  1. He's basically sitting at his career average in wRC+...what were you expecting from him?
  2. Frelick with more lackluster OF defense.
  3. That's why Blake Perkins is playing. No other Brewer OF is making that catch this year.
  4. Freddy pulling 97 then 99 out there after being 92-93 for pretty much the whole game was fun.
  5. Yeah he's been a worse hitter, worse defensively, and worse baserunner. I have no clue why Frelick continues to play everyday.
  6. MLB should be ashamed at how terrible this broadcast looks.
  7. Another year where the stupid national broadcasts use this dumb off center camera angle instead of the Brewers normal centered camera angle that’s best in the league.
  8. He was fine the other two times he started. He had 4 ER in one of them but 2 of his ER were in the 5th inning. He's just an inconsistent pitcher whether its starting games or out of the pen.
  9. I mean Bennett was being used out of the pen. He was forced into the rotation because of injuries. McKendry has been hurt. Junk has been on the MLB shuttle. Gasser/Myers have been in the MLB. This is pretty much out of necessity.
  10. Maybe. He's already had Contreras catch multiple day games after night games this season.
  11. Honestly I just wish Ortiz was playing. There's no reason for Dunn to consistently play over him. I also wish Murphy would give Contreras some games off behind the plate. We have Sanchez and Contreras in the lineup today. Why not catch Sanchez and have Contreras DH? Maybe I'm the only one who is legitimately worried about Contreras burning out eventually with the catcher workload he has. This is our 39th game and he's caught 33 of them. He's our best/2nd best hitter and invaluable at the top of the order. If he burns out that would be a significant blow to the team.
  12. No Black in the lineup after fouling a ball of his ankle yesterday and being removed. Hopefully he just needs a couple of days off.
  13. This is where a normal beat reporter would push and ask what he's being held accountable for and why Oliver Dunn isn't being held to same standards. Instead our beat reporters just accept the answer and move on.
  14. Skenes debut didn't really live up to the hype. Fastball command wasn't great and Cubs just weren't chasing it. Really drove the pitch count up. Line is currently at 4+ IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO, 1 HBP with 2 inherited runners left.
  15. We have an ACL classic today. Brewers pitchers with a combined 4 WP and 3 balks.
  16. Bauers was off the team for 3 days when he was on the Bereavement List earlier this year so yeah I imagine somewhere in the 3-5 days range.
  17. It's actually impressive how you got nothing right in that comment. Both Ricketts and Hoyer said Ross was their guy after the season ended and that he was doing a great job. A month later they fired him. If Ross was gone either way they would have fired him immediately after the season ended not a month into the offseason after saying he was their guy. Ross inherited a Cubs team that was not a playoff team the year before he was hired and a team that the owner's significantly cut payroll on leading to a rebuild.
  18. If he was done why was he given a vote of confidence by the FO after the season when all the other managers who got fired were being fired?
  19. Hey at least you got to see him settle in. Always love seeing a young pitcher bounce back from a laboring first inning to have a solid overall line.
  20. Tyler Black took a foul ball off his ankle in the top of the 1st. Stayed in the game, but I imagine that's the reason he left the game.
  21. He's 6th on the team in PA. The hyperbole in your comment is completely overboard. Rather than immediately go to Brewers are horribly run/Brewers FO sucks maybe just take a step back. Chourio has been terrible this year. It's incredibly plausible that there's a reason for him not playing 2 days games in a row that isn't the Brewers are incompetent.
  22. Maybe they are having him make some swing tweaks or something along those lines. Also he's on pace for 530 PA still which is 40 fewer than last year. It's not like he's Joey Wiemer and getting 30 PA a month.
  23. Looks like Myers option is it. Gasser and Junk to MLB. Myers to AAA. Payamps to Bereavement list. Bukauskas to 60-day IL to open 40-man spot for Gasser.
  24. I'd be surprised to see Gasser replace Herget. If that was the plan I think Herget would have pitched the last 2 innings yesterday instead of Vieira. Koenig, Milner, Vieira, and Hudson are all probably unavailable today. If you option Herget then your only fresh bullpen arms are Peguero, Megill, and Payamps. If I had to bet we see a Koenig option, Vieira DFA/IL stint, or Myers option.
  25. Chourio and Dunn don't graduate until this weekend, but they can probably be removed because it doesn't seem like either player will be optioned before they graduate.
