  1. I hope so, but it's really hard for a non-closer RP to be an All-Star, but he absolutely should be based on his play.
  2. It also was a strike so learn the strike zone while you're at it Swanson
  3. Would really hate for Gasser to take an L after pitching like that. Hopefully Hudson can strand the runners.
  4. Feels worth noting that this is Gasser's first start on 5 days rest which is the rest he's most used to. AmFam being packed probably helps as well, but his velo/stuff are both comfortably up so far.
  5. I think recency bias is one factor, but also better access plays a role as well. It's kind of the social media dilemma. Like an example is violent crime rate in the US is way, way down compared to 20/30 years ago, but some people think the opposite is true because their social media feeds are filled with stories about violent crime. Now this isn't to say the Brewers farm isn't super deep right now, just that the better access can help influence someone's beliefs.
  6. I think it’s actually the other knee, so he’s torn both ACL now.
  7. CLT is Charlotte's airport code. Guessing that's why CLT is used.
  8. Ground ball hit really close to him that he misread and overplayed. Was just changed to an error. That lead to a run. Ground ball to him with runners on the corners and 1 out that he bobbled which prevented the inning ending double play,
  9. Tyler Black having a game to forget defensively at 1B and it's only the 3rd inning.
  10. When you dive deeper into Houck's career splits, I don't really think it makes a difference that he's been bad against LHH in the past. He's dramatically improved his splitter effectiveness and usage rate so he's really not the same pitcher he was before this year. He's throwing it 35% of the time this year vs LHH and commanding it way better than he ever has in the past.
  11. It's just command. 16 swings against him today and only 1 swing and miss. He has just been totally incapable of getting his sinker down this year. When he leaves his sinker up like today and basically every outing this year, it kind of defeats the purpose of a sinker because you're killing the sink. Even with 20 grade command like this he can get by in AAA because guys can't handle his velo. In the MLB he's getting hit around when he locates like this.
  12. Uribe still struggling to miss bats in AAA. I just don't think this is a guy who should be coming back to the MLB any time soon.
  13. This Cardinals team seems to be showing a lot more fight and belief than last year's team. I feel like last year's team would have just rolled over after the terrible start. This year's team has battled.
  14. Honestly I wouldn't mind having an opener for all or some of Rea, Wilson, Myers, Gasser every start. Feel like using an opener for guys like Rea and Wilson could help them to go 6 innings more frequently because it seems like the consistently run into issues against the top of the order a 3rd time. Letting them start their games facing the 5th hitter in the order gives them an extra inning before they face the top of the order a 3rd time.
  15. They remind me of Joe Ayrault's first half Timber Rattler team last year.
  16. This Biloxi team has not been very enjoyable.
  17. Part of that was because of Hader and because of the 3 batter minimum rule changes.
  18. Looks like the strike call Harper was whining about was correctly called a strike. While it was a quick hook, I'm pretty damn tired of players whining after clear strikes are called strikes.
  19. Prospects Worldwide are at the Brewers ACL game tonight and have posted some Bitonti and Di Turi tape. I'll just link one of the tweets and you guys can find the others through that.
  20. Definitely some positive pitching on the farm tonight. Carlos F Rodriguez continues trending in the right direction. These last 4 starts from him are what we were expecting to get from him this year. Starting to put that bad start to the year behind him. Logan Henderson didn't have a great line, but he was running the FB up to 97 a couple times and his stuff looked great. Didn't locate as well as we know he can, but with his stuff looking this improved and the command we know he has flashed he could have a big time prospect bump this year. KC Hunt with 8 K's over 4 innings. I'm about to watch him pitch. Knoth with 4 solid innings. The FB was looking great at the top of the zone and seemed like the curveball command was better than what I'm used to seeing. Nice 7 SO performance.
  21. Great call by Murphy using Koenig as an opener. Boston has 3 LHH in their first 4 hitters who absolutely crush RHP and are bad against LHP. Duran - 135 wRC+ vs RHP, 80 wRC+ vs LHP Abreu - 149 wRC+ vs RHP, 41 wRC+ vs LHP Devers - 187 wRC+ vs RHP, 81 wRC+ vs LHP
  22. I'd like to see Uribe actually start pitching well in AAA before they entertain bringing him back up. He just hasn't been very good in 2024 so far.
