  1. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/milwaukee-brewers-2024-top-30-prospect-list First time I've seen Chourio given a 60 for his arm. Aggressive placement of Yophery at #8. Top 5 free. Rest for subscribers.
  2. Great 2021 and 2022. Awful last year. Over 30, so it's no guarantee the 2021/2022 version comes back. Have to assume at this point the Brewers will fix his framing issues. With Quero likely starting in AAA, not worth getting too up in arms over.
  3. Huh? If we're taking Story back for Burnes and Adames, we'd better be getting Mayer or Anthony back....
  4. Looks like Chourio will not play as he's been substituted out. Wonder if the Brewers intervened here. https://x.com/elmanuortiz/status/1736881335896015304?s=20
  5. Jackson Chourio playing in the LVBP all star game tonight opposite Acuna.

  7. (17:10) "They know their situation and where they're at with their market size...it's just like hey...we respect what you've done and we're not going to come at you with something that we don't feel is what you're worth as far as the market goes."
  8. Not worth trading him then. You either get what he’s worth or hold him and run it back with a 92 win team.
  9. Jonah Heim? Bill got robbed big time
  10. All-MLB teams being revealed tonight. My guess is Devin Williams 2nd team (after Bautista) and William Contreras 2nd team (after Murphy). https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-all-mlb-teams-unveiled
  11. He said they’re not able to offer him what he’s worth, and that he’s priced himself out of Milwaukee.
  12. Baseball Prospectus supposed to release their Brewers top 10 today, yet not on the site for some reason. Ugh! Don’t they know how desperate I am for Brewers baseball info this time of year.
  13. He also hadn't revamped his load and swing like he did in May. Just as he's not MVP Yelich anymore, he's not 2021-2022 Yelich.
  14. I think they're going to sign Yamomoto with Ohtani recruiting him.
  15. No. But that doesn't mean you have to trade him. Although a guy who averages 4.1 fWAR per season would get something approaching that on the open market. Either way, this was a made up rumor so it's not even really worth debating. Yelich is here to stay.
  16. He's one of the two good veteran hitters we have, and his deal isn't that bad. You're talking about a 4.1 fWAR player last year. If the Brewers want to contend this year like they've said they want to do, you don't trade that unless it helps you win in future seasons. No team is likely to offer much that would help us in future seasons.
  17. Answer seems pretty straightforward to me. Work him as far as you can as a starter and then once he approaches his innings limit (career high of 76 this year so maybe 110-120) transition him to the bullpen culminating in a stint in the majors in August/September. Of course, there's also the possibility that he experiences significant gains in his control and tears up AA in which case you might get him some major league starts. Most likely, though, any impact on the big league club in 2024 will be out of the bullpen. I wouldn't worry about the Brewers keeping him there like Hader. They have repeatedly said they are committed to him as a starter. And why wouldn't you with his elite upside. Hader didn't have 3-4 plus to plus plus pitches like Misiorowski did. It was almost entirely fastball with him early in his career.
  18. Not happening. Burnes said it himself.
  19. If they think this is how they're going to acquire Burnes or Adames, they better think again.
  20. What exactly does trading Yelich accomplish for the Brewers at this moment? He's their only major financial commitment throughout the duration of his contract and is not hampering us from being able to upgrade the roster. The only types of players he's preventing us from signing are the ones we'll never have a shot with anyways. He's also one of our top bats at a time when we're trying to contend. And the Jays aren't going to offer us much that would help us competitively in future seasons. Plus the NTC, which I highly doubt Yelich is going to waive to go to Toronto. Maybe reconsider in a year once the young outfielders have had more time to establish themselves, but we kinda need the insurance Yelich's offensive production provides us right now as we're trying to break in the youngsters. I'm skeptical, and we should still be prepared to ride this out like Braun.
  21. I'm aware of spring training and how it works. I'm just pointing out how the Brewers in theory have zero incentive to play their $80 million investment in that game, as opposed to the major league game where he would get more reps against major league arms, regardless of whether the pitchers are going full-speed (though chances are it will be more regular season like given how relatively late in ST the game is). Obviously, the chance of an injury is pretty much the same in both games, but it's a lot more palatable if Chourio were to get injured in a major league spring training game as opposed to a meaningless prospect showcase. I ultimately don't care one way or the other because it's only one game, but it's a legitimate question to ask.
  22. It's only an exhibition, though. The Brewers gain nothing by playing Chourio in that game. We'll see. MLB may force their hand.
  23. True. I could maybe see them holding Chourio out of the major league game to play in the prospect showcase. Depends how serious MLB wants teams to be about this. Brewers seemingly don't have much of an incentive here. Chourio needs at-bats against major league pitchers at this point, not whatever the Royals will throw out there.
  24. Really fun idea. Doubt Chourio will be partaking this year given he'll be in competition for a spot on the major league roster. Still, will be fun to see our top rated farm system match up against other teams.
  25. Never been less shocked by a FA signing in my life. He'll probably bang a few HRs against us, too.
