  1. Mitchell now has 11 HR in 328 career MLB PA. That's 21/22 HR per 650 PA pace. Yet you say he'd be fortunate to hit 10-15 HR a season. His barrel rate is pushing 10% after tonight in his career. A guy with 600 PA and a 10% barrel rate can absolutely put up 30 HR. Also it's kind of funny that you keep citing post HS career as if college matters. In his professional baseball career he has 27 HR in 834 PA which is 21 HR per 650 PA pace. Basically both his MiLB and MLB HR per season pace is 20 and you say he's a 10-15 HR a season kind of guy. Meanwhile you think Frelick who has an MLB BA under .260 in his career with 1st percentile batted ball metrics is a .300 hitter in the MLB. Make it make sense please. $14M in 2025 not counting the buyout plus the $4M buyout in 2026 is a $18M guaranteed he'd be passing up if he opted out. Not $14M. That's just facts. His career OPS is irrelevant. He's 32 before opening day next year and is coming off a missed year and a really bad year. Jesse Winker had a career .813 OPS and 121 wRC+ going into FA last year and signed a 1 year deal for $2M. Surely he should have gotten way more than that by your logic, right?
  2. Ortiz looked very good defensively at SS tonight
  3. Botched a routine double play. Then didn't get his body in front of a ground ball hit right at him. Then totally whiffed on a pop up down the 3B line. Cost the defense 4 outs and 4 runs that inning.
  4. I'd 100% option Monasterio after that BS.
  5. Gunnar Henderson. Elly De La Cruz. There are a lot of SS who can hit for power these days
  6. No idea why Myers is still in there. Did Murphy fall asleep?
  7. 6 feels right. Each inning deeper into this game he does is a new career high in IP for him. No need to stretch him deeper than 6. I'd have Paredes and Milner finish it off.
  8. The way teammates talk about him, feels like his clubhouse presence is worth like 1 WAR a year.
  9. It's certainly better for all of our mental health haha
  10. I want him in the booth the rest of the season haha. He's been awesome.
  11. He'd be having a 7 fWAR type season if he was playing defense like he was last year.
  12. He's irreplaceable. Both on and off the field.
  13. Also just the most natural talent as well. Like Yelich said just lightning quick hands/wrists. Such a huge advantage for a hitter because you can see the ball longer. One of the reasons he's such a profilic opposite field power hitter for his age.
  14. Need to keep in mind because the Dodgers have the tiebreaker over us we would need to finish ahead of them in the standings.
  15. Adames being bad defensively has hurt. If he was playing defense like last year it would be much higher. I'll gladly take this years version of Adames over last year though.
  16. Birchard for game 1 is scary stuff. He's been really poor since he was promoted to A+.
  17. Mitchell has 10 HR in 322 career PA. That's basically 20 HR pace. He absolutely has the raw power to hit 30 HR in a season.
  18. Hoskins, if he left, would be leaving $18M on the table not $14M. 2025 is $18M with a $4M buyout and then there’s another $4M buyout after the 2025 season. So that’s $18M. After the season Hoskins has had it would be pretty shocking for him to get $18M in FA. His underlying numbers are extremely poor and he’s been below replacement level on the year.
  19. I just don’t mind it. Megill has basically even splits. LHH with a .241 wOBA against him and RHH with a .245 wOBA against him this year. Let him start with a clean inning rather than potentially coming in with a runner on base
  20. Bummed that it seems like we won't be seeing him in the MLB this year based on Hogg's article today.
  21. The bullpen went 4 innings against one of the best offenses in the league and only gave up 1 batted ball with xBA over .210...impressive stuff especially considering they were protecting a 1-run lead.
  22. That right there is the recipe for winning in the playoffs for this team. 5 innings from the SP and let the bullpen do what they do. Hopefully the bats break out of this team wide slump before the playoffs so the pitching doesn't need to be this good.
  23. Just a casual 199 wRC+ against LHP this year
  24. I pray Murphy doesn't use this as evidence to give Peralta a longer leash in the playoffs because he was extremely lucky not to get scored on that inning. The DBacks hammered him.
  25. Just bringing him out for the 5th was a mistake
