  1. Is Fray Morelo actually in the Brewers system still? He hasn't pitched since 2022.
  2. I think it will be longer than that. Chourio was in AA for almost a full season. Quero was in AA for an entire season.
  3. Feel like you trying to play it off as "slightly older" is pretty misleading. PCA was 2 years older than Chourio at every single level he was at. That's a huge gap. PCA was in A and A+ when Chourio was in the MLB. PCA was in AA when Chourio is entering his 2nd MLB season after putting up a near 4 WAR season in his rookie year. Comparing him in any way to Chourio is pointless. These are very different level prospects and players. PCA can certainly be an All Star level player and will very certainly be an annual 3+ WAR guy because his defense and baserunning are that good, but he has not been a good hitter in both AAA and the MLB. His hitting success in the minors was pretty much entirely in A, A+, and AA.
  4. Hey @Jack Stern should we at all be concerned that Hudson’s sweeper still doesn’t seem to be back to last year’s level or has he intentionally reduced the velo on it?
  5. If we are talking strictly roster fit then Margot is the best fit of the 3 NRI vets, so we can platoon our LHH heavy OF.
  6. Henderson, Rodriguez, and Alexander not exactly seizing the opening day rotation spots these last two days. With it being reported Quintana won't be ready until second time through the rotation, the 4th and 5th spots in the rotation are going to be a bit ugly.
  7. His swing has not looked tweaked during ST and the breakout game.
  8. I find it hard to believe Freddy gets traded. It’s certainly possible but we are losing Woodruff, Cortes, Quintana and Civale to FA this offseason. If you trade Freddy as well then they would need to be making a big move for a controllable SP in a trade.
  9. Definitely seems like Nyjer but I'll go a different direction Curtis Granderson
  10. He has too much MLB experience to still have prospect status.
  11. He filled out a lot this offseason. His legs were not that big last year.
  12. I could potentially see him being moved mid-season if our pitching gets healthy but yeah he was never getting moved before the season even if Myers didn't get hurt today. Woodruff is looking towards a May debut so we still have 4+ weeks before he will be ready and even then they might want to IL him mid-season to keep innings in check.
  13. He's only stretched to 3 up downs and 49 pitches it looks like. Will he get stretched out enough to start a game? I do hope they make sure Quintana is ready even if it means he misses first time through the rotation to get an extra start in Arizona.
  14. Starting to get tough to track who will be on the opening day roster with all the pitching injuries. 1. Peralta 2. Cortes 3. Civale 4. ? 5. Quintana (hopefully he's ready) LR - Thomas LR - Alexander (is he healthy? Hasn't pitched since 3/3) MR - Peguero MR - Hudson MR - Uribe SU - Koenig SU - Payamps CL - Megill
  15. Even if it's small I'll still take it especially with pitching which I feel produces late bloomers exponentially more often than position players. I don't think you can ever turn down more pitching depth and if a move like this could end up getting an arm into your system every few years you take advantage of it.
  16. Honestly seems like a bit of a market inefficiency to go after players who have been outrighted in the Rule 5 draft then. Specifically pitchers from orgs not known for being good with pitching development. Bring them in and have them get on board with how the Brewers operate then if/when time comes for them to be waived they will be interested in sticking around.
  17. I think Uribe makes the opening day roster pretty much entirely because of the suspension though him pitching well in ST helps keep him there for more than the 4 game suspension. Just makes the most sense to get it out of the way right away. Hopefully mother nature is agreeable and game 1 in the Yankees series can be played.
  18. You’re correct but I think it needs to be said if he’s doing so poorly that the White Sox want to return him then nobody else in the league is going to claim him. I think it’s pretty unlikely he gets returned. The White Sox have no intentions of being remotely good this year so even if he struggles they will keep him around. Only scenario I can see him returned is if he’s rocking like a 7+ ERA just getting shelled every time he’s out there.
  19. Blake Perkins is literally nothing like James Wood and not in the same stratosphere as a Wood level player.
  20. Glad I wasn’t totally losing my mind about it. Just seeing Woodruff in the A ball game today made we think about those lineups. Hopefully BrewersPD comes through.
  21. Were the minor league ST lineups posted here in the past or am I just imagining that and I actually saw it elsewhere?
  22. Another reason it seems likely is that they lose so many SP to FA this offseason. Woodruff, Cortes, Civale, Quintana will all be FA. The most experienced SP on the roster this offseason after Freddy will be Tobias Myers. To even entertain trading Freddy you'd need Henderson and Misiorowski to look like sure thing SP and Gasser to look good as new post TJ. Even then you'd ideally want to keep Freddy to be the experienced head of the rotation.
  23. Aramis Ramirez maybe?
