  1. Yeah, people either love or hate him/PJ... I've always been a fan - but this is a bit annoying...
  2. Yeah... Dr. Bishop is great... and i'll admit I chuckled at the constant references to the "manbaby"...
  3. Call me a party pooper, but count me in the ranks of those who think that his pitching/Pittsburgh's offense would have played out differently if, in fact, a no-hitter was still on the table... So I wouldn't overturn it - heck, the way he's pitching, he might go out and get a proper one next time... Bill
  4. Glad to know I'm not alone on this - with us, instead of noises, it's physical movements. My wife is a "flopper" - she jumps into the bed, can't turn over without practically lifting herself off the bed and crashing back down. We have a king, so I eventually retreat all the way to the other side of the bed and can typically fall asleep pretty well. She has been known to say "You know, I know people who sleep the whole night through holding each other..." ... I explain I just can't do it. I need to stretch and not risk a flying elbow to the face... I don't think I'd like the separate bedroom deal... but whatever works for you guys...
  5. It's quite possible that I may be the only one who finds this highly amusing.... From IMDB: Drumstick Munching Reporter Shocks Anderson 27 August 2008 12:07 AM, PDT http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTg4NTMzMDYzOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODk1OTYyMQ@@._V1._SY90_.jpg Animal rights campaigner Pamela Anderson was left shocked at a recent press conference in Australia - after a risk-taking reporter pulled a chicken drumstick out of his shorts. The former Baywatch beauty was meeting journalists in Sydney earlier this week (beg25Aug08) to promote her reality show Pam: Girl On The Loose, when an eager reporter tried to grab her attention by pulling down his shorts and asking the star to sign his red underwear. And after happily signing her name on the semi-naked man's briefs, the bizarre meeting turned sour as anti-kfc campaigner Anderson was confronted by a chicken leg the reporter had pulled from his pants. The vegetarian star was clearly unhappy with the situation, especially when the man began to eat the chicken piece, telling her manager, "This is what happens. See, I create this image and this is what happens." Anderson protested outside branch of fast-food restaurant KFC in Sydney last month in a bid to try and convince the brand to refuse to use factory farmed animal meat.
  6. It's all over the internet about how awful the Milwaukee fans were to Eddie last night... makes me wonder what's happening to my beloved city... boo birds at Miller Park, drunken hooligans who can't get through a concert without acting out... Sounds like it wasn't just the cubs fans, by the report...
  7. I work at a bookstore in SoCal... it's hard to keep this thing on the shelves...
  8. Wilmot Panther... I wasn't much into the whole school spirit thing, but it's my high school, so hey...
  9. Is that what we're calling it? I call it the "kibbles and bits" picture... because you can see... well... nevermind... Glad to see someone posted it above and covered up the lower extremities...
  10. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c247/elvermanwrites/tgrill0304.jpg www2.jsonline.com/.../mar01/grill05030401.asp Reliever Ray King owns two Foreman grills: one for his home and one to use at spring training and during the season. "It's fast, it's easy and it cooks perfect burgers," King said. "It has to be healthier than cooking them in a skillet, with all the grease." Although he troubled the coaching staff by putting on weight last season, King was noticeably slimmer when he reported to camp this spring. It's doubtful, though, that the grill had a big an impact on his weight loss.
  11. No, I loved it... I seriously recommend everyone do it once... If you're referring to this part from my post from last year, I think it's just poor timing and not anything that would deter me from doing it again: HERE'S WHERE YOU SHOULD STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT A BUZZKILL: I moved to Rhode Island about two weeks after the jump. Stayed there for 10 months while she finished up school. Her dad sent us a clipping a few weeks later: The place that we jumped from was shut down a few weeks later because they had three deaths within the span of about two weeks. So if someone wants to take you skydiving in Ottawa, Illinois - don't do it.
  12. I think we had a similar thread not so long ago? I've done it and I recommend everyone do it... it's an experience you'll never forget...
  13. I think it's absurd that people are trying to compare the way Manny swiped his hat and glove to the downright cowardly blindsided hit by Prince Fielder... What Fielder did, regardless of the words being thrown around, was completely unacceptable...
  14. I 2nd pleurisy.... I had it as a kid... but the pain was more in the 4-5 range.... Gas is another likely culprit... ****RKFG=NOT A DR.
  15. I would disagree. I found Titus practically unbearable. I give the director some credit for trying something different with the staging but it didn't work at all for me, instead of seeming fresh, it seemed pretentious, unnecessary, and much more derivative than I was expecting. It ended up seeming like she was just throwing random things into the movie so that reviewers might praise her avant-garde sensibilities. The direction itself was vomit inducing, the director had no idea what she was doing with the camera at any given time. I also thought Hopkins gave one of his worst performances (which is saying a lot for a guy known for mailing it in. He is a great actor though, don't get me wrong). I thought Titus was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen when I saw it in the theater and this talk of it has revived my old hatred. It's a love-it-or-hate-it movie... no doubt about it...
  16. This is what I'm saying.... Titus is actually very, very good.... people like to rag on it though...
  17. Actually, you give me more credit than I deserve... I was actually referring to Keanu's near unwatchable performance in Branagh's Much Ado as Don John http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Also, if you're a big Shakespeare fan, I highly suggest reading the new book The Story of Edgar Sawtelle... It's basically Hamlet set in 1950/1960s northern Wisconsin - I'm only about 1/4 of the way through the book but it is already giving Art of Racing in the Rain a run for my favorite new book of 2008... ...and Bill Bryson's Shakespeare bio
  19. Ah... one of my favorite topics... Titus and Propsero's Books should be higher... 10 Things I Hate About You is much better than O (as far as being in the spirit of The Bard as transfered to the teen set)... I think Merchant of Venice might be better than where it is rated... Keanu's turn in Much Ado About Nothing is worth dropping it a spot or two, but still a worthy film... The Hamlet with Mel Gibson is actually very good, but it suffers by the comparison to Branagh and Olivier... And, it is not derived from a Shakespeare play, but the film Shotgun Stories is downright Shakespearean... I recommend it highly... although the ending suffers a bit...
  20. I love Wisconsin http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The best part is the line at the end from the guy at the garden shop. From the JSONLINE BLOG: Man charged with shooting lawn mower http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/news/img/jul08/lawnmower_72508_125.jpg Keith Walendowski is charged with shooting a lawn mower. A 57-year-old south side man, who might have been struggling with a hangover, is charged today with shooting his lawn mower with a sawed-off shotgun. "I'll tell you the truth," a criminal complaint quotes an apparently inebriated Keith Walendowski. "I got pissed because my lawn mower wouldn't start, so I got my shotgun and shot it. "I can do that. It's my lawn mower and my yard, so I can shoot it if I want," Walendowski told police. Ignorance of the law, however, is not a legal defense. Walendowski is charged with a felony count of possessing a short-barreled shotgun and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct while armed. If convicted of both charges, he faces up to six years and nine months in prison. The shooting occurred Wednesday at a home Walendowski shares with his mother in the 3500 block of S. Austin St. According to the complaint, Walendowski had been drinking all morning. Around 9:30 a.m., he attempted to start his 21-inch Lawn-Boy - unsuccessfully. After shooting the mower, he went in his basement, where he was arrested by police, the complaint says. Police recovered the shotgun, shells, a handgun, rounds for the handgun and a stun gun. Dick Wagner of Wagner's Garden Mart, 6075 N. Green Bay Ave., said shooting the mower didn't help Walendowski's odds of getting it repaired. "Anything not factory recommended would void the warranty," he said.
  21. No... really... don't do it.... ...not that there's anything wrong with that... but it is definitely NSFW
  22. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c247/elvermanwrites/7091.jpg I don't suggest anyone do a google search for "Enrique Cruz" from a work computer... http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c247/elvermanwrites/images.jpg
  23. Alejandro Escovedo's new disc has really grown on me... moved into my favorites of the year... wish I had been there to see him at Summerfest...
  24. In one thread today we praise the site and talk about how it rises above all the other crap out there... ...and in another we post and laugh at a video of an opposing manager's DUI arrest... One thing seems contrary to another... But hey, I'm the same guy who thought the "pee on myself if the Brewers make the playoffs" thread was dumb and classless, so what do I know...
  25. Its not quite so hard when you also lead the league in ABs. So... you don't think others were less deserving? I'm just saying, I think he's had a year worthy of a spot on the all star team (especially compared to some of the others) and his career mediocrity shouldn't be held against him...
