B for the Brewers…
  17. Pedestrian?? The kid was the MVP of the Carolina League at 18 years of age, with a 160 wRC+. The only (recent) prospects who have done that at that age are the Sotos, Tatis jrs, and Acunas of the world…
  18. We'll see. At least he's not wearing the boot anymore. Wahl either needs to get healthy or they need to find a way to win without him.
  19. Too bad. They definitely win this game with Wahl. Hopefully he's ready to go for Indiana.
  20. We'll see. I just don't think that one rough, injury plagued season is indicative that he'll be a problem in the clubhouse.
  21. True. But there are whispers that one of our current QBs will be leaving the program. Burkett is the most likely candidate in that sense, as Wolf is primarily focused on his grad program at UW at this stage. Mordecai is 99.9% likely to be the starting QB in 2023, and while he departs after the season, Mettauer will then be entering the program. So, he's looking up at 4 four star QBs on the depth chart. Granted, recruiting stars don't mean everything, and there's always a chance he develops into the WI version of Stetson Bennett, but that's still a very far fetched scenario.
  22. Yes, he featured in the top 10 of some lists in 2016, but did not quite have the hype or helium of Chourio, who is younger and has hit a lot better. Arcia's carrying tool as a prospect was his glove, which ended up becoming solid, though not elite at the MLB level in addition to his disappointment with the bat. Chourio's tools are a lot louder.
