  1. He was 0-4 with weak contact galore. He's not close to as good against RHP as he is against LHP right now.
  2. Hopefully tonight will get people to stop whining when Vaughn isn't in the lineup against a RHP.
  3. Notwithstanding the caveat that batting order has a limited impact, I'd like to know the reasoning behind why Pat Murphy doesn't bat Brice Turang leadoff.... Other than Shohei Ohtani, I have a hard time thinking of a more ideal leadoff candidate in the modern game than Brice... 2B Turang RF Chourio DH Yelich C Contreras LF Bauers 1B Vaughn CF Mitchell..... Looks like something that would end up producing a lot of runs by the end of the season provided at least basic production from the 8 and 9 spots. Best OBP hitter leading off. Maximize the PAs for your very best hitters. Power scattered effectively throughout the lineup. L-R alternates so opposing manager can't attack weakside.
  4. FWIW, the increased revenue sharing going to small markets under the MLBPA’s proposal is illusory. You have more money being diverted away from small markets through the massive increase in the CBT threshold and the consequently sharply reduced tax payments from clubs like the Dodgers. Let’s be honest MLBPA couldn’t care less about small markets. They just want more money for themselves, particularly the well off members who comprise their executive committee. Which basically means they’re pro-Dodgers.
  5. I'd say local TV revenue sharing is just as important, if not moreso than any cap. The Dodgers are able to spend more not only because they've got a massive TV deal due to their market size, but because they are also EXEMPT from having to pay out the standard share of that pie on account of a bankruptcy settlement under their previous owner. That needs to be dealt with first and foremost because how the heck is a market like Milwaukee supposed to compete with that? To Manfred's credit, his idea of combining MLB TV rights like the NFL is a logical solution toward reducing those disparities.
  6. Or.........perhaps no one knows the full truth, and they're withholding judgement in the absence of those clear set of facts. Of course, Brewers fans are going to tend to want to take the Brewers player's side. What a strange concept.
  7. What is this an interrogation? Watch the video yourself at 1:53....
  8. I don't have any reason not to believe Uribe that the Cardinals weren't innocent in this. Should he have done what he did? No. But the Cards' organization does have a history of this sort of crap. It's whatever for me really. So long as he backs up his antics on the field.
  9. Prediction: Cardinals will not throw at a Brewer tomorrow because it will be obviously intentional and clear grounds for a suspension by MLB.
  10. According to Uribe, Cardinals were stirring things up in their dugout and there was an "event" pre-game which precipitated his gesture.....
  11. I can assure you that this team isn't playing Andrew Vaughn at 3B except in case of absolute emergency.
  12. It's worth noting Luis Lara is considered to be arguably the best defensive CF in the minors.
  13. Tarik Skubal may become available here if the Tigers continue to fall off. Just saying.
  14. Bauers in LF and Chourio in CF tonight vs. Imanaga. Giddy'up.
  15. There was handwringing on here over Chourio's defense yesterday.... In far less innings, he's already been better than every single one of our OFers by OAA and FRV. That play yesterday was low probability. Mitchell, for instance, has failed at numerous other similar or higher probability plays this year. Chourio's range gave him a chance at a ball that normally the LF should make. He's fine in CF (no worse than Mitchell and Perkins this year). And elite in the corners.
  16. Jett isn’t on the 40 man fwiw

  18. Plenty of depth in AAA to tap into yet too between Gasser, Crow, Yoho, etc.
  19. Would imagine Murph will give us a definitive update this afternoon. If I had to bet, though, I think he'll return in Minnesota or Chicago (which they'd ideally want him for).
  20. I think it's fair to say that as long as two of Joey Ortiz, David Hamilton, and Luis Rengifo are consistently in the lineup, the Cubs will have the overall advantage at the plate. Brewers do have a path to somewhat negating this imo with their high end upside if Chourio and Turang can sustain their current level of performance, which the metrics suggest they can to a significant degree. Defense is basically a wash between the two clubs as both are elite by DRS. Though, PCA in CF probably gives the Cubs a slight advantage as none of the Brewers OFers are at that level. Where the Brewers make up ground right now is their pitching, especially their starting pitching, where the Cubs are absolutely decimated due to injury. Brewers pitchers miss way more bats than the Cubs to begin with. I don't know why anyone wouldn't think at this stage of the season it won't end up being a battle to the end between these two clubs. Exactly the way it's been the last three years, with the onus on the Cubs to unseat the three time defending champions. Both should be playoff teams regardless.
  21. The Reds? You mean the one team in the division that has actually struggled to score runs and which has like three good hitters and a host of really bad hitters.
  22. Lol you can't just pick and choose games to fit a narrative. Even if you could, you'd then have to take away every other team's best three games before you make any comparison.
  23. They're top 5 in baseball in runs per game without arguably their 3 best power hitters.... And your conclusion is that they're the worst offense in the division?
