    I mean this isn't that surprising for Hardin. He absolutely blew by his career high in IP this season. The most innings he had thrown coming in this season was 40 last year. He's thrown 84 this year. Wildly successful season for him.

    Yeah this just is not an accurate description of the Brewers farm system. Just looking at their Top 30 on Pipeline and there are not many position players who I would characterize as slap hitters. 1. Jesus Made 2. Luis Pena 3. Cooper Pratt 4. Jeferson Quero 7. Luke Adams 8. Braylon Payne 9. Marco Dinges 10. Luis Lara 11. Eric Bitonti 14. Josh Adamczewski 15. Brock Wilken 16. Mike Boeve 17. Brailyn Antunez 21. Tyler Black 27. Blake Burke 28. Kenny Fenelon 29. Jose Anderson

    The Brewers minors are mostly defensive slap hitters? Are we looking at different farm systems?

    OF Handelfry Encarnacion was promoted to Carolina. RHP Miqueas Mercedes was promoted to Carolina. RHP Michael Fowler was promoted to Carolina

    Should probably wait until next year to plan that. If Made and Pena continue to be on the Chourio path then they would start next year in AA. Obviously there’s no guarantee that will happen but it’s also not guaranteed they will still be there either.

    Unless he gets optioned next season, he's probably going to be Super 2. Arb 1 in 2027 and FA in 2031.

    I think Fitzpatrick is actually pushing to be added to the 40 rather than added to the AAA roster to protect him from the minor league phase. He's had a really strong year. His velo is better than what I remember it being in the past. 6'7 LHP don't exactly grow on trees. Would love to see him get promoted to AAA to get a better feel for how his pitches move.

    I'm sorry you're suggesting Made could end up getting demoted back to Carolina?

    I just don't really see how they make it work with Adamczewski in A+ if they view Fischer as a 3B also with Dinges back there soon as well. Dinges is going to DH 2-3 days a week so it would be pretty much impossible to rotate Fischer, Made, Pena, Adamczewski through 3 positions and DH.

    Just to clarify, Zastryzny did go on a rehab assignment in July and pitched twice. He was pulled early in his second rehab outing and then returned to the IL from the rehab assignment for I believe re-aggravating the rib injury.

    What? He said it was the same reason Sal missed 3 games earlier this year. If it's the same thing Sal didn't need an IL stint for earlier this year, why would you expect an IL stint this time?

    Yeah I mean I think it's worth noting that Vaughn was an extremely well regarded hitting prospect. Pipeline - 65 hit, 60 power Baseball America - 60 hit, 60 power Fangraphs - 55 hit, 50 power (70 hit, 60 power in terms of future projections) ESPN - 45 hit, 45 power (65 hit, 60 power in terms of future projections) Athletic - No tools but talks about him being a .400+ OBP guy with 25 HR power

    Yeah I always had the caveat that you can only trade for Abrams if the Brewers think they could fix his defense at SS because it's bad. In the 4 games against the Brewers he has looked really bad defensively. Not just errors and misplays but also mental errors like not covering 3B allowing Monasterio to advance to 3B on a ground ball to the 3B.

    Ignoring injuries which nobody can control, I still think there's been far more good than bad in the system this year.

    Injuries have certainly been the big downer with the 2025 DSL Class probably coming in second, but the injuries have taken a toll. 9 of my Top 16 prospects are currently on the IL and of my Top 35 prospects (40 FV and better), we have at least 1 pitcher and position player injured at every full season level. Biloxi not playing as well with the two best Southern League hitters on the IL shouldn't be surprising for anyone. Their previous best pitcher was promoted to AAA, their current best pitcher is injured. Boeve has been a shell of himself post shoulder surgery. Wisconsin's best position player prospect is injured and second best was just traded and Wisconsin has arguably been the most impacted by system pitching injuries. Letson and Rodriguez have spent big chunks of the season on the IL. Knoth, Galindez, Woodward all likely would have pitched for Wisconsin this year and all haven't pitched this season.

    Brewers actually have their best shot since the playoff format was changed to significantly improve their WS odds by virtue of being a Top 2 seed and getting a bye to the NLDS. That alone improves your odds. Let’s hope their lack of action at the deadline doesn’t come back to bite them and that they can hang onto the top spot.
