  1. Rick, I think you've beaten the horse to death on this topic at this point.
  2. Luis Lara with his 2nd HR of the season. Loud, loud contact for such a small body.
  3. Is it really Arnold's fault that a bunch of established/semi-established players are having the worst seasons of their career? How is a GM supposed to predict that so many players will have 10th percentile outcome seasons. Adames - 86 wRC+ vs 109 wRC+ last season Tellez - 84 wRC+ vs 110 wRC+ last season Winker - 59 wRC+ vs 108 wRC+ last season Urias - 61 wrC+ vs 110 wRC+ last season Taylor - 8 wRC+ vs 102 wRC+ last season Brosseau - 75 wRC+ vs 118 wRC+ last season I don't really know how you can blame a GM for not predicting that.
  4. My hypothetical trade. Burnes and Payamps for Manzardo, Montgomery, and Basabe. BTV has it as pretty fair. Brewers getting $51.3M surplus value and Rays getting $54.6 surplus value.
  5. Does seem like there are quite a few guys who started really slow so their overall numbers look pretty average but they have been really good lately. At A: Gregory Barrios had a 22 wRC+ in April. Since May 1st he has a 105 wRC+ with a 128 wRC+ in June. Jadher Areinamo had a 42 wRC+ in April. Since May 1st he has a 95 wRC+. Then you obviously mentioned Hebert Perez. At A+: Robert Moore had a 69 wRC+ in April. Since May 1st he has a 122 wRC+ with a 139 wRC+ in June. Darrien Miller had a 42 wRC+ in April. Since May 1st he has a 133 wRC+. Then you obviously mentioned Joe Gray Jr.
  6. I figured Rowdy would probably be non-tendered this offseason barring a breakout season, but he's trending towards being DFA'd. Feel like he looks bigger this year. Wonder if that has hurt his swing.
  7. Wow what a bummer. He was having an incredible season.
  8. Counsell always uses his B bullpen when down runs late in the game
  9. Offense still the clear problem, but Counsell's bullpen management today was absolutely horrific. Just dumb founding choice after dumbfounding choice
  10. Brewer on Brewer crime with that cheesehead action.
  11. Honestly feel bad for Willson. His xwOBA is basically the same as William but he's woefully underperforming it and then he gets scapegoated by management for the pitcher issues despite the Cardinals having one of the worst pitching staff's on paper in all of baseball
  12. Such a weird season. Next 4-5 weeks could have this team looking to sell or buy depening on how things go.
  13. When do we think Woodruff gets back? Threw his first bullpen today. Probably about a month to stretch himself out so back 1st time through the rotation post All-Star break?
  14. I really pray the Reds operate like you want them. Please blow the farm system for rental/old starting pitchers!
  15. Also Luis Castillo. I remember a while back you said he could return soon after Luis Lara but I am guessing he re-injured himself.
  16. Feel like Mendez and Guilarte are the big ones right now.
  17. Chavez puts up a 0. 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO!
  18. I don't recall seeing it posted in the roster transactions thread, but Jose Chavez is making his full season debut for the Mudcats in the 9th right now. FB sitting 92-94 with lots of ride getting a lot of swing and misses with it.
  19. Sal Frelick appears to be okay! Deep breaths everyone!
  20. Seems like there's a very real adjustment period going from tacky balls to normal balls. Thompson and Uribe's command both faltered when they first got to AAA. This makes me think we could potentially see a lot of pitching moves once the Southern League goes back to a normal baseball as I doubt they want guys from A+ going to AA just to have a tacky ball for a week.
  21. Darrell Thompson seems to be settling down in AAA. In June he has 7 G, 8 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 13 SO. That's good for a 2.25 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 39% K-rate and 9% BB-rate.
  22. Frelick just fouled a ball of his right knee and was in a ton of pain. Was removed from the game and walked back to the dugout with a heavy limp.
  23. Still can't believe they not only didn't trade Bard but gave him a big extension last trade deadline. Madness from them and it's worked out like absolute crap.
