  1. We should absolutely be in contention next year and hopefully better. Hopefully we'll have a reasonably healthy year(by NFL standards). We had two bad FA signings that we'll likely get out of, but Gute has been pretty good in FA overall. This was why I wasn't as eager to trade for Garrett(though two 1sts, I certainly would have) but he's almost 30. Parsons is 26. He'll be back. Move on from Jenkins, Banks, Hobbs... and go for it next year. This team was good enough to win WITH Watson, Parsons and Tom. I'm not giving up on the whole Jordan Love era. Just this season. But **** this sucks.
  2. This board can be fairly pessimistic... but... it's absolutely over. I really think the best thing you can root for the rest of the year is to see guys like Sorrell, Golden, Morgan maybe... I don't know who else, but just go with the young guys. I'll just have to look forward to Kraft, Watson, Tom, year 2 Golden on offense and Parsons and hopefully some upgrades at CB next year. But... that's a wrap this year. Even if they play in the playoffs... they're not a threat to really do much. Certainly not win multiple games.
  3. Yeah, it's just that feeling where you KNOW what's coming, but... there's still that irrational hope. Watson MIGHT not have broken the collarbone. Parsons MIGHT have an MCL(which makes no sense). Tom...well, he could also be fine OR he could have a torn ACL. Who knows. This is pretty much the end of the season though. Welp... on to the draft?
  4. Yeah, I guess. But this is as bad as a regular season loss could be.
  5. Is today as bad as the Seattle loss? With how mediocre the NFL is this year...and how the Packers were playing with Watson... anyone else feel like this is on level with those losses?
  6. Ok... Brooks is not a good RB. He's great at ONE thing... picking up the blitz. Please no more inside zone. Just...force it to Golden. Lets see if he's a guy or not- that it matters because the OL without Tom is not good.
  7. The NFL as a whole is going to suck until... HOPEFULLY week 7 next year. I don't know... assuming Parsons comes back on the Watson schedule... This year is a wrap. I mean... they will probably still get in, but does anyone care? This team has a good supporting cast, but take Parsons away from the D and now the secondary has to do something and the CBs can't. Take Kraft, Parsons and Tom off this offense and... I mean, it's a wrap. The Parsons trade was still worth it. It's the type of trade you have to make, but it's just such a kick in the balls when it all falls apart like this. EVERYTHING. I guess I look forward to seeing how Sorrell plays and... Golden. It won't be good enough, but baring some Giannis like miracle where Parson's ACL didn't explode, I've lost all faith in this team. Still think Love is the guy. That's something but Jeeesus ***** this sucks.
  8. I'd be fine if that's all we were losing.
  9. What does this even mean? "1 player frauds?" That's ridiculous. This has been one of the best teams in the NFL. You lose 3 of your 4 most important players in one game... yeah, you're probably going to lose, but... I think it's pretty stupid to call them "frauds" this year.
  10. Yeah... if the injuries are what they look like(and... when TF are they not with a knee like that)... it's a wrap. Most important players Love Parsons Tom Watson Wyatt is in that next group, but... *****... what a miserable game. This could be the worst game I've seen as a Packers fan...
  11. Even when he was dropping half the balls that hit him in the hands, he was still HUGE to have on the field because you still had to account for him. Now Surtain comes down and plays Reed or whoever and it's just like the BP, everyone gets a better matchup(for Denver). Just... two of the worst players you could have lost in Watson and Tom. And Watson being ruled out is....discouraging. I didn't expect him back, but ruling him out tells me the X-rays were bad. I hope I'm reading too much into things. And... now Parsons. This literally could not be a worse ******* day for us.

  13. That's a 1st. He rolled over the Packers player as far as I could see.
  14. This 3rd down is a BIG chance to get some back...
  15. They need to get the ball into Golden's hand with Watson out. Obviously Reed and Wicks, but Golden is the only other real speed threat.'
  16. Slightly confusing when their QB is Bo Nix, but... sure. Nixon has struggled. Bo Nix extending plays is hurting them.
  17. Sounds like a Collarbone for Watson... just really hope it's not broke.
  18. They're... not good. I like Valentine, but other than that, it's a bunch of guys who I think are clearly best as slot CBs playing soft coverage. Nix extending plays makes things look worse also. It's obviously hindsight and you wouldn't have Edgerrin Cooper, but the Eagles being aggressive and moving up for Mitchell and DeJean totally revamped that secondary. BUT... a dominant front can help make the corners look better. This is a huge series for the Packers here.
  19. I have no problem with taking a shot to Watson... I just don't like the outcome. But he and Reed have been making plays like that and Watson was in man(even though it was Surtain). We should be looking to put teams away... BUT now arguably the 2 most important players to this team behind Parsons and Love are on the sidelines/in the locker room. The BIGGEST win we could have this year is Tom and Watson not having serious injuries.
  20. Yeah, I agree. LOL... I mean, c'mon, this is a "safe place!" It's like Twitter where everyone's just pissing and moaning no matter what. They're upset because we haven't signed a big name free agent and have irrational expectations. We're all homers here(I mean, most of the board). Also, the whole narrative about how bad Collins was at the end of the year is getting tiresome. He played sporadically but he finished the year 2 for 29 with 6 walks and 6 strikeouts in his last 29 ABs of Sept. In the 29 ABs in the FIRST half of Sept, he put up a .280/.379/.480 .859 OPS... in Sept. So everyone saying "He finished the year poorly," it was EIGHT GAMES. 8 games in which he STILL had a .300 OBP. I think every Brewers had a stretch like that...
  21. This whole narrative about Collins being bad at the end of the year. C;'mon! Talk about small sample sizes. "I trust our front office." Me too. And that's what I'll lean on. But just looking at this trade, I believe the arguments for it would be cheering for it if it were the exact opposite. "We got 5 years of team control over a guy who finished 4th in ROY voting AND the reliever who had the better year last year? Arnold does it again!" I love this board and there's a lot of people who know the game REALLY well, they know the prospects... but the opinion is really 'well, if the Brewers did it, it's a good move!' I half wanna see the Brewers trade Made for... Trevor Story and see how popular that is. 'Prospects are no guarantee and Story is a big upgrade over Ortiz!' I trust the FO... I really do. We got a nice Ground Ball pitcher who... throws in the mid 90s. Hopefully we can get better, but this doesn't seem like a great value. I hope the Brewers are right though.
  22. Fair. I just saw Contreras and it... seemed to me as though you were not counting trades. I will reiterate my objection to trading Megill here(in vain) this year. If he has a big year... then 2027, ok. He's just not in that group(Hader, Williams or Burnes)... meanwhile, Contreras may be more valuable than any of them. Of course this is just a preliminary projection. ....and who knows what this will look like. KC Hunt could be in that rotation, he could be a SU man, Hardin could be a closer or a legit #2/3 starter by then, Wichrowski could be our SU man. I'd guess Ashby is dealt if not in the rotation...as he'll be expensive as a reliever, and I really don't love the value we got for Collins and Mears, but we did get another really nice reliever or long man. Another GB pitcher who... hopefully we can get some more hit and miss out of him.
  23. Well... with respect, you may want to refer to your prospect lists. He had a VERY serious shoulder injury that hurt his pop times. His value was in his defense. His bat looked like it could be MLB average(very good for a catcher). But then he had a torn labrum. That's a LOT for any player to come back from and... he hasn't come all the way back(yet). His arm WAS graded 70. That is a "plus-plus" arm. Now... per BA, it's got a 45 grade on it, that's fringe MLB strength. The hope is certainly that he gets his arm strength back. That's why he's slipped in the rankings. That's a MASSIVE difference. Ok. So... lets go with Pratt being Turang #2. Where do you want to play him? Turang-2B Pratt-SS Made-3B Chourio/LARA/Frelick-OF Pena will have a place on this team, but 2027 is probably a bit too soon, certainly opening day... I'd extend that again to Made and maybe even Pratt. You start them for opening day, you get them for 6 years. You call them up 2 months into the season, you get them for...effectively 7 years. That's a big deal for a team like the Brewers. I don't think much homework was required here. The OP knows the Brewers. He just happens to have different opinions... and I'd say they're probably more on the mark.
  24. We're Brewers fans, not idiots. We're well aware of Yount and Molitor. I was at Yount's 3,000 hit. 1st base line, watched him take it the other way. That said, I think you may be confusing Pratt and Made. As you can see in this thread, I'm very high on Pratt, but it's Made that is the superstar prospect. Leaving out Made is like leaving out Yount in the Young, Molitor, Gantner trio... I think some of us have WATCHED him play and... our opinion isn't entirely related to MLB Pipeline. Other sites have him.... going very much the other way. For a guy who has a poor profile as a fielder and DH only(which REALLY hurts a prospect ranking)...he's actually VERY well regarded.
