Ohtani being a shell of himself is still quite relevant. He carried that offense last postseason. He is not anywhere near that right now. Brewers' bats have also been quite unlucky in this series. They have the highest xwOBA of any team in the Division Series.

Have you ever considered that one of the reasons Vaughn has been effective this year is because the Brewers have set him up optimally matchup-wise for the most part? https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2026/10/01/milwaukee-brewers-manager-pat-murphy-maximises-andrew-vaughn-joey-ortiz/91816301007/

They do have a major Ohtani problem right now. They don't win without him having a huge NLCS and WS last year. He's currently a shell of himself.

I'd honestly just open with Henderson to get through Tatis, Machado, and France. Then go to your lefty in Drohan or Gasser. Might as well get Henderson some more work in this series, and he'd still be available to open Game 1 of the NLCS if we have to go to Miz in game 5.

Jackson Chourio with a .575 xwOBA in this series but with only a .262 wOBA to show. Can't take much more of this man.
  7. Brewcrew82
Won't matter if they can get on the board early and often.

BA calling a Freddy K.....Nostalgia central.

If JC keeps hitting like this and we win a WS, I would honestly have no problem putting him in there already.

This ain’t hockey, but I got 3 stars of the game today. 1. Chourio. Duh. Doing it all with the bat and the glove. Senor October. 2. Ashby. His innings after Uribe allowed them to complete the comeback. Got put into a tough situation by his defense and came through. He’s been as good as he ever has two appearances in. 3. Yelich. Best ABs on the team today. Nearly tied it himself. Settled for the key BB against Miller to kick off the comeback. Prediction: He finally gets an RBI in San Diego. How can you not be romantic about baseball and the Milwaukee Brewers!

Don’t ever forget that Jackson freaking Chourio was compared to Tyrone Taylor on this very space only a couple months ago…. That’s SENOR October to you! Now and forever!

Sal and Bunty in. Joey O and Lara out.

All I literally said was they play the game of baseball in the regular season and in the postseason. As another poster said, where exactly come up with this stuff? Might I suggest another tact?
  15. Brewcrew82
"We better". Or what? Man, that's a hard way to go about things. And we haven't even played a single inning yet!
  16. Brewcrew82
I believe you have zero MOTY awards, though. Baseball is the same game that is played in the regular season and in the postseason. Turns out it's pretty hard to win a WS when you're in the same league as the Dodgers!
  17. Brewcrew82
Because he stinks and they have no other options with Buehler on paternity. That is why. They're not going to surrender this game and leave him in forever. Now, it's on the Brewers to actually mount threats, but the Padres have no qualms about going to their super pen.
  18. Brewcrew82
No Sheets for the Padres. He might only be available as a PH this series. Notable that their worst throwing catcher is starting too in the 20 year old rookie.
  19. Brewcrew82
Yeah. I don't think Ray is going deep into this game whatsoever. They'll pull him at the first sign of trouble with King going tomorrow.
  20. Brewcrew82
"Let the Murph is a moron takes commence!" Was I right or was I right?! 103 win and soon to be 3xMOTY we're talking about here I believe.

  22. Brewcrew82
Yelich at DH. No Vaughn (or Sanchez) against Ray. Let the "Murph is a moron" takes commence!
  23. Brewcrew82
Begging Contreras to not call stupid cutters if Miz is sitting 100s like I think he will be....
  24. Brewcrew82
Maybe. But in light of Miz's comments yesterday. Got me thinking. And wouldn't be a bad strategy. Might as well make every Miz bullet count.
  25. Brewcrew82
Starting to really wonder if there isn't an emerging scenario where Miz opens Game 3 or 4 instead of his regular bullpen. Going to be important to start with some zeroes early especially once the series shifts to Petco. Then you can go Hall/Drohan and back to May to force them into some substitutions. He'd still be very much available to start game 5 or game 1 of an NLCS.
