  1. Dunn was 25 in AA this year, but he's really looking like a late bloomer. Turned some heads in the AFL. Hopefully he can push Turang. We needed this kind of IF depth. I'm not high on Moore or Mendez. Moore probably never going to be anything more than a utility IF. Mendez still young, but Chourio is the hit from that IFA class and you tend to only get one of those per class at most.
  2. Lost in the Murphy news…I don’t think we’ll get any better news this off-season. This was actually in question as of this morning.
  3. You figured this was going to be the case when MA announced the entire staff was coming back. I’m pretty indifferent about this one. They’re clearly opting for continuity, which isn’t a bad choice when you’ve won as much as we have.
  4. Unfortunately, with Boras as Burnes’ agent now, I doubt any potential trade partner sees themselves extending Burnes before FA.
  5. Horton would be an absolute must.
  6. I would love to pick off Joey Ortiz from the Orioles in a trade. He’s completely blocked by Holliday and Henderson. Elite glove and some decent gap power.
  7. Yep. At .391/.472/.565/1.037 after tonight. More walks than strikeouts.
  8. Dude is raking right now.
  9. Brewer on Brewer crime…
  10. So, Twins would be more willing to deal him then, too, with Lewis cemented there. Good deal all around.
  11. Well deserved. Was truly the best catcher in the NL this year. Lock him up!
  12. They’re not arbitrary value websites. It would be solid core but we still can and should do better. Orioles might be reluctant to part with their prospects, but it’s the price you have to pay. Freddy is healthy right now and controllable for 3 more years after coming off a second half where he was arguably the best pitcher in baseball. Devin is arguably the best (top 3 at minimum) closer in the game and is controllable for 2 more years. That’s a Juan Soto combination of value. Trading guys for less than their value, especially when they’re controllable like Peralta and Williams are, is right out of the A’s playbook.
  13. Yeah I said and/or insinuated none of this but go on.
  14. Not really for guys who have multiple years of control. 3 more years in Peralta's case. Again, Peralta and Williams together is comparable in value to when the Nationals traded Juan Soto to the Padres and got their haul. What is by far the worst strategy is trading guys for less than what they're worth when you don't even need to trade them. That's how you end up like the A's.
  15. That would be a terrible strategy by Arnold to "overpay" with guys who have multiple years of control. If the value demand isn't met, then you keep them until someone is willing to meet your price. Peralta and Williams together would be comparable in value to when the Nationals traded Juan Soto.
  16. A return of Mayo and Westburg for Peralta AND Williams (who each have multiple years of team control) is pretty light. I think you need to add another major piece from the O's. I also don't think we have much precedent to think the Brewers will be involved in the Yariel Rodriguez sweepstakes. Just hasn't been their MO.
  17. I disagree it means "absolutely nothing". What it means is those teams have some catchup to do, whether by virtue of internal improvement or external additions. I don't believe I ever indicated the division is going to be easy. Simply that Woodruff being out for most if not all of the season isn't exactly much of a net change from this past season.
  18. Why you have to offer Chourio a deal very soon.
  19. I'd easily do the Twins trade and Rays trade # 2. Orioles would probably come down to how much you believe in Mayo. I would take Mayo and Basallo or Kjerstad for Peralta for sure.
  20. I'd still be shocked if they traded Peralta.
  21. Tbf, it's not like we had Woody for a most of the season this year in which we won the division by 9 games... That said, I would be shocked if we didn't sell of some pieces.
  22. Yeah that tends to happen to 18 year olds who are playing guys a decade older than them on average. Fact that he's doing what he's doing now just a year later and still as a teenager is remarkable.
