  1. Yeah, it’s been a disappointing year for pitching in the system. Before the year, I thought the pitching would take a giant step-up with just the numbers of young pitching prospects drafted in the last couple of years starting to breakout, but it just hasn’t happened up to this point, and for the reasons given. I think once the biggest arms from the ‘25 class get healthy, things should start to change and with some of the arms added from the ‘26 draft next season should be what I thought this season would be — pitching that balances out the system a little better.
  2. 1. Skubal — gives the team a trio of starters that can beat the Dodgers best 3 starters. 2. Morejon — dominant LH reliever that would allow the Brewers to move Ashby to a fireman role, which imo, is his best role. 3. Singer — innings-eating back-end starter that would help with innings-protection for Miz-Harrison and get rest for Skubal until playoff time.
  3. Really like these last 2 posts of yours. With Williams wrist injury and subsequent IL placement I’m guessing it hurts his trade prospects at this year’s trade-deadline. From your list — Ragsdale & Adams are my picks to move at the deadline.
  4. It is amazing and I think we can thank the best international prospect-procurement system in baseball for that amazing positional prospect depth. This last class absolutely looks like the deepest class they’ve ever had. When a prospect like Leanders Matos can’t get inside a team’s top 20, or a Moneys-Frontado, it’s a staggeringly deep system.
  5. Crow with a great outing. 6IP 1H 0R 2BB 6K. It would be fantastic if he could be an option for the big-club as a depth starter or bullpen arm at some point in the second-half.
  6. Nice to see Wagoner promoted to AAA. If he can continue to dominate, he has to be an option for the big-club at some point in the second-half of the season.
  7. Hearing from trustworthy sources that the team could sign 18-19 prospects from this class, so that, in conjunction with the overall talent-level of the system likely is the reason they aren’t adding UDFA’s, at least up to this point.
  8. $19M vs $8M in pool $ is hard to compete against so you could be right. But if the boys at ‘Just Baseball’ are right and the Brewers farm is twice as good as any other farm, maybe not.
  9. Absurd is right. The depth of talent positionally seems deeper than the ‘24 class. This class has separated this system further from the rest of baseball.
  10. Yeah, catching one of the few positions in this system that isn’t stocked with overwhelming depth, might add LH pitching as well. The amateur draft-department is absolutely firing on all cylinders. They have a process that gives them a leg up on most of the rest of baseball — just don’t let Ginger get poached.
  11. Johnson said he expects the 4 to sign rather quickly so guessing they know what it’s going to take to sign Strosnyder.
  12. Expecting to see the college pitchers drafted rds 5-10 with the requisite $ savings then the HS’s 11-20. Probably not going to be able to sign as many HS’s as they have the last few drafts but that’s ok because of their skill at pitching identification, they’ll still likely find 2-3 gems.
  13. Big-arm for the PDS to develop. Now let’s go draft some more pitching, lots of it, please and thank you.
  14. How could we get a top 25 draft-prospect with the 66th pick? I’m giddy with excitement!
  15. Ben Badler really knows the Brewers system. One of the most knowledgeable of the national site evaluators, imo.
  16. Brewers let’s get Wagoner on up to Nashville. Please and thanks.
  17. Offensive Development/Experience/Maturity. Same on the pitching side with an assist from the FO and their incredible trade with the Boston Red Sox.
  18. With this 15 game/14 day stretch of games I think they have to let him finish getting stretched out of the pen.
  19. Henderson dominating thru 2. No hits, no walks, 5 K. Getting him back in MKE’s rotation will be huge.
  20. Biggest need imo is backend of the bullpen. Adding a closer-type arm, preferably LH, would give the team a potentially dominant playoff bullpen with a couple of starter arms joining it for the playoffs. Uribe just not striking-out many hitters and neither is Megill. Trade for Chapman. Can’t think of a more battle-tested, veteran closer that I’d rather have pitching the 9th with a 1-run lead.
  21. Trade candidate. In a way too early look at the systems IF prospects I have — Pratt at SS and Made at 3B for the next 7-10 years. Pena at 2B if the team decides to trade Turang in a couple of years. Then Ebel & Frontado. Frontado seems to have more upside so…..
  22. Agree the Brewers arby Vaughn next season as their full-time 1B. Then they have Burke & Fischer behind Vaughn. No way Adams is a better prospect than those two. I would argue Adams has the most trade-value from among the blocked prospects. Between him and Jett, which is why I listed them together in a trade-package the team could use to acquire a player that improves the team at this year’s trade-deadline or next offseason.
  23. Running out of words to describe this team’s minor-league system. I’ve been following the team’s farm’s systems for over half a century (sporting news back in the day) and I’ve never seen it more full of real prospects, and on both sides of the ball. ’Just Baseball’ is right — this system is twice as good as any in the game.
  24. Want so badly to see Williams & Adams in a package for a HL reliever or starting pitcher. Realistically, neither has a future with MKE, imo, but should have nice surplus trade-value.
  25. Frias 2-3 thru 5 in today’s 7 inning game. This has to be his last ACL game, doesn’t it?
