  1. Per JSONLINE: BREWERS 2B Craig Counsell DH Casey McGehee LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Mat Gamel SS JJ Hardy CF Jody Gerut C Jason Kendall RHP Dave Bush Gerut in center and Kendall catching Bush... interesting... do you think, since they are down a man or two, that they want to keep Rivera available to pinch hit (since he'd be a better option than Kendall?)
  2. Except for the fact that he is native to the Twin Cities area and his family is deeply, deeply rooted there. He's going to have more money than he can spend, anyway - the local angle may be enough to keep him there.
  3. Anyone else think "Black Mamba" is an oddly appropriate nickname for Kobe? The way the L.A. media fawns over this puke is despicable...
  4. I gave a one month notice from a job and the reaction from most people was: That's ballsy. I don't think it happens a lot, but they could easily tell you to pack things now and get out. It's a high risk. Two weeks is perfectly acceptable.
  5. He pulled a Michael Hutchence...
  6. Edit: I realize that word is possibly not acceptable around here. So I'll just say I don't like 'em...
  7. They needed to turn Eddie's mic up, but other than that, I was very happy with their performance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHTvoOdC9I8
  8. I'm not much of a TV guy, but I have to admit that I'm excited for Conan's debut on Monday night, if only because I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan and the rumor is that they'll be debuting two new songs tomorrow night as Conan's musical guest. That and Conan's probably the freshest, sharpest thing going in late night TV. Tomorrow is the rare night in which I'm excited for TV...
  9. If I were breaking this down to high school psychology: this is like when the nerd suddenly becomes popular and the jocks need to puff out their chests to assert dominance. Their incredulousness comes from their insecurity because maybe, just maybe, the lowly Brewers have a better team than them.
  10. He did it in quite a classy manner. The technique in which he threw the equipment at the ump was classy. In reading his lips, I could tell he was using only classy language. Overall, I'm really impressed with the class of this St. Louis team. They are most gracious losers.
  11. Brooks, you're one of my favorites. Great interview. How can you not be on the side of the Toolshed? Now, if we could just get Ray King to visit the site, my Brewers internet experience would be complete...
  12. Don't forget that I'm pretty sure the president is porking Ethan Kanan. It was such a strong season and it kinda fizzled out towards the end. You wonder how much of that had to do with the very extended hiatus it took because of the writer's strike? Who knows... Overall, not bad. Tony flipping on a dime again at the end was something I suspected. But Jack was right, he went too far with the attack on the subway. Ah well, we're hooked until next year.
  13. How dare they show-up and disrespect Yadier Molina like that. What a classless bunch. This shows you why the Brewers are a cocky, self-absorbed bunch of hooligans with no respect for the game. This team would have character if they had guys like Ryan Franklin, Kyle Lohse and Albert Pujols. (I don't know how to type in blue)
  14. http://sports.yahoo.com/m...;prov=yhoo&type=lgns He's actually (aside from Weeks) probably the best story on the Brewers this year. Hopefully he can keep up his amazing streak and keep up the k-to-BB ratio. Edit: On another note, Passan is typically hit-or-miss for me, but when he writes well he really writes well. I could have blue-tinted glasses on since he's saying nice things about one of our guys, but the article isn't bad.
  15. I'm not one to judge anyone, but that's pretty comprehensive and damning list.
  16. I know one of the guys in the film... we're anxiously looking forward to it...
  17. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, that one is more valid over the other... I'm just saying that my personal preference is this: Over this:
  18. Yes, but one has to have the urge to see Wilco live... they might be able to win me over, but I'd take a live DBT or Lucero show over Wilco any day of the week...
  19. OK, I stand corrected. Qualifications aside, then, I guess I just don't like Wilco...
  20. This also marks the three-year anniversary of the much beloved "Can Bill Hall Pitch" thread: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=6633 I'm a little biased, because I think the thread involves some of my best Microsoft Paint work... ever.
  21. Yup. Not on the chairs... Exciting that Wilco would shoot their album cover in Milwaukee. Very neat. Having said that, I've never been able to get into Wilco, and I say that as a major disciple of "alternative country". I loved Uncle Tupelo and Wilco's collaboration with Billy Bragg on Mermaid Avenue (the Woody Guthrie tribute)... but I've just never been able to get into Wilco as Wilco. There are so many bands that do alt-country better than Wilco. Centro-matic/South San Gabriel, Slobberbone, Drive by Truckers, Lucero, Magnolia Electric Co., etc. etc. I respect the role Jeff Tweedy had in the movement, I just think others have done it better than him.
  22. Yeah, they just flip out and kill stuff. They are the ultimate paradox.Ninjas are cool. And by cool, I mean totally sweet.Which is braggable...
